This hotel is living on long past plaudits. It does not deserve its current rating. Staff are surly and poorly trained, for example cleaners talked loudly in corridors before 8am, breakfast staff were forgetful, let food get cold etc. Staff have not been taught/forgotten one of the primary purposes of hoteliers, that is quality service with a smile. The air conditioning did not work so the rooms were too hot, The hotel reception claimed it had been turned off; why would you do that when the temperature in the rooms was about 25-26 degrees cent? There is insufficient hangers and cupboard space for people on holiday who are the vast majority of their clientèle. It has no wifi, no real facilities in terms of a lounge, fitness centre etc In summary it is old fashioned. Staff and the facilities in the hotel urgently require updating.

This large grand older hotel is in an excellent location to explore the older areas of Lecce. The hotel staff were very professional and very helpful with parking requirements etc. The breakfast served was excellent - plenty of choices. Beautiful hotel overall, great charm & value for the money we paid.

It was a luxury 5 star hotel which was not over-the-top but low key, efficient, and elegant (art deco) and not too expensive. The breakfasts were extremely good-- lavish but not excessive. The staff at reception were always very helpful, the dining room staff also were alert and attentive. An extremely elegant and well-run hotel. The reception area with a selection of newspapers (one in English) was pleasant and comfortable.

The knock at the door in the evening with the maid bearing a tiny cake (factory-made) and wanting to turn down the sheets already turned down by us as we were resting. I do wish luxury hotels would give up on this practice.

Beautiful hotel in a wonderful city. They were very accommodating, even though we made our reservation at the last minute via Booking.com. Despite numerous signs throughout the town directing us, we had a hard time finding it since it is tucked away in a beautiful piazza with limited access. But it was worth the hunt!
