Masseria Sant'Elia is a historic property, actually a former convent, set in the Itria Valley 5 minutes' drive from Martina Franca. It offers characteristic rooms with stone walls and floors.

Breakfast was great.
Room location was about as bad as it could be. First floor across hall from a function room in which was a large family Christmas party. Noisy until after midnite. Outside in the garden Christmas carols blared away from very loud speakers. There was no getting away from all the noise except to turn up the volume on the tv which led to a call from the front desk asking me to turn the sound down. It wasn't that loud but the walls were not insulated. Oh, and something in my evening meal made me throw it all up at about 1am.
The breakfast was really good with a wide selection of everything.
The location was a bit outside of the old town and centre. Almost every restaurant and bar were closed so it was hard time to find a proper trattoria to eat dinner, except two or three pizzerias. A quite far walk to the train station. The staff was not able to speak much English and did not even explain that there was a local Holiday during the two days we were there and did not bother to mention to us about the Fiesta celebration of Saint Martinus or the big market the next Morning just in front of our hotel. A four star hotel should do a little more than just give you the key and collect the key. Should learn the Basics of English as we did learn in Italian.
Helpful, pleasant staff. Enormous, comfortable room. Excellent breakfast, with a very wide selection by Italian norms - both sweet and savoury. Easy to park. Location pretty handy for the old town - only a 5 to 10 minute walk.
The décor and appearance of the hotel is generally pretty jaded. This is true of the rooms, the exterior and the public areas. Quite pricey.
Loved the ambiance of the old hotel, once a duke's home. Lovely, large garden with pool, long veranda overlooking it. Easy walking distance to historic center, shops and restaurants. Good food in pretty restaurant with great service, and hearty free breakfast spread including made-to-order omelets. Spacious, clean room with comfortable bed.
Didn't like that tub had only a hand-held shower. Didn't like the modern style of the room's furniture, at odds with rest of hotel. Lighting in room was very dim.
The breakfast is good with, eggs, etc. There is no a breast variety of fruit of yogurt, but a lot of Sweet pastry.
Great atmosphere, lovely setting, great location to see a beautiful city. Great breakfast.
They didn't explain the local market cuts the hotel off, the exit to the car park blocked by stalls. Havng to drive through the bustling market was taxing, not to mention the ripe insults coming from the market goers. Great hotel but they were unable to make the basic of Italian cocktails the Negroni, with flat prosecco also being serverd, and a poor delivery of apperitivo snacks!
This hotel is nicely situated just a short walk to the walled city of Martina Franca. We had a lovely room with a large balcony overlooking the pool and gardens. The included breakfast was excellent, and the restaurant in the hotel is really good and reasonably priced; we had dinner there every night. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. This is a lovely place to stay while exploring Martina Franca!
We liked everything about it.
A little bit like stepping back in time however the hotel has lots of charm and elegance. Our room wasn't very large but it was comfortable and clean. Hotel gardens are quite extensive with a lovely terrace for breakfast and catching the late evening sun. We didn't try out the pool as it was very bright green and looked in need of a clean. Hotel staff were very helpful, particularly all of the gentlemen on reception who went out of their way for 4 days to help us get back our missing Alitalia luggage. Location is a short walk from the beautiful old town and an easy walk to the station to catch trains to the other white towns in the area. Would definitely recommend.
The staff were very helpful and friendly.
Hotel was a little tired and dated. Food quite bland.
We liked the nice and great garden, the breakfast, the very kind waiter, some parts of the interior, and the good location.
Location, facilities, staff, food. It was such a lovely experience
This is wonderful, slightly old fashioned hotel. The food was excellent especially the breakfasts. Pool are great . The staff really looked after my wife and me.
Not enough loungers around pool. Wifi a little intermittent in our bedroom The shower was minuscule. No proper bar area so we felt a little lost at times. Hotel ought to provide more information for the guests. You could always ask at reception but you do not always want to do so, so a better folder in English would help.
Wow stay here. Nice rooms great gardens and pool. The breakfast was fantastic. Staff so helpful and friendly. Good location nice easy walk to old town for a great evening.
Location, a nice park with swimmingpool, friendly staff, excellent breakfast, nice room with a lot of space, and free parking on premises.
Room was palatial: fridge, a/c, tv, minibar fridge. Location was good, staff was helpful. Breakfast is quite fine: omelets to order on weekends. Bath is nice but tub w/ no shower curtain takes some getting used to.
In short: no wifi during my whole 3-night stay - not the hotel's fault, but . . . other places had it, as this hotel normally does. By the time of checkout, they could not accept credit cards because the line was down: were asking people for cash and pointing to the atm across the street! This is not what one expects from a hotel of this quality. I needed to work and was directed to a cafe some blocks away. :-(
The breakfast, the swimming pool.
Although a bit old aged.
The central position of the hotel and the park like gardens
I would have preferred a shower over the bath rather than the hand held shower/hair washing type of installation
Location for visiting area.
Hotel rather impersonal and 'tired'.
Friendly and helpful staff
The garden area
The furniture is old, the wifi connection is rubbish and it's very noisy
big room, great staff
Location is OK, center at walking distance, free parking, old hotel but with the typic atmosphere/glory of the old days, but all was clean, bath with bubbels (was fantastic), breakfast was good, very friendly staff, nice garden
Had a meal in the Hotel restaurant one evening. Very overpriced for a less than mediocre meal.
The staff were absolutely amazing. Hotel room generous, parking included and right next to the entrance and breakfast was delicious and the best pastries from Istanbul to Rome.
The hotel was a little dated but had character.
