What a find! As a solo travel using public transport, this small hotel provided everything I needed and more. Within a two minute walk of the bus stop serving the train station, Syracusa, Catania airport, etc., the hotel is perfect for those arriving/departing by bus. It is on the edge of the popular pedestrian zone, an easy and safe five minute walk; also, the funnivia ( cable car), which takes you down to the beach town of Mazzaro, is a short walk up the street. The rooms are pleasant, all with terraces or, like mine, a tiny balcony that is accessed through French doors-- divine!. The view is great-- granted you must look past the tennis court that lies below--but this hotel is a super value in pricey Taormina. The beautiful garden with old palm trees, trumpet vines, and hibiscus overlooks the gorgeous Ionian Sea. Breakfast is served on the patio or in the indoor eating area; lounge on one of the lovely sofas that dot the patio and plan your day. Staff is friendly and helpful, especially the charming Alessia. Small bathroom, but huge, fluffy towels and a lighted mirror, and a shelf for your "stuff", make up for the lack of space. Stay here! You'll love it.
The shower stall was tiny; I'm 5'3" and fairly small. I had trouble getting my arms up to wash my hair without crashing into the sides of the stall. Also, no elevator, although there was a friendly porter who helped me tote my suitcase up the three flights of stairs.
