The location of the Hotel is what lets it down. To get from the coach stop to the hotel, you have to walk through an old abandoned thermal spa carpark (not ideal if it's at night). To get from the Hotel to the town, there is a narrow two way road which has no footpath or lighting (again, not ideal at night). The hotel does have a pool, but it consists of a 'above ground' pool with decking built up around it, and not looking all that clean.
The Hotel owners also own cats, which in itself is not a bad thing, but with an 18 month old baby and parents still of the mindset that foreign cats aren't all that clean (and the piles of droppings outside) we felt this was not conducive to an enjoyable stay.
On another note, the beach in Castellammare is not in use!! There are boards up the entire length, closing it completely!
The staff at Hotel Paradiso were very friendly. As a family run Hotel, they try to look after their guests in a professional manner. As an English holiday maker, I feel ashamed that I can't speak any foreign language, but the staff do their very best to understand our questions. The hotel owner was also kind enough to drive us to the bus stop when there was a thunder storm.
