Set near the Grand Canal in the peaceful Cannaregio district of Venice, UNA Hotel Venezia is a 5 minute walk from the Rialto Bridge, and 10 minutes from St. Mark's Square.
Score from 504 reviews Wonderful
The room was clean and spacious for the average room size in Europe. There is a public transport stop just outside the hotel.
The hotel suggests that you walk from the station. While the distance is reasonable it can be very tiring with luggage as the bridges do not have ramps. This is strongly discouraged if you are traveling with seniors. Upon checking in we were not provided with the credentials to use the WiFi despite requesting them earlier. At 8pm we visited the reception to ask for the credentials and there was no one there. The porter had to call the receptionist from one of the meetings room. When she arrived it was apparent that she was sleeping... We were promptly informed that the WiFi is not working and will be fixed by the morning. This did not happen. The breakfast would have been considered decent, but hygiene is an issue. We were provided with coffee that had hair floating on the surface. When we inquired about that we were told "it is just foam" as she pulled the hair out. The coffee was only changed when we voiced our displeasure. When trying to use the hair dryer it fell apart. This appears to be a known issue as there are tape marks on it. However, it is obvious that the hotel does not care as it was not replaced. Having an exposed electrical appliance in the toilet is a major hazard. Unlike other hotels, this isn't located next to the sights. However, Venice is not very large and those sights can be visited by walking 20-30 minutes.
Beautifully furnished rooms, friendly and helpful staff, great atmosphere, excellent location... I would defy anybody not to fall in love with this hotel !
The wifi is a little intermittent but to be honest it didnt matter!
The building is very nice and the location is good.
Wifi, we stayed two nights in the best suite of this hotel without wifi and they didn't accept any penalties for this problem and told us that we could use internet in the hotel which was 5 minutes walking to reach. It is unbelievable to stay in a hotel in this rate without any connection to Internet...and they didn't accept penalties...
Beautiful hotel, very conveniently located next to a water bus station on the Grand Canal and within walking distance to San Marco.Very clean and comfortable with a wonderful breakfast
Throughout our 3 day stay the WiFi did not work and the staff kept saying that the technician will be there soon!! It never happened and I don't believe that it has happened since we left. Typical for most hotels today claiming WiFi which invariably does not work!!
We really like the location of this hotel... but that was the best part of this hotel. The breakfast was quite tasty as well, however, having to make a special request for a cappucino that did not come from a machine seemed less than expected.
The room was musty, pretty and typically Venitian, but musty. The staff were mostly helpful, but thet seemed overworked and unhappy. The wifi was horrible - this to me is as essential as clenaliness as booking any tours, or transportation requires the internet.
Rich Beakfast well decorated ,nice rooms, and most of all the lamps in the rooms.
Poor Wi Fi most of the time .No view at all from the rooms
Super service and the staff were overwhelming rooms were spacious with high ceilings and and huge and wonderful chandeliers location is also very good water front and in the of basically everything
Breakfast was great!!!!! Boat bus is right in front of the Hotel!!!
WiFi was not working in the room!!!! When you asked how to get to the airport, the staff tries to make you use a private transportation at a 120 euros!!! Boat bus is in front of the Hotel and then you take the bus to the airport cost for 2 people 26 euros!!!!
1. The location 20M from the water bus in the midle of Venice. 2. The view from the room to the Canal. (if you have the right room). 3. Comfortable room and beds. 4. A fair breakfast. 5. Excellent Interner with cabel.
It is not recommended to come to Venice during the season of the rissing level of the sea water.
nice room clean with beutifful furniture, very good breakfast,
the wi-fi didn't work in all the five days that we stayed in the hotel
Location location location. Wonderful breakfast, both plentiful and varied. Very characteristically Venetian. Right on the Grand Canal, it has a beautiful sitting area where you can enjoy a bottle of prosecco (bought at the grocery store) and watch the boars go by. Staff were fabulous and very friendly.
The bed was a little hard, but not a deal breaker. The wifi was free but very intermittent.
The location was very convenient - when we hopped off the train, the hotel was right there, and in a rather central location.
The room had "interesting decoration", but parts of the wallpaper is obviously stained, and our room was right where the elevator opened up. The service was "ok", but the staff doesn't really greet you or smile, definitely didn't have a warm vibe. This should be something they should improve on. Excellent location, but room and service should be updated.
Location was better than expected. Room was spectacular, with large chandelier, and stairs leading to a small balcony, and the bathroom! It was possible to see the Grand Canal from the bedroom window. Staff were always friendly, polite & helpful. Bed was very large, and confortable
The Wi-fi was very poor, and some of the room facilities were a bit worn-out - shower head leaked, as did the shower door - wired internet had been removed leaving an open socket - TV was a bit on the small side
Located close to all attractions...staff were very friendly...The theme of the Hotel is very unique and nice for anyone who likes the gothic style
breakfast menu could be improved ...i expected more
Location on grand canal, nice rooms
Poor drinks at breakfast, very small bar
Great location, the hotel was lovely with a nice private garden. The room we were given was brilliant. Staff friendly and ready to help, and could speak very good English.
Breakfast was average, one shower door was missing, bar closed at 10pm.
Going up the stairs to use the bathroom
fantastic location room with a Juliette balcony very venetian in style vapporetto just outside booth table for breakfast own dock for private boat arrival
breakfast was continental which was fine but there was no toast or plain yoghurt
The hotel was very well presented, clean and comfortable. Well situated for the water taxi and other some of the major attractions such as the Rialto bridge
The breakfast let the hotel down. They don't have a restaurant and this was reflected in the quality of what was on offer. A hotel that serves orange juice and coffee from a machine needs some upgrading
Sone staff doesn't communicate friendly. There was no Wi-Fi
Location Hotel style and design Room size
Rude staff and don't give sufficient information. No wifi
The wifi was too slow and unstable. Please improve.
Weak wifi and bathroom smells
The room was exelent. I enjoy very much the panoram from my room to the river.
The suite was very spacious and had an air of opulence about it, also had an excellent view over the Grand Canal (to where Johnny Depp jumped off the balcony in The Tourist). It was kept very clean by the staff and although one cannot have kettles or coffee machines in the rooms, tea was only a telephone call away though. The water taxi stop is just outside and one can start their walk or gondola ride through the streets of Venice with a minutes walk from the hotel's entrance. The staff were extremely attentive, polite and friendly. Lovely arrival gift left in room, thank you.
The air-conditioning could not be controlled by the thermostat. Only one electric point would charge up mobile or iPad. Breakfast was adequate by had better in far lower priced hotels, and breakfast coffee was from a vending machine and was awful! it's Italy for goodness sake. Wifi internet connection was poor.
