La Pensione Svizzera is a classic, small and charming hotel. Owned by the Vinciguerra family since 1925, it is located on one of the most beautiful, panoramic roads of Taormina. La Pensione Svizzera is within a short walking distance from the historic center of town with its Greek amphitheater, from the cable car and the bus terminal. The establishment's atmosphere is familiar and peaceful. Buffet breakfast is served in the garden or in the garden pavilion. La Pensione Svizzera offers parking or garage services upon request, front desk service 24 hours, bar, internet point and a shuttle service to the private beach (from May to October). The team at the reception desk is extremely helpful. Let them arrange tennis and diving reservations, airport limousine shuttle service and individual excursions. The staff can also book bus excursions, reserve you a restaurant, and help you rent a car. La Pensione Svizzera may only be bookable for long stays of 2 or more nights (6 or more nights in August). Great location and a very comfortable establishment. Views from upper floors are great and worth the effort. Great breakfast. Charming and helpful staff. It was not a problem for me and my wife, however the establivhment has no lift. In the pice about what I liked about the place I did mention effort to get to the upper floors.

Good location - just outside Porta Messina and next to cable car for ldo mazzaro. Very helpful staff at reception who spoke English fluently. Very good breakfast with a good assortment, attention to detail and courteous attending staff. The optional reserved parking just outside the hotel was very convenient. Would definitely stay in this hotel if we had to come back.

Excellent breakfast. Parking (if booked in advance) close by. Fine views over the coast and sea. Friendly reception staff. Well located just outside the busy central area of Taormina. No lift/elevator and our room-with-a-view was on the fourth floor. There is a fifth floor also. There is no porter so we had to carry our two quite heavy cases up ourselves, not so easy when you are in your 70s, even if in good health. Because of this, we would only recommend the hotel to younger travellers or those travelling very light.

Staff were very helpful, and the room was great and extremely clean. Lovely breakfast served overlooking the ocean from the hilltop. We even had an outside balcony with table and chairs, for that extra bit of space, as well as somewhere to put some of our handwashed clothes. Great to have access to a computer for public use. Also great location, as it was close to the bus terminal, the cable car that took you to the beach, and just at the begining of all the wonderful shops and restaurants. Our room had very thin walls, as we could hear those in the adjoining room, and our room may have been next to their laundry, as we often heard lots of water in the pipes in the morning.

The hotel Penzione Svizzera was in a great location and was reasonably priced. The breakfast was really good. The rooms were not fancy, but they were very clean, and some have a very nice view of the sea. The very best aspect of this hotel are the owner and the concierge. They were very helpful and absolutely wonderful!!!!! Made you feel like family! I definitely recommend this hotel if you wish to stay in the city of Taormina.

Our stay at La Pensione Svizzera was very pleasurable due to the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. From the reception staff to the lady that served us our morning coffee, the night porter, the cleaning ladies, every member of staff were a delight to meet and they couldn’t do enough for us. The hotel was kept to a very high standard of cleanliness and was warmly decorated creating a relaxed atmosphere. Our room was of standard size but was well laid out and attended to on a daily basis. The only note of caution I would give is, if your travelling by car make sure to book your parking spot as parking in Toarmina in non-existent.

It was ideally located for our short visit to Toarmina. It was a nice small quiet hotel. It had no lift so we had to carry our suitcases up three flights of stairs. Luckly we were fit enough for the task !

It's an excellent hotel at the most perfect location if you don't have a car. It is just meters away from Taormina bus terminal, so you can walk there - even with a lot of luggage - in no time, you can also check bus departures easily if you plan to visit other attractions in Sicily or if you plan to take the bus to the airport. Even though it is close to the buses, and a busy road its a beautiful historic building looking over the sea with a garden for 'romantic breakfasts'. It takes 3 minutes to walk to the Corso. It takes 30 seconds to walk to the cableway next door, which takes you right to the beach (15 minutes in worst case, but usually 10) so even your trip to the beach is fun. It was a bit noisy during the night, the small road behind the hotel has some traffic, and if you sleep with windows open (which is likely in Sicily in the summer) this can be a minor issue of comfort. The rooms have aircondition (with 'silent mode') though.

We really enjoyed our stay at La Pensione Svizzera. We were so glad that we had chosen this small and friendly hotel. The breakfast was great - good selection of everything and it was lovey to have this on the terrace with great views. Lovely seating areas in the garden/patio to relax and so convenient for Taormina's town centre and to see the sights. Very handy for the amphitheatre. Would really recommend this place and if we go back to Taormina would definitely go back to this hotel. The staff were really helpful Could not really fault it other than as there is no lift in the building it was hard to get our luggage up 2 flights of stairs - but aside from that it is well worth a visit

The hotel is located in the city center, with an easy access to the beach (Isola Bella) by cable car. If you want to have a very rich and various breakfast with an amazing view to the bay, I reccommend this place. :-) Also, the staff was very kind and helpful. I am 100% satisfied with the location and the hotel's services.

“From the friendly reception with a complimentary fresh orange juice to the garden view room with its own balcony we really enjoyed staying at the Villa Schuler. The hotel is very close to the centre with its sights, shopping and restaurants. A waitress served breakfast on the terrace with views to the coast and Etna was a delight. To have a lovely garden as well to sit in and stroll through was an unexpected bonus” Alan, Exeter |
