Location,,, staffs was very friendly, kind and helpful while I was travelling in Firenze.
Parking Charge.... Breakfast, poor Wifi service
extremly loud staff in breakfast room rooms need painting and wall cleaning
Superb, knowledgeable & friendly staff. 12th century building boasts fresco ceiling in breakfast room, functional modern room updates. Location. Full bathtub. Copious breakfast.
Hopeless internet, w/ no connection cost me 2 booking.com deadlines; front desk staff intervened a l'italiano to get one reversed. In contrast, imperious attitude of female manager who refused to deal w/ customers.
Beautiful property, excellent breakfast (included with our booking); staff were very pleasant and helpful. We loved the true Florentine feel and the location on a lovely quiet street right off a main thoroughfare. Very clean. Nice bathroom with a tub! We have already recommended it to others. Will definitely stay again.
The curtains (in a high-ceilinged room) made it difficult to open the windows. Other than that, we really loved everything about Hotel Paris and our stay.
room was clean and spacious. biggest room we stayed in during our trip. great location but tough to find. we drove in and would not do that again.
had to pay to park car. lots of stairs.
Travelling with my family (3 kids - 7 years, 4 years, and 8 Months) Nice breakfast Good Internet and FREE staff were nice excellent location, walk distance from everything you need and 5 min walk from train station. theme of the hotel, classic furniture
This hotel is located strategically close to Florence's SMN station and the Duomo. It is within easy walking distance of all the major sights and venues. Although a "heritage" property, the building is charming and is surprisingly comfortable. Staff and friendly and attentive. Our rooms was a little quirky but comfortable with a bathroom providing good facilities. Breakfast was more than adequate for our needs.I would recommend this good value for money hotel without reservation.
Very spacious, particularly important after being in planes and trains for 30 hours! Loved the terrace for short outdoor rest
Quite noisy with window open but thankfully A.C. Worked well enough next night to have windows closed. Instructions to find it from station could have been better!!
Perfect location, easy walking to most sites and to the train station. Fantastic view of the skyline outside of our 3rd story window (which seemed higher than 3 stories). Even though we booked a triple for two of us (the doubles were out) they gave us a quad with two king beds. For two of the three nights they left nice bottles of wine (complementary). The ceiling (Room 331) had an old faded fresco, probably from the original palace. (It's actually two palaces from 1575 and 1599 put together according to history brochure in the room - we were in the older part.) Ceilings were about 18 feet high and the old windows with shutters where about 6-8 feet high! Since the hotel is in the middle of the old city, there could be street noise, but for us it was mostly entertainment since we looked out a lot. With the windows closed there was no noise, and the a/c worked well. There was an old amoires for clothes and a old secretary type desk. We really fell in love with the place. The room and bathroom were always cleaned well. The breakfast was pretty good with the usual pastries, cereals and meats (but no eggs) and the coffee was from a machine - not great. However the dining room had vaulted ceiling with fresco that looked like the ones I had seen in the Uffizzi, at least the same style and probably period. Really nice. All the staff were friendly, helpful, and spoke English well. The first day they got us two tickets to the Uffizzi with just a 5e surcharge. Overall the hotel really put us in a good mood to take in Florence, even with all the other tourists. Would definitely like to stay there again.
Didn't care much for the "Euro-shower" which is the type screwed up arrangement that Europeans think is a shower. In fairness, that my major gripe about almost all Euro hotels. Carpet in the room could use an update. Coffee from the machine in the breakfast room could have been better. I basically hit the espresso but 5 times and then add milk by hand - it was ok.
This hotel has lots of charm and a wonderful staff. It might be a little tattered on the edges, but that's part of its charm.
Only the breakfast. The staff is rude, uninterested in providing information about anything. The room was the size of a closet and the bed a junior single. It was noisy facing the street and one could hear the noises from the adjacent room. When I complained they simply didn't care. When I checked out they didn't provide a receipt. It is an old and tired old palace. You have to buy coffee from a machine and internet is not free but you have to pay to use a computer on the first floor in the same room as the coffee machine. Breakfast was served in a nice room with tablecloths but coffee was again from those pre-fab type machines. Perhaps other rooms are larger but beside the location there are better places to stay.
Everything. When I checked out they asked me to pick up my luggage from their closet as the staff couldn't be bother. Rude staff at rhe front desk is really a turn off
Friendly staff - pleasant and helpful. Good breakfast. Lovely terrace to sit out. Two bottles of wine during our time there compliments of the hotel - lovely! Excellent location. Major sights easily walkable. Railway and bus stations 10 mins walk. Large room and bathroom. Historical connections - painted ceilings / wide stairways etc.
Our room could have done with an update ie. painting / new carpets.
I liked the spacious quad room; the old world decore, and that we had not one single snag or problem
too many tourists in the street. Hi hi
The location and oldness of the place
The hotel is in a great location, just 2 minutes walk from the duomo in the center and 5 minutes from the train station. The manager, or at least the main clerk is really nice and good, but his colleagues are not. Breakfast is decent. The bottom line is location, location, location - but not more than that.
The AC didnt work the first day we got there, and the clerk in the night shift couldn't move us to another room. So we spent the night with an open window to the main street with buses not allowing us to sleep at all. The next morning, we got a better room where the AC was sort of working... I was desperate and didn't feel like changing rooms again. So i think, in general - the AC just doesn't work in this hotel. Other than that, the rain and hail we had one night caused the TV and the elevator not to work... says something about the maintenance in this hotel. The shower\tub had a really poor stream and there is not ventilation in the bathroom at all...
Everything. We had the Presidential Room and it was wonderful. Close to the sights and our favourite restaurant, Giglio Rosso ristorante ,nothing ever too much trouble from the happy and helpful staff. We hope to stay there again.
We liked everything.
The hotel had old world style and comfort even though was a little worn which lent to its charm. Our room was spacious and had a full bath.Great breakfast room with plentiful choices of food.
The WIFI reception was poor.
The building has many historic features- our room was an odd shape but had stained glass and a frescoed ceiling. Reception staff were frindly and helpful and breakfast was the usual selection of cakes, rolls, cheese meat etc. there was also a coffee machine where you could buy coffee for 50 cents.
Very little not to like although there was a lot of noise from the street outside first thing in the morning. Our room only had a shower - our daughter' s had a much bigger bathroom with a bath so if a bath is important to you you would need to ask when you book.
Could be better
Location, room size, staff, wifi, breakfast
Stayed here several times before, very friendly staff, room nice and clean, continental breakfast . Five minute walk from railway station and a five minutes walk from the Duomo and markets
Nothig to say about location. Close to everything, the central station, the duomo, the santa maria novelle and all the history sights
No sound proofs room. U can hear everything from other rooms and from outside. Really hate the door since it's small and everytime it closed by itself it made really loud noise. Eventhough we stayed in the first floor which has the strongest signal of wifi, we stull got no internet in our room. We have to walk out to the corridor to use internet
Very convenient location, close to the historical sites. Good selection of food for breakfast. Very good reception staff.
Great location. Easy access to Station and major tourist areas. Enjoyed old fashioned charm of the hotel, comfortable bed and good breakfasts. WiFi worked well.
Maintenance on bathroom fittings a bit lax.
very close to train and to everything excellent location breakfast was excellent
