Hotel Pallanza  

Staff were very helpful and friendly, and the location in Pallanza is superb.

A very grand hotel crammed with period features and with excellent views over Lake Maggiore. Friendly helpful staff and free wi-fi very welcome. Excellent location in Verbania and great ambience both in the hotel and in the resort - a quieter pace, relaxed and elegant - ideal for couples.

Lake view was great but we expected a a balcony and instead got a balcony style window only I.E. patio doors with a ballustrade and no seating space. Internal bathroom - no windows - had inadequate ventilation - a common problem in hotels. Also breakfast is too expensive at 12 euros each for a buffet. we had coffee and pastries nearby for 5 euros!

Superb lake side location with wide views of Lake Magiore. Fairly quiet, having restaurants within walking dfistance. Helpful english speaking girls on reception. They even sent a 'bon voyage' email after departure.

Nice room view to Lake Mayor. The hotel does not provide for private parking but they borrow to guests a city hall authorization to park in public places for free. Excellent location a few steps away to the ferry boat station which enables to visit the lake islands and other lake attractions.

A bit pricy for what you get, Pallanza is a nice cosy hotel but definitly not a 4-star. So if you are waiting for that you will be disappointed. Rooms are small and bathrooms are even smaller, which does not make the stay very comfortable. The room was also noisy at night, you could hear everything going around in other rooms or down the hallway, and even the water hiting on the lake shore... In brief, I guess we could have done better with a 3-star and paying less...

La vue est vraiment exceptionnelle (chambre sur lac au 4ème étage)

La chambre était petite, la salle de bains également, avec une douche minuscule et surtout le pommeau de la douche qui fuyait de partout et envoyait de l'eau dans tous les sens. Les deux balcons était remplis de toiles d'araignées qui dataient visiblement. L’insonorisation était inexistante. Au 4ème étage on entendait tout, les gens, les voitures ; l'hôtel donne sur une rue qui le sépare du lac et sur une promenade qui longe le lac, et il y a beaucoup de monde qui s'y promène jusqu'à une heure avancée de la nuit. Beaucoup de bruit. A l'intérieur, nous avons entendu notre voisin rentrer, allumer sa lumière, aller aux toilettes avec tous les bruits intempestifs... Le pire était le petit déjeuner (10 euros et non pas 12 comme indiqué sur le site de booking.com). Jus de fruit reconstitué à base de poudre imbuvable, thé Lipton yellow comme unique choix, et le reste à l'avenant. Une impression d'économie sur tous les postes. L'accueil était correct mais sans chaleur aucune, la vie dans l'hôtel totalement absente. La déception était vraiment grande par rapport à ce que nous attendions d'un hôtel 4 étoiles.

Har bott på detta hotell förut, då med rum med utsikt och varit hyfsat nöjda. Denna gång fick vi ett litet, fruktansvärt lyhört och tråkigt rum som vette mot baksidan. Har svårt att förstå hur detta hotell kan klassas som 4-stjärnigt! I beskrivningen på booking står nyrenoverat, när? Frukosten är helt undermålig för sina 12 Euro, även om den hade varit inkluderad kvarstår faktumet att den är dålig.
