Facing Santa Maria Novella Church, Hotel Elite is a small property in the historic center of Florence. It features simple rooms with free Wi-Fi and air conditioning.
Score from 358 reviews Good
This is a good cheap hotel-run as a family business, very much in the style of the old pensiones (or the movie ROOM WITH A VIEW). The location is wonderful-if you use the shortcut going by the VIA DELL ALBERO,you are just 5minutes from the SMN station. Likewise the Wi-Fi was very good.
The big difference between 2star and 3star hotels is with air-conditioning.If you don't have it you need to remember to shut the windows before it gets dark otherwise you get invaded by midges and other insects. In this respect (and some others) the hotel Patrizia is somewhat spartan. But it is ideal for backpackers, and for oldsters such as me,who remember FLORENCE-AS-IT-WAS.
The staff were so nice and so co-operative, it is located very close to American embassy in Florence where I wanted to go in early morning. the breakfast was a little bit good.
The hotel is very old, no air condition, no wifi signal, no TV, no light in bathroom, smelly room, a lot of mosquitos and the room was too hot. I did not sleep a minute.. terrible accommodation.
Very good location Very nice owner and staff
No Air conditioning or television
Nothing like website. Rooms have damaged walls. No TV that works, no hairdryer, no internet. Cannot open windows at night unless you want to be eaten by mosquitos. Close them in summer and it will be as hot as a sauna. The worst experience I have ever had
Location is not far from Historical Center of Florence
Breakfest is terrible. Everywhere in the Hotel there is a nasty Smell. I don't recomment to anyone to book this hotel
LOCATION GREAT GOOD FOR STUDENTS ONLY
VERY HARD BEDS NO SOAP WIFI POOR CRACKED TOILET SEAT
Perfect location - 10 min walking from the railway station. Coffee was very delicious! Thanks for it :)
Hotel is clean but poor - old furniture, it needs good renovation. The hairdryer in my bathroom was broken. Price for this hotel is expensive. For this money I had a 4* hotel in Milano. It was noisy in the hotel because some young people from UK (maybe from other country - I'm not sure) have done what they wanted - speaking at skype with their mums at the hall or simply in the rooms with opened doors! Breakfast was very poor. Wifi had slow speed.
Nice location; next to Train Station and downtown. Attendant explained how to go in all touristical places.
Breakfast is not so good.
Big room for a single person; relatively clean; near to the central station.
Poor and unstable internet connection in the room.
Very nice hotel, somclosed to the centre and train station. When we arrived we met an owner. He was very nice to us, told us a lot about the city, great places and tasty restourants. Thank you a lot. Room is big and clean. The furniture is old, but i like this style. The room has a big window/balcony (love it). Highly recommended is you want to know the other side of Florence!
Friendly staff, easy location.
The front desk individual and the individual in the dinning were excellent!
The hotel was located on the fourth floor of a very large building with many flights of stairs and no signage of which floor to go to. People with large luggage had to take the most unstable and tiny two person elevator. Everything was dark and appeared extremely old. The room was in a corner on the fifth floor and was only accessible through a very narrow flight of stairs from within the fourth floor. The wifi connectivity was unstable and unreliable even in the lobby. There were cigarette burn marks on the blankets. The hair dryer was ripped off. The TV was broken. The shower door was broken and would not close and the drain was completely clogged causing the bathroom to flood after even a short shower. The towels provided were made of a sheet like material rather than towel material. The breakfast was very minimal consisting of a roll of bread and cheese with coffee. This was one of the worst hotels we have ever stayed at and the price of 90 Euros made it that much worse. VERY UNHAPPY!
Location is great, just a few minutes walk from the airport shuttle bus terminal and from Ponte Vecchio, but also very quiet. I don't understand the comment about the building and lift. Both are old but in good condition and the lift works smoothly and silently. The building is so solid there is no vibration. Breakfast is simple but plentiful. Overall perfectly satisfactory.
Furnishings of the room and bathroom would benefit from updating and rectification of minor defects but nothing significant to spoil our stay.
location is good
hair dryer is broken
Moving to another hotel.
This was the worst place I have ever stayed. I didn't want to touch anything. It was dirty and dusty and dated. The bathroom flooded without us even using it. They moved us to a different "bigger room". The only outlet was above (yes above) the bathroom door. We had to put a chair on a desk to charge a camera battery. There were wires hanging out of the wall and the hair dryer hose was shredded but still hanging on the wall. The shower door was broken so they just hung a shower curtain which could be fine but just caused another flood. The internet only worked sporadically and only in the gross lobby. They wanted you to leave your room key at the unmanned front door when you went out. No security what so ever. Do Not Stay Here
very near to Arno River. you must walk a 8-10 minutes to train station S.M.N. and it can be a advantage. Breakfast good.
internet does not work
location is close to the main attraction.
The building & lift is too old. In-fact the floor of the room also vibrates too much if you walk inside room. You will feel this vibration also through the noise when wooden bed and wardrobe touches the floor after every movement on floor.
The hotel (if it's a hotel) if extremely well situated. This + the small cost makes it a pefect choice for non-choosey people.
It's not exactly a hotel... I mean, the reception guy told me that breakfast is from 7:30 - 10:30.. I got up early and couldn't find a single soul near the reception / cafeteria till about 8:10 (the same reception guy overslept (even the door bell couldn't wake him) and no one else was there.... And the breakfast is very unimposing...
The hotel is within walkable distance from the train station, and the staff are very friendly and helpful.
They change bed sheets when I asked and hotel owner said bed sheets are changed on every 3days. Breakfast is not worth to be called as breakfast. A small bread and butter. Worst thing is construction is on-going 7 days of a week and 8 hours of a day (and more. Started about 7am till 5 or 6 pm) when I stayed there. It is not definitely painting job as they claimed but sawing and maintenance work. When I arrived at hotel at night, old couple were at the counter who can barely speak English. When I enter the room. They show the room and showed me how to open the window (which is construction site) they advised to open to window to refresh the room which is all the dusts are coming in. Told them several times not to open (never) the window because obviously refreshing air is not the case. But whenever I came back at night window was open. No one wants to wake up with construction noisy (sawing and machine noise and workers conversation). Which is coming from right out side of window. Thanks to booking.com customer service team, I can checked out earlier than my original booking days without paying any unnecessary money. I sincerely ask to consider to drop them from booking.com website. It will ruin your reputation
friendly staff, just 7 minutes walk from places like Palazzo Vecchio, good value for money
in my room there was no real window (covered from the outside, probably just a tiny courtyard): if you visit the city and stay just at night in the hotel, it really doesn't matter...
noise, repairs in the building, the poor, old and worn-out equipment rooms
Staff are excellent
It was the WORST hotel we stayed in my life. I do not know places like this appear in the Booking. I had a reservation for 5 days and left immediately.
