During check in they offered a drink. They helped us a lot with some problems with the car.
We had a very relaxing 2 nights. Great service, location and facilities (and breakfast, too!)
Good place for people who have a car. 10 min drive from the center. Quiet area, nice garden, good breakfast, comfy rooms.
Weak WiFi in some rooms, no pool.
The location was great, both indoors and outdoors. The hotel looks like a refurbished old manor and has wonderful gardens. Great deal for that price. Big bathroom, good wifi everywhere...nice staff.
The ventilation system made loud periodical sounds, which were scary at night. The hotel does not have a restaurant, so we had to go elsewhere for dinner (about 800m walk).
* clean room * good WIFI * nice garden
* view from the room on back side - nothing special * far away from old town
Very spacious rooms Outstanding grounds Great breakfast Very comfortable Desk attendant was extremely helpful.
Biggest issue was distance to attractions. Limited storage in bathroom. Leaky shower - couldn't dry off.
Staff spoke very good English. Offered free cappicino on terrace upon arrival. Best room is number 315 with own large terrace overlooking lovely park/gardens. We loved everything about it and would thoroughly recommend it.
Beautiful room. Beautiful gardens. Excellent breakfast. Spacious free parking. Easy to find by car.
We chose this hotel for easy parking and for its restaurant. Although booking.com and the hotel web site clearly indicate that a restaurant is available for 3 meals a day, this was not the case. The manager first told us there was no restaurant, just a breakfast room. She finally told us it was open only for tour groups. This is serious misrepresentation. The ONLY restaurant nearby was half a mile down a dangerous and very busy road in this industrial area. There were no sidewalks for half the distance and we did not feel safe walking there in the dark.
Wonderful Italian villa/hotel. Extremely well run with very professional staff. Very elegant public rooms and a lovely terrace to enjoy a quiet drink overlooking the park. The hotel offers secure parking within the grounds. The breakfast is excellent and varied. I thought it was a great choice and really good value for money. Would definately recommend this hotel. Just book it, you won´t be disappointed.
Wi fi could have been better but I´m being picky as the hotel is just great.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful surroundings. Very quiet and peaceful High standard of the rooms Excellent breakfast Great value for money
Located in the north of Syracusa and having no restaurant of its own, you have to be prepared to drive somewhere for your evening meal.
Every thing was Excellent.
Need a car to get around
Comfortable and spacious room. Freshly decorated as is hotel generally. Friendly and helpful staff.
Dreadful location in horrible suburb on an urban highway with no pavements so impossible to walk anywhere safely. No restaurant in hotel even though website says there is. Nowhere to eat nearby apart from very basic local pizzerias right on the highway. TVs blaring in all these. No alternative but to brave hellish drive into Ortygia to eat and search out parking area where pay machine actually works - it seems most don't. Lack of good restaurant at so-called 4 star hotel is severe fault in the circumstances. Even staff could not recommend anywhere to eat locally - the only place they did recommend was ghastly and even though only a short distance from hotel we were told by them it was not safe to drive due to absence of pavement! Sadly these issues blighted our 3 days in Siracusa . We shall not return.
charming environment. good staff. excellent breakfast
Super friendly and helpful staff, make every effort to make your stay relaxed and seamless. The breakfast was very good. Hospitality very good.
Decor Air con Shower Large bed! Good breakfast
Location. At least two miles from town No shuttle bus No local bus to town Severe lack of storage No iron No info about town so found everything out for ourselves
Despite the busy and ugly new town of Seracuse this hotel is an oasis!Excellent surrounding park, nice old building with big and nice decorated welcome areas. Very spacious rooms, renovated.Really good value for money!Helpful staff with good english knowledge and nice proposals for trips around. Close by car to Ortigia (old Seracuse town)
The amenities are too standard (same hair and body wash) bring your own!
Although on a busy road, hotel was peaceful as set in gardens back from the road. Good breakfast and spacious room and bathroom.
Location is urban. Only 2 small restaurants within walking distance but no pavements so walking is along the busy road. Would choose to be in Ortygia if I went again.
Lovely garden at the front with four fountains and lots of trees. Plenty of car parking outside with good security. Rooms were nice with good space and effective air-con. The hotel was quiet and well back from the road. Breakfast had good variety (fruit, cereal, cake, bread, juice, yoghurt, cheese, ham/salami, rocket, tomato). Really helpful reception. Walking distance to large 'Simply' supermarket and to good family pizzeria-restaurant (recommended) called Mille Sapori - much patronised by Italian families from the neighbourhood.
Could do with an extra chair in the room - just a desk, a chair and a padded bench. Definitely need a car (or taxis) to get to Ortigia (the main area of Siracusa). Need to walk in the road (no pavement) if going to supermarket or pizzeria on foot - seems scary at first but felt safe enough once used to it. WiFi good in bar but a bit flaky in the room.
This is a wonderfully appointed hotel only about 10 minutes drive from all the tourist sites of Syracuse. The furnishings and decoration are top notch, the hotel is well set back from the road in tree lined gardens and is an oasis of calm. The reception staff were the most professional and helpful we encountered on our tour of Sicily. The breakfast buffet (cold food only) was also extensive.
We had no complaints about the hotel as such but were surprised to find that (apart from breakfast) there was no on-site restaurant. Staff were on hand to recommend places to eat however. Some may also miss not having a pool although for sun worshippers there is a solarium.
The setting is gorgeous and the room was very nice.
But on the con side, there were a couple things. When we arrived to register we were asked if we wanted an iced tea. That sounded great to us after having driven all day. We were ushered to a sofa and told to wait there for our drinks. After 20 minutes and no drinks, we got up and just registered for our rooms. The restaurant recommended by the hotel for dinner was full of smoking, noisy kids (we are not); so we came back to the hotel for dinner. The dinner was very underwhelming and the staff seemed to act as we were keeping them from closing.
The hotel is surrounded by modern high rise apartments, but once you enter the villa's gate and drive up to the villa with its beautiful front garden and elegant setting, you are taken to another time. It is quiet location, but still close enough to all of the sites in Siracusa. The staff is warm, helpful and friendly. The rooms are very nice with all the amenities. They have a lovely buffet breakfast with sweet and savoury selections. We will definitely stay there on our next trip.
We liked everything.
Villa and garden offer an oasis of tranquillity within Syracuse. Staff is excellent. Management pays close attention to quality and decor.
