Fine and interesting building in a superb location overlooking Lake Maggiore. Generous sized bedroom. Excellent receptionists: welcoming, friendly, efficient and helpful. Best receptionists in any Italian Hotel we have stayed in. Total lack of soundproofing of bedroom. Noise emanating from rooms upstairs and the bathroom from adjoining bedroom. Sliding doors accessing bathrooms from bedrooms did not help. Chairs in bedroom more decorative than practical or comfortable. Poor restaurant. Evening meal of very poor standard and returned. Tinned fruit for breakfast! Disappointing when abundance of fresh fruit available to make fresh fruit salad ( individual fresh fruit was available). Poorly cooked scrambled eggs and no bacon offered. For a four star rated hotel, restaurant food very disappointing. |

We liked the hotel because of the architecture which was real nice. The stairways and the big doors to the restaurant were according to the pictures seen on the website. At the front of the hotel you can hop on the boats to visit the small islands. Room was a little small. |

Staff friendly and interested in our views. Helpful on ideas and planning; free internet. Views and Location are amazing and despite being on the street, there is no traffic and the hotel is very quiet. Market on Friday mornings 50 m away; Lake steamer terminal visible from balcony. Man came to fix the Air Con without even being asked. Room made up late in the day - important if you want a hot weather siesta!; Breakfast was not great - congealed egg, tinned fruit and average cheese countered by excellent juice and pastries. BUT -we had a long discussion with the Manager who was aware of the problems and is dealing with improvements. |

Beautiful location, nice and helpfull staff. Lake Maggiore is great also in February. The hotel is very nice with a lot of flower arrangements; a truly 1900 style building. |

The reception was very friendly and they were able to offer us a free car park in a garage behind the hotel. The view from our room across the lake was fantastic. The room we had was also much larger than we had anticipated which was a nice surprise. |

Très bon accueil (prévenant) dans cet hôtel rénové, situé à proximité de l'embarcadère pour les iles Borromées ou circuit sur le lac Majeur. La chambre 405 est vaste et plaisante et offre une vue directe magnifique sur le lac. Restaurant fermé en basse saison, mais autres établissements à proximité. Petit déjeuner buffet copieux. |
