Built in 1908, the Saturnia & International is an elegant hotel run by the Serandrei family, located 215 yards from St Mark’s Square.

Hotel La Calcina is in the Zattere area, one of the most picturesque in Venice. It offers views of the Giudecca canal, elegant rooms with free Wi-Fi, and a restaurant open to the public.

This elegant 12th-century building was once home to the Doge Marino Falier. Just 1000 ft from Rialto Bridge, it offers elegant rooms with antique furniture and original paintings.

A quality boutique hotel in a very desirable location. Nice and helpful staff and in a location the is just off the beaten trail. It has a lovely garden, something unusual for Venice, and nice seating both open and semi private. breakfast is well done.
Great place Nice area Quiet
The cost was high but seems pretty good for venice No markets nearby
The place is charming! Beautiful grounds, very close to the Ponte Accademia - one of the main bridges in Venice. The staff is wonderful. I have stayed there several times as have members of my family and friends. All loved it!
Very pleasant and helpful staff.
Bed was rather short (for me).
The room was crowded with old furniture that was not neede and reduced the space. The bathroom was small and hard to use. The cappucino was just warm and not very good.
Beautiful view of the canal. Peaceful and private courtyard.
The staff were always friendly and extremely accommodating. The breakfast buffet was divine. Although the location is not the most central its easy to get around the city on the water taxis. We would stay there again given the next opportunity.
The rooms and especially the shower was too small!! But I guess that's Venice for you.
Staff were excellent (thank you, Luciano!); Breakfast was good; Room was nice and comfy; Beautiful building with a lot of character; Lots of places in the garden and outside to lounge.
Strong perfumed/cleaner smell whenever the air conditioning was used.
Good views, great location & the best hotel staff.
Room space (suite), garden
Unfriendly staff, over pricing, unfair hotel policy (e.g. hotel charged additional headcounts for little kids even though they did not occupy extra beds), a bit far from main tourist spots in Venice
Many places to sit in two different gardens, on a canal but private, near one of only two bridges across the grand canal, beautiful facilities, helpful staff, water taxi picks up and delivers to the door
Breakfast was just fine but not terribly inspired, access to the wonderful room involved stairs that might be difficult for some
The location is wonderful, the staff is quite accomodating and nice. We loved our stay here. Having stayed in Venice many times including places such as the Gritti Palace, this hotel is more than satisfactory especially since one does not stay in their rooms or hotel for any length of time while in Venice.
We enjoyed this hotel as the staff went out of their way to assist us. We have been to Venice a number of times, but wanted to go to Isola Torcello & needed assistance with the vaporetto route. They were very interested and kind. The hotel is clean and spacious. It's across the canal from San Marco Piazza, & can be accessed by vaporetto. We enjoy staying in slightly out of the way areas, & this was wonderful, as it was not in the main area, but only a short distance away, still in a shopping area but out of the busy section of the city.
There was nothing we didn't like about Pensione Accademia.
It is truly a plus to have in the Dorsoduro a hotel with a beautiful garden for the guests' use to enjoy and relax. Our room opened directly onto this garden. Unfortunately Venice was in the midst of a rainstorm when we visited this year and we could not enjoy the swing but in other years we have done so. Also breakfast in the front garden, which we could enjoy following the rainstorm, is wonderful. The rooms are comfortably furnished and supplied with amenities. It is a fabulous place to stay in Venice.
There are no disappointments at the Pensione Academia!
The staff were friendly and helpfull and the hotel was clean. The decor captured the spirit of Venice and we felt like we were staying in an old Venetian Pallazo. The room was very nice and quiet, with a canal view. The hotel is set in very picturesque gardens, just off the Grand Canal. It was in a less touristy area, however, it was still only a 10 minute walk to St. Marks Square and close to several good, reasonably priced restaurants. It was also close to the Accademia Museum and the Peggy Guggenheim Collection. It is a 5 minute walk to the hotel from the Accademia Vaperetto stop. Breakfast was great and served in the serene gardens. This hotel is very romantic and a very special find. We loved it!
The only negative I have is that we only stayed 1 night.
very nice view of the canals from the room's windows (but only 2 rooms have this view); good breakfast; very nice decorated library.
- there is no elevator, so it is very very difficult for travelers with luggage - the location is quite far from main square, which requires more than 40' walking. - no internet is available in rooms; only at reception and library. - I asked for late check out, which was confirmed by booking.com via email. However, the hotel totally denied this. After all, hotel offered checking out at 3:00pm, but it was very confusing and frustrated; the gentleman at reception looked like I was trying to cheat on them.
The hotel has two courtyards and a small landing for watercraft. I'll have to bring my girlfriend next time as this is a very romantic setting. Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. I'll look no further on my next visit...I'll stay there again.
The staff were friendly except one employee. The hotel is close to the water bus station but really hard to find as the sign is not clear at all. We got lost and checked in at around 10 p.m. breakfast was good. I really don't recommend sleeping in Venice because most of the hotels, as we learned later on, have no elevators! imagine we had to carry our luggage ourselves and drag them using very uncomfortabe stairs to reach our room.
The room was really old. We were told that the hotel was an old building that was turned into a hotel but really we just wanted a comfortable, clean modern room. There was an unpleasant smell in the room too and the stairs were not comfortable to take but you have no choice as there is no elevator in the building. I really don't recommend sleeping in Venice .. just go to it early and spend the day then go back at night.
We had a wonderful stay at Pensione Accademia. Perfect location. Easily found, even when you get lost amongst the canals! Staff very helpful. Gorgeous gardens to relax in. Rooms very comfortable and clean. Would recommend to anyone.
breakfast messy too many pigeons
Good staff overall and they honored our room request for one quiet and one with canal view. They even made us to go breakfast bag the day we left our hotel very early for the airport. The grounds were gorgeous.
Location, small venue, lovely grounds, good breakfast, friendly staff.
The position, garden and main villa are beautiful. It is a privilege to stay there. The position with its own docking area means you can arrive and depart by water taxi which is fun and saves trying to find your way there lugging heavy luggage. The staff are helpful.
Some rooms are up narrow staircases but staff will help with luggage. there is no lift.
Beautiful garden, friendly staffs at the breakfast buffet, an authentic hotel.
