Free wifi, great if it worked. Concierge non existent, staff unfriendly, pillows rock hard, seemed to be almost an inconvenience to have guests stay.
Location, grand entrance and public areas.
On our arrival the receptionist adopted a rather superior attitude, insisting that we had not booked breakfast, although my booking confirmed that we had. We rang Room Service three times on Saturday afternoon and got no response. The pillows were terribly hard. Service in the bar was rather slow, but the bar manager remembered the drinks we wanted after our first visit.
Mostly excellent service from the reception staff, at least after the first day. Very clean room, comfortable bed, clean linen and new toiletries daily. The hotel is in a great location with lots of restaurants and small shops within easy walking distance. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and has ceilings to rival the Sistene Chapel!
the cleanliness of the room and the age of the room the neds were not comfortable
Loved the lareg sitting room downstairs but they needed more entertainment - piano playiong
no face tissue, no water, water tap in toilet make noise when turn on, close door has noise sound.
The staff is rude and incompetent, Just one person at reception. The room in uncofortable and poor. Is a scandalous that this hotel have 5 stars.
wonderful hall but all other things are a really poor: the staff was rude, and room small and uncomfortable. Really a bad experience. Esperanza pessima.
Room was so so and after valley parking my cell phone was lost .
Ofcourse location and lounge zone is amazing
everything looks very worn and/or carelessly done or repaired. poor bathroom stuff, leaking on the floor, worn carpets, tasteless corridors, not working AC plugs and so on. staff was just ok, nothing more.
vintage furniture & decorations, lobby and the room was very spacy. suppose hotel used to be very luxury in the past. location is very central, right on the shopping street and close to all sightseeing places.
The only thing I would say the food was not very good all food over the 4 days was cold & not much choice
Hotel well situated very clean very nice rooms
Rooms are very old, facilities are very old
Staff was very good, that is something extraordinary!!!
Service a bit patchy , décor has seen better days but you forgive it all
Breakfast not the best and not included in price
Very friendly staff, great location.
A little too quiet no buzz around the public area
Wifi in room was not efficient, breakfast on week days not interesting.
Location is perfect for shopping and sightseeing.
Noise a bit..near to the crowd street
Really tatty bedroom. Dusty, peeling paintwork, doors that didn't close. Terrible paintwork. Looked as if it hadn't been renovated since it was first built.
Location. Splendour of the public rooms
The grumpy old porter does no favours for the hotel nor does the host in the restaurant at breakfast with his frosty "greeting" in the morning.
The housekeeping staff were very lovely and friendly.
Outside can get quite noisy, so if you are a light leeper request the atrium rooms. Room 320 has such a soft bad that it is tottaly uncomfortable. We slept also in other room and there the bed was very good.
Hotel is beautifull and at the time when was built must off been absolutly amazing. You really see the money spent when it was built. Excellent location.
The room had an alarming odor near the bathroom area. Smelled like the pipes were bad. Laundry staff took it upon themselves to decide when our laundry should be returned to us. And the price surely did not match the accomodation at all.
The location was great. Walking distance from just about everything.
The manager and the front desk
Location - lobby
Sphere (not for young crowd), electricity in the room (use only the red socket!), TV in room bad quality.
Location, friendly staff
Overall nothing too disturbing. The hotel is old (1860) so some of the rooms may need a little bit more renovation. The pillows were a bit on the hard side, and our room door had a problem with the key, it could not be locked from inside. We got an upgrade after informing reception. What else can you ask for?
I loved the building, the fact that it is so well preserved and has this historic elegance to it, well taken care of and well run. After one night stay felt like home. Our room was large and with nice view of the street. Bustling location and fun especially if you are travelling as a couple or with your teenage child. Walking distance to metro, popular plazas, taxi stand in front of the hotel. Very very nice and would recommend it. Very attentive staff as well. Love it!
old building where they need to do some rehabiliation elevator was having a bad smell all the time elevator tend to have some electrical problem espeaclly when you need to use it
the location of the hotel is very nice and in one of the vital street in Rome.
Elevators smell like an open sewer and bathrooms are too small.
I love the service provided by Fabio, the door man. I also love the architecture but that needs to be renovated.
