Hotel was located on via del corsa. Near to most of the site seeing locations. Taxi drop infront of hotel which saved time when going to airport.
Location Staff View from the terrase upstairs The building itself and interier in the lobby area
The standard room is of such a poor quality, urgently need renovation - classical style but new materials: - TV was not working, - there were no curtain in the bathroom - all the water just fell down on the floor when taking a shower, - the floor wooden cover is old and you can easily hear other people moving in their room, epecially at night - poor choice of food for breakfast
Breakfast can be improved.
Location is excellent - most of the popular sights are at the walking distance and just next to shopping streets. The room was spacious.
The room was little bit shabby / worn out and the toilet didn't flush well.
The location is wonderful. The Hotel it self is beautiful and wellkept. Staff in the dinning room were delightful as were the housekeeping staff.
We arrived at the hotel 2 hours before check in. No problem, checked our bags and went out to lunch for 2 1/2 hours. Came back, room still not ready and when we asked when it might be ready we were told "we don't know". We sat in the lobby for another 40 minutes watching other people check in and out. Finally asked again and were told "whenever".
Service is terrible!!!
Friendly and courteous staff - after a less than average meal at a nearby restaurant we asked if we could have desert, coffee and a nightcap in the terrace restaurant and were personally escorted up once our table was ready for us. Classic features and real old fashion glamour; A really iconic hotel with taste and style; Real furniture, not cheap soul-less reproductions of major chains; Location, location, location; Grandeur of interior and size of bed room.
Lighting was a bit dark in reception and cluttered with bags upon arrival - the entrance doorway could be more inviting but these 'negatives' need to be put in context of the overall experience. Nothing else.
Hand held shower
Staff were rude, unhelpful Bathroom was dirty and grimy. Expensive Hard springy beds Average breakfast Expensive drinks at bar Old and tired Dirty
We loved everything about our stay, the sumptuous room with huge terrace, the very friendly courteous and helpful staff, the impressive grandeur of the hotel interior and its many sitting rooms, the great meals and room service, the cleanliness and finally the brilliant location. First class all round.
We liked everything
Beds were uncomfortable . Bathrooms showers very small. Upon arrival at 5 pm and after a long travel and check in we were chocked that the room is not cleaned yet from previous customer. Hotel needs major attention. Breakfast buffet is poor. Not up to expectation.
Great location in centre of Rome. Located just next to Condotti street (designer shops) and right opposite Brandy Melville shop. Large grand hotel with ornate decor. Rooms were large. Double room had two twin beds and a large sofa and triple room had large double with pull out sofa and still plenty of space.
Beds and pillows were very firm and uncomfortable. Wifi was very slow and kept losing connection. Bar menu was very limited which was a shame because the lounge area has great atmosphere but didn't seem to be used by anyone. The roof terrace looked fantastic but the bar price was even more breathtaking! €15 euros for each drink (thats for one coke, or a beer, glass of wine or a cocktail!) the same drinks were €5 euros each in the downstairs bar! Car parking is a problem and had to park in underground public carpark in Piazza Cavour - 3 days cost €72 euros!
a bit inefficient
The hotel is dirty- coat of dust in the furniture. Reception can't handle arrivers-check in took 50 minutes. Permanent problems with electricity. Couldn't even charge the phone sometimes.
location is amazing, just in the middle of all attractions. the room was spacious, comfortable and quite.
we felt it is under staffed especially at the lobby. staff are helpful but not very friendly. the room can get cleaner..
The location, the grandeur.
The behavior of the staff at the desk was very very poor.
Service was a little shambolic but the property was stunning, if a little tired.
The building was a little tired and the staff not very friendly. They were however helpful generally.
The breakfast and breakfast room was grand! Very good and great display! Restaurant staff there were very good!
The staff was rude, service horrific. Clearly, they don't actually want people staying in their hotel. When we arrived after a long flight, we were told by one staff member we could check in then before going to the Vatican instead of leaving our bags with the concierge. Another staff member insisted we couldn't checkin until at least 4 p.m. despite the fact that our room was apparently ready. This resulted in an actual heated argument between the two staff members. In the end, we weren't allowed to checkin. We were traveling with another family and had each booked triple rooms. The third bed was a pullout couch at the end of the main bed. There were no sheets, pillow or blanket for the third person. And, we paid a hefty charge for a "triple" room. My husband went to the front desk and was told they would send someone to our room with them. He knew it wasn't going to happen as the person at the front desk was very rude to him. So, no bedding was delivered. We covered my son in towels at this expensive, "5 star" hotel!!! For night two, my husband had to play charades with the hotel maid, and after going round and round, finally got bedding. Back to checkin...after not being able to check in upon arrival, we had to change in the first floor restroom. The housekeeper came in to clean the restroom at the same time and proceeded to clean as I tried to move my change of clothes and makeup kit around her cleaning (not vice versa) while she muttered in Italian under her breath. I know she was talking at me as the word "American" came out of her mouth very rudely several times. Throughout our stay, we also witnessed other hotel guests at the front desk complaining about very relative problems to very unattentive staff, including an elderly gentleman who tried to reason with a male desk staff member who basically turned his back while the poor man was talking.
The location and old world charm was fantastic!
Hotel is tired-not being maintained as it could be. Needs more attention to paint, etc....
VERY BASIC BREAKFAST
No facilities. Didn't feel like we were in a 5 star hotel.
The service was great and the people were helpful and friendly. The location was excellent within easy walking distance of the Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Pantheon and shopping. I would definitely recommend the hotel.
The roof top restaurant was a disappointment. It could be and should be a major attraction for the hotel. Service was lackadaisical and the hours of operation were limited.
The location of this lovely hotel is central to so much shopping and site seeing, close to the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and Piazza del Popolo. The front line staff are terrific. The public areas are old-world beautiful, opulent and comfortable. The Superior room linens are excellent quality.
We stayed in this hotel some ten years ago, and sad to say, the rooms now are somewhat lacking in amenities. There was no iron, the hair dryer was so ancient it barely warmed up its breath of air, there was no Kleenex, a small necessary item however. The glassware was not cleaned each day, nor were the plastic drink cups replaced. There was no turn down service, and the bathroom vanity products were never replenished. The tub drained painfully slow.
The location and grandeur of the hotel was like staying in a film set.
Poor WiFi and so-so breakfast.
