The Accademia Gallery where David is housed, is a few minutes up the street and the cathedral is a few minutes down the street. There are supermarkets near to buy food and everything you need is close by. The owner and the staff who worked there were very nice.
Perfect location! Decent price. Very friendly staff. Felt secure (travelled with 2 women). Basement has washing machine.
The property feels like the cleaning is very superficial. Very dusty. My bedspread had fresh looking stains on it- like someone spilled food or drink on it. My travel companions said their bathroom smelled like mildew. I didn't want to spend time in my room. This place would be so much better if it had a fresh coat of paint, a deep cleaning, and some updated furnishings (i.e. fabric covered headboards collect dust and dirt- not a great choice). Bring house slippers if you stay here!
Piccolo is very convenient to Florence museums and sites. The building is ancient (in a good way) and has been nicely renovated.
You need brighter light bulbs by the beds for people who like to read.
We liked "Bob" (Guissepe)!! He was really helpful and informative. The apartment was very comfy for the four of us. We had a wonderful time in Florence!!
Location very central in historic area. Owner managed, very good service
The location was good and not too pricey compared to other hotels or apartments in that area. Pretty close to academia, duomo and walking distance to the uffizi gallery, ponte vecchio and other amazing sights. Lots of places to eat around. Our room itself was not that fantastic, pictures are not what they seem, so be careful. But overall not too bad.
It was so silly of them not to let us know the drying machine was out of order. It was simply unplugged. After washing our clothes we found out the dryer was not working and had to spread clothes all over our room to dry out. That was downright stupid.
Friendly staff, Taro.
This hotel was just a block and a half away from the Accademia Gallery which holds the statue of David. A couple of blocks in the other direction is the Duomo. As far as location goes, we were very happy.
The hotel is next to impossible to reach via car. While there is a parking garage across the street, with restricted traffic and one ways, we were never able to reach the hotel. We ended up parking several blocks away and dragging our luggage through the market area... not optimal.
The location was very central, we were able to walk every where. Very spacious Studio Suite.
The couch was very uncomfortable as the cushions would slide off when sitting on them, they were part of a pull out bed so perhaps it was over used. Lynne and Dave Canada
Windows open to the yard, quiet which is good but block drainage like smell from the yard constantly comes into room. If you close the window there is no fresh air. The 3 in 1 bedroom, kitchen and living room is very squeezed for 3 people.
The space was huge! My boyfriend and I were traveling with his mother. We all had our own space and at fair price for Florence!
The check in was not clear that I had to arrive at a certain time to get service.
This is the best hotel we lived in Italy. Everything is great
A young man, whom I believe was the son of the female owner, was the person cleaning and he did a stellar job. Plus he was terribly nice. The location is terrific. There is AC, although due to smoke smell in the fan, I turned it off. But it works well. The room was large, but....
The room I had looked nothing like the one pictured. The owner requested the payment upon arrival, a bit odd. I sent an early email requesting a room with absolutely no smell of smoke, being allergic. Yes, my room smelled of smoke and was very dark, with a view of a flat rooftop. Luckily I aired it out enough and had antihistamine spray to help. But, I sent an email, well ahead of time.....also I was supplied with an espresso pot, as requested (and, well, it's Italy...should be supplied) but it had an old seal, so sputtered everywhere. I'm Italian, so a real pot is required. However, even a non Italian may want coffee, no? I saw only a water heater in the kitchen. Again, odd.
Friendly staff and very helpful.Good location close to Duomo.
Internet was intermittent.
spaciousness of the apartment, the quality of the bathroom with a good powerful shower, the location so close to the duomo, teapot
unsure if there was an outdoor sitting area
The location Was great and staff VERT friendly. There is a small Kitchen with some tea waiting for you. A simple offer that shows concerne for clients
We didn't found how turn Off lights Beside bed. You Don't have a 24h Open Reception, so to get in the building, you Always have a key with you. Otherwise you stay In The street ringing until some one open The Door for you.
Amazing location. the rooms were pretty comfi.
Location, convenience Room layout and amemities Modern design Very quiet Courtyard view Comfortable furniture Plenty of dishes and utensils Bathroom modern and spotless Management (Sakiko wonderful)
Kitchenette a little small, not much room to prepare food or dry dishes
very close to the historic centre of Firenze. Spacious room and the kids enjoyed sleeping at the small attic. Parking Garage right in front of the hotel.
limited tv channel options (but who needs tv in Firenze? only the kids wanted to see something when we were in). slightly noisy but it was expected as it is located in the historic centre
spacious rooms in the center of the city - great as a base for sightseeing and going out in the evening.
