The fantastic lounge arae
Some beds are old with springs..
Our room was spacious and the bed very comfortable. A wonderful central location in the heart of the shopping district.
Staff lived up to the five star rating!
Rooms are in disrepair...bathrooms floors cracked and head boards not attached to beds so they bang against the wall (some have zip ties securing them to the wall!) Way to expensive for what you get. Over the top decorations noting a time long gone by...1930s? Would not stay here again.
Location is excellent
Very old hotel that needs renovation
Excellent location, easy to walk to everything
The staff was not very helpful and we didn't feel welcome as one should in a five star hotel the breakfast was good but not excellent, I have had better in less luxurious hotels
Room was in need of reburbishment. The walls were so thin we could actually hear the couple in the next door room!!
The hotel is very old! Every thing is falling apart.
The location was great, breakfast was wonderful. The great room was a tour in itself, just as beautiful as the museums.
The beds were hard....and would have preferred a shower stall, not a tub to get into. The first room was very dark and dingy and asked to be changed which they did...but it should never have been given to us. ONE lamp and a window that opened to a brick wall..Our friends had a lovely room that overlooked a garden. Be sure to ask for exactly what you want......
The hotel is central to all the major attractions.a fantastic building but we found the staff not to friendly.
Most of the staff but not all!
localization and atmosphere were ecellent. staff were helpful.
The air condition ws out of order, the heating could not be turned off. It was inconveniently hot. The breakfast was poor. Only one "Italian " coffee was availabe. In other hotels with lower stage, limitless "real " expresso was available, which is basic for traveller, I think.
When I complained that the hair dryer was old and not sufficent, it was changed by the time I returned back to my room that evening. Beautiful lobby Well located in center of rome; close to shopping
Small room, high traffic...
The hotel lobby was beautiful. Its design was coastal, but filled with beautiful antique pieces and orange and yellows of the Mediterranean, giving it a casual elegance. The dining room was exquisite: white layered on white. The hotel looked liked a dream home set by the sea; it sparkled with cleanliness, but was welcoming and serene at the same time. After weary travel, it was quite an oasis. The room itself which had an amazing view of the sea, was delightful as well. Red and blue with white colorfully patterned Italian, it felt magical, almost surreal, like looking out a window of a yacht. Truly, this hotel, the room, and the restaurant were highlights of our trip. I would highly recommend it. Oh, and there were steps which led down to the marina with wonderful restaurants, and the town of Sorrento about a 15 minute walk. What could be better? Three of the four in our group liked this hotel best of all the places we stayed, and we stayed in six outstanding places.
Ideally situated, beautifully decorated, lovely balcony
Absolutely no sense of personal service. Rooms are a bit worn. Breakfast not even close to 5 star level. When we wrote management of the problems, we experienced, only response was a bottle of their cheapest spumante. We would have preferred a personal answer + willingness to solve problems.
It is a remarkably beautifull hotel. It's pure Rome and I enjoyed staying here. It is a classic hotel, a museum by itself. I actually found the recepcion staff very professional and kind. The location is fabulous: Close to Via Condoti (most elegant street of Rome) and 4 minutes walk to metro station. Large clean rooms with a very confortable beds.
We enjoyed the experience in this beautiful hotel. However, it needs a renovation that will be highly expensive for sure. Rooms are old and no longer according 5 star standards. Ar conditioning is poor, wi-fi practically non-existing. Sofas were covered with with sheets to hide the old age damages, terraces looked abandoned. Bathtub with no protection from water droping.
Location, help from concierge, breakfast buffet. Grand ballroom.
Hallways to rooms are bare, colder feeling for an old charming hotel. Grand lobby closed off for an event upon arrival.
Cost. In general staff not friendly! Sewage smell in rooms.
Excellent shopping area, convenient to subway and buses
The breakfast selection was boring
The location is superb. Near shops, restaurants, we'll known brands and the Spanish Steps. The taxi stop is right in front the hotel.
Very small room. Not worth the money I spent for a 5 star hotel. They only give you one key for the room. Uncomfortable bed and the whole room looks like from the 1930s (squeaky steel noisy bed). Not worth it at all. I have been in a better B&B than this hotel. All in all I will never stay at this hotel again.
Historic and beautiful building, close to the main attractions, nice breakfast, good wifi connection.
Mattress too soft, noise from the corridors, expensive price for what is offered.
Excellent location and great breakfast
Communication with the staff was soo bad!
Ideally located and very good value
If you like classy stay in Rome in a stilish hotel with a bit of patina on it this is the right choice
Nothing important to complain about (only if you were a red-neck you would complain) :)
It was very central . The room was nice and had and classic style. The hallways and and breakfast room were very ornate. The room itself was kept very clean.
shower had no power and took a long time to heat up. Room service plates left outside rooms were not cleaned up for hours one time they were still there the next morning.
Magnificant publick rooms, first class restaurant, accomidating staff.
Location is super. We had a 2 bedroom suite with 2 kids. Was great and for a good price.
Hotel old fashioned and dark. Rooms look tired but were good price. Not very lively. Big groups. Breakfast was terrible and no sunlight coming in. Curtains closed. Roof terrace was closed on Monday. No possibility to sit outside.
