Mendolia Beach Hotel is located on the seaside of Taormina, just 100 metres from the funicular to the historic centre.

The Villa Schuler, a luxurious hotel open since 1905, is surrounded by its own extensive subtropical gardens offering views of Mount Etna and Naxos Bay.

The Sirius is a small hotel in a quiet location, just over half a mile from the center of Taormina and the pedestrian area of Corso Umberto, which is full of shops and restaurants.

Location, appearance, staff, breakfast was wonderful
Having to leave!
The location was great with paid reserved parking, just one minute's walk from the main gates.the room was large and comfortable for my family of 3. The breakfast was very good and the staff extremely friendly. Ogerall I felt it was great value for money but beware there is no lift.
Nothing. Enjoy your stay!
It was professional and clean. Lovely large rooms.
It was fairly basic and a little noisy on the road occasionally.
Relaxing stay in a great location. Comfortable rooms but not going to blow your socks off. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Location and view
Small rooms and no wifi in rooms
The location and staff at La Pensione Svizzera made it a very nice place for us to stay for our last 2 nights in Sicily. We didn't have a seaview room (would have been good) but the accommodation was very clean and comfortable. The hotel is very close to everything, facilities relaxing and the staff extremely friendly and helpful.
Breakfast items ran out one morning
The location of this hotel is great, close to bus terminal and even closer to the cable car. We took great advantage of using both these services. The buses are a really cheap way to get around Taormina and surrounding areas. The cable car is a quick and easy way to get to the beautiful beaches.
The garden area is beautifully set out with very comfortable furniture, however it has no atmosphere what so ever. A little background music may have been nice.
What a find! As a solo travel using public transport, this small hotel provided everything I needed and more. Within a two minute walk of the bus stop serving the train station, Syracusa, Catania airport, etc., the hotel is perfect for those arriving/departing by bus. It is on the edge of the popular pedestrian zone, an easy and safe five minute walk; also, the funnivia ( cable car), which takes you down to the beach town of Mazzaro, is a short walk up the street. The rooms are pleasant, all with terraces or, like mine, a tiny balcony that is accessed through French doors-- divine!. The view is great-- granted you must look past the tennis court that lies below--but this hotel is a super value in pricey Taormina. The beautiful garden with old palm trees, trumpet vines, and hibiscus overlooks the gorgeous Ionian Sea. Breakfast is served on the patio or in the indoor eating area; lounge on one of the lovely sofas that dot the patio and plan your day. Staff is friendly and helpful, especially the charming Alessia. Small bathroom, but huge, fluffy towels and a lighted mirror, and a shelf for your "stuff", make up for the lack of space. Stay here! You'll love it.
The shower stall was tiny; I'm 5'3" and fairly small. I had trouble getting my arms up to wash my hair without crashing into the sides of the stall. Also, no elevator, although there was a friendly porter who helped me tote my suitcase up the three flights of stairs.
Good reception and helpful personnel. Room a bit small. Very good breakfast in a very nice outdoor garden. Charming place. Parking on a public road but OK.
Bathroom was OK with some humidity and smell… Additional maintenance (scrubbing in the corners, repair to leaking drain…) would be beneficial... Our special request for a quiet room with a view was not fulfilled. Our window was just above a noisy panoramic road of Taormina, our door next to a common room with a computer and the view was a plain painted wall from the house across the narrow road. Definitively expensive for what we had when compared to the 15 or so other places we have been staying in Sicily. Taormina may be famous for some of its panoramas but it not necessarily worth spending more than a few hours...
Location , service, attentive and very accommodating staff who could not do enough for you
Depending on your room location there were a number of stairs to climb which may not suit everyone
Helpful staff and great views from upper floors.
Breakfasts - disappointing quality of food and poor choice. Also noisy washing up done in the dining room by the only member of staff who didn`t seem happy in her job.
Very friendly helpful staff. Great location. Excellent room
Some items weren't available if you got to breakfast toward the end of the breakfast time.
Close to bus station, great and helpful staff with excellent English skills, beautiful building with very nice terrace, and great breakfast.
Nothing is too much. They really know how to run a hotel and treat guests. We will stay here again!
Nothing to say, it is excellent.
Extensive breakfast selection Great location just a few minutes to central Taormina Book a car parking space Rooms at the top would have a wonderful view Our triple room had a limited view but nice little terrace with table & chairs.
You need to be a confident driver in Sicily! Narrow streets and little regard for safety. Check you are fully insured! If you take a car to this hotel - book a parking space.
Room small but comfortable
The hotel is lovely, well located and the staff were very helpful. It has a lovely outdoor area for relaxing and for breakfast. The parking provided was very important to us.
A little awkward to access because it is on a one-way street but we stopped first and asked.
Spacious, clean, comfortable room. Excellent keep-fit facilities climbing the stairs to our room. Friendly and helpful staff. Amazing views. Good quality air-conditioning. Perfect location for exploring Taormina and its surroundings on foot and by car.
Thin walls- could hear the people in the next room whenever they used the bathroom.
From the 3rd floor (4th floor U.S. count) the view from #15 was splendid. The room was small, but the bed was very comfortable. The staff was welcoming and very helpful. The bus station is 1/2 block away and it was very simple to get to the Catania airport. Cost only €7.50! Breakfast was varied and plentiful. I recommend the hotel, if you are fit and able to climb stairs, as there is no elevator, as the location is convenient and calm.
My room did not have a little refrigerator, which I found in all the other places I've stayed in Sicily, so that was an unwelcome surprise. Also, it would have been nice to have a small bottle of water as a welcome amenity.
Staff is super friendly, best location (close to the cable car and city center), nice view on the bay
poor Wi-Fi signal quality, pillows quite uncomfortable in my opinion (not so soft, but depends on your preference)
We loved absolutely everything at this small but comfortable hotel. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel so welcome...it was more like staying with friends from a comfort point of view & everything throughout our 8 day stay was just superb.
Nothing to add in this section!!!!
Location was excellent -parking although expensive was well organised . Breakfast choice was good .
A lack of staff at breakfast consequently food not replenished regularly. No lift in hotel - so 3 floors up difficult to manoeuvre luggage.
The desk staff were very friendly and helpful; we were offered a cold drink on arrival. The room was light and clean, had a desk, chairs, AC and the WiFi worked (though slowly). The breakfasts were very good; they even have teapots (rare in Italy we find). The breakfast room offers a wonderful view over the sea to mountains. The shops, restaurants are a short walk away; there is even a little church next door. Cable car down to the beach is about 50m away.
If only the WiFi was faster, it would be perfect.
Clean and great location. Nice garden where you can have a drink and eat breakfast. Breakfast was great and the guy responsible for it, Matéo, was really good. Air-condition in the room worked really well.
Staff seemed poorly interested in their work apart from Matéo. No useful information when we were checking in. Noise in the room from the street and other rooms. The cleaning staff was sometimes cleaning at 7 in the morning and screaming outside our door. Uncomfortable bed. Humidity in the bathroom and smell coming from toilet and shower- could never really get fresh air in there. It didn't bother us but there is no elevator and there are 4 floors. A loooot of steps!!! Wi-Fi working poorly or not at all. Don't count on having it.
Absolutely everything about this charmingly beautiful hotel. Everything about it is faultless. An oasis of tranquility and enjoyment. Breakfasts were a delight on the terrace and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Wonderful - thank you so much!
