The view was great even now in December! We liked the location, even though after a whole week there, we really got a bit tired of driving downhill and uphill every day... I'm happy that we got a price 50% off. The rooms are not so clean (very dusty floor), the room was cold (only one small radiator for room and bathroom, it took a long time for hot water to start running - obviously the hotel is meant for summer time, very hard and uncomfortable matresses, it's not so peaceful location (there is a church next to hotel, that rings a bell every half hour - night and day, their dog was barking very often)...

We booked this hotel as a jumping off point for the rest of Tuscany and it was great for that. We arrived late at night and our gps had no trouble getting us there. Yes it is up and the mountains and don’t worry if you think your lost just go a bit further. The Hotel staff was very friendly and the owners/operators speak great English. Whatever your plans make sure you have dinner there at least once. Ours was fantastic and one of the best meals and buys of our trip. I highly recommend having the T-Bone steak with Chianti. We ended up grabbing a few bottles of wine (Chianti from around the area) and olive oil (also local from the Pistoia area) from the hotel before leaving. One other suggestion, if you let the hotel know ahead of time that you would like something special like more wine selection or your a cheese buff or what not then they will be happy to help prepare something so you can try things from the region. By the time we realized what great help the staff were it was the last night almost. When we come back to Tuscany we will certainly stay here again. For price, central location, friendless of staff and tastiness of food it would be hard to beat. No compaints really, the floors are not carpeted so just be aware that you are in a more rustic setting and it would be near impossible to keep everything completely clean. Other than that the hot water went out on us but the staff had it fixed soon after we let them know.

We loved our stay at Arcobaleno. The surroundings are stunning. All staff were helpful and created a relaxed atmosphere. The pool was lovely although insects were a bit of a problem. Our room was spacious and our balcony view was of the pool and the hills. Wonderful!. We had hoped to play tennis on the courts but there were no racquets. Hotel owner offered to pay for new ones but we didn't get around to buying any. Dined in a few nights and the food was good. Only issue we had was that we were given the menu verbally which gave the impression there was no scope for choice and we then noticed that the italian speaking guests seemed to have meals that were not on the menu. After we had booked I was checking the weather forecast and looking on google earth at the landscape etc. Gogle earth and some of the forecasts were putting the temperature at 12 degrees. This was really misleading. Although it was cooler (pleasantly so) than in the city it was really hot even when it was a bit cloudy. The sun between 12 and 3 was blazing hot. Really enjoyed the train journey up to San Momme. I would go again.
