Hotel San Lino is set within the medieval walls of Volterra. It offers grounds with swimming pool and sun terrace where you can enjoy a drink from the bar.

The Hotel la Locanda is in the historical center of Volterra. We are near to the Roman Amphitheatre and to the “Porta Fiorentina”.
Score from 141 reviews Very good
Once a 15th-century Franciscan monastery, Chiostro Delle Monache is just outside Volterra's Etruscan walls, next to the Presidio Ospedaliero Santa Maria Maddalena hospital.
Score from 349 reviews Very good
Just 3 miles from San Gimignano, Le Terre Rosse is close to the Via Francigena, the ancient pilgrim route to Rome.

Location, cleanliness and facilty
great food and staff nice pool area and spa fantastic surroundings
Pool and view
Bed was to hard and room to loud in the morning
Staff very nice, pretty view. Recommend without knowing all options.
Poor communications regarding transportation into the town. Given walking directions, later learned there was a shuttle. Tough up hill climb. Restaurant B+, but best option at night because of distance to the town. Shuttle did not run past 7:00 pm. Noisy room, poorly ventilated,
Peacefulness and very helpfull and friendly staff
Think the jacuzzi etc could have been a bit better cared for. Towelling robe for the duration would be a good idea
Ljubazno osoblje.Dobar dorucak.
Internet nije dostupan u sobi.
Friendly staff, good breakfest, excellent pool.
A little bit far from tha city centre
The entrance to Le Fonti gives you a feeling of luxury, and when you enter the terraces with the views you are on top of Tuscany. Breakfast is very good and the restaurant with its wine is excellent. This is a hotel we definitely will return to.
Location shower staff
The hotel is a great location to walk into the town. It is quite a slope but took us about 10 minutes. Great for coming home to enjoy the pool and views of the country after shopping and visiting the town. Again very suitable to walk into town again in the evening for dinner. The breakfast was good and varied. Room had a great view of the pool area and countryside
The pool bar/restaurant is not fitting this hotel. If you want a snack it's premade all on paper type plates with plastic cups. Whilst this is suitable for small kids, we would have enjoyed a freshly made salad served on proper crockery and cutlery and some wine in a wine glass.
the restaurant the bar area and terrace the swimming pool the spa
the bedroom needs updating with fabrics and furnishings more information re the hotel and its facilities should have been provided in the room more information about the local area also to peruse at leisure in the room would have been helpful
Great view Pool Food Clean room
Poor wifi downtown uphills only for trained people by foot
Stunning view of the countryside over the pool. Hotel provided a bottle of Prosecco as it was our wedding anniversary . Nice out of town retreat.
Room decor needs an upgrade.
Despite the hotel is little bit old, the panaroma from the rooms and the pool is excellent. The staff is helpful. Thanks for the small gift...
- excellent restaurant - very friendly staff
The hotel did not have a shuttle service to the town. One must either take a cab, walk ( despite the fact that we walk a lot during vacations and are very much in shape, we could not walk the steep hills); fortunately, we discovered a bus stop near the hotel.
Well planned rooms. Quiet and peaceful. Pool, restaurant and overall service.
Steep walk to the village.
Fantastic view from rooms and pool over rolling Tuscan hills
nice view nice swimming pool location, good walking distance to centre volterra (steep hill wasa challenge)
The views were fantastic
The walls were thin and you could hear your neighbours
mediocre breakfast, walk to old city. They should provide shuttle.
Quiet area to sit back and relax, enjoy the pool and deck, or explore the region - it is all right there.
Tour groups tend to take over the hotel at times
Car park Restaurant Pool Access to Volterra (very steep though!) The views across the countryside. Staff
The worst room in the hotel. It's over the kitchen so you can't open the window because of the frying and cooking and the kitchen staff banter is disturbingly loud along with them smoking right underneath the window. It was the only room left on arrival and would have been changed on request the next day.
the pool area is great and everything about the hotel is excellent
the need to go to the lobby for internet connection
Good location (10min walk to the oldtown over a steep way), lots of free parking places in front of the Hotel; nice breakfast buffet; very nice staff at the reception (gave good recommendations for restaurants and exploring the oldtown) and in the bar/restaurant,nice view from the terrace and pool area, good rooms, all together good value for money
poor WIFI connection, average age of the guests is quite high
