The hotel is a very interesting historical pallazzo from the end of the 18th century in a place that hosted through history figures such as Byron and Michel de Montaigne, attracted by the sorroundings and the thermal springs in the area. As such the hotel is a way of travelling into the past while benefiting from modern facilities at an incredible price. The breakfast is great, including locally made traditional jams and meat dishes. The location in a moutain region and near the Garfagnana nature park enbles in the same time a tuscan vineyard visiting vacation as a more active one like hikking or trekking. The rooms on the street (that are less pricey) are rather rumorous and could use some more precise cleaning. Having said that there is every day changing of towels and sheets.

An old Italian property, situated in a peaceful area,It does not have a bar or restaurant, but these are in close proximity. The staff were most personable and obliging, and our room suited every need, with a very comfortable bed.

I loved the situation of the hotel right in the centre of the village, with access to cafés, restaurants, supermarket etc on the doorstep. At the same time, the pool facilities were excellent and private and the building itself was charming. The owner was most helpful and the staff were lovely, without being overly familiar. Overall a good balance of information, friendliness and helpfulness made our stay very memorable The only drawback was the absence of air conditioning as the temperatures reached 40 degrees during my stay and while the shutters help, it can be hard to sleep in such heat when one is unaccustomed to it.

Very friendly and helpful staff. The pool was very enjoyable, although not quite necessary had we known about Villa Ada just up the hill, where there is a much better pool open to the public. Good location right on Bagni Di Lucca's second town square. Clean rooms, you can get wine in the bar, everything was fine.

The staff were very kind and helpful It had a good size pool for the number of rooms we asked for two rooms adjacent to each other an e mail was sent saying they could offer a larger room said yes as assumed this meant the rooms were next door to each other, not the case

The staff of the hotel is extremely helpful and friendly. They spent a lot of time with us to point out the best hiking trails, sights to see and restaurants to visit. The location is excellent and the pool is very relaxing after a long day of hiking.

This hotel is in an 18th century "palazzo" The rooms are large and decorated in the Italian style. Very charming. The view from our front room window into the yard across the street was magnificent. This hotel is approximately 10 miles outside Lucca in the Tuscan Hills. Don't miss the "Devils Bridge" The Madelena Bridge, in the area, We had dinner at the nearby (sister) Hotel Corona. on the ririver bank. It was memorable. The breakfast was varied and delicious. The entire staff especially Enzo were very helpful.

We only stayed for one night but the Hotel was great, the staff was really helpfull. Great place to stay if you are going to visit the nice cave of Grotta Del Vento and also we visited a nice village of which the staff had told us about it Braga. As I had read before booking this hotel it is on a main road but we did manage to have a good night sleep as during the night not many cars pass. It was nice waking up hearing the birds:)

We actually stayed at the sister Hotel Corona since the Regina was closed because of a fault with the heating system. We found the staff very friendly and helpful and always willing to provide service quick;y. The accomodation was clean and comfortable and warm. The buffet breakfast provided all that we needed and was available over an extended period. The staff did all they could to make our stay an enjoyable one. Nothing as we considered it good value for the cost.

“The hotel reminded me of a Graham Greene novel. It was slightly (and I mean ever so slightly) jaded spendor. It felt like the home of great nobility of latter day. The staff spoke good english and were very friendly. I was late for breakfast one day and was treated to a selection of items from the kitchen without any problem. I will certainly be back.” Linda, Penwortham Preston |
