Hotel Plinius  

This is a typical north Italian hotel. Genuine mid-range quality with added bonus of very helpful desk willing to give time and support when significant transport difficulties in Como. I will certainly use it again.

Breakfast self serve coffee awful (have tea instead).

The staff are very kind, courteous and friendly. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed. The bathrooms (both of the single and the double rooms I have stayed in) excellent and beautifully tiled. The breakfast is excellent and I enjoyed using the unusual but very effective egg boiler they have there! They will also do you a nice cappuccino from the bar if you wish one, instead of the tea and coffee out on the side. All in all, this hotel, for its position (in the historic centre, and near to a good range of restaurants), friendliness and price, is difficult to beat for a short break in Como. I recommend strongly!

Rosella, the front desk manager, was more than outstanding. Very kind and helpful, available to help at the first question. The room was comfortable, the shower and bathroom clean and nice, with a nice towel warmer. It had been pouring rain and I was able to dry my clothes with the towel rack. Breakfast was wonderful and the staff was accommodating and kind. There had been some sort of problem with my credit card and Rosella had saved my room and was gracious and understanding.

It had a pleasant atmosphere and good breakfast.

The bed was hard as were all the other beds we had in Italy.

Good sized room,clean and friendly staff.It was well located to the lake and easy walking distance to the train.Quaint and well priced.

Excellent located, right in the city center and just a few steps from the the lake, nice and helpful personnel. We especially appreciated that it was very clean. I would recommend it.

No free parking place. There was a public parking in front of the hotel, but you had to pay 2 Euro / hour during the day. Still, it was free from 8 pm to 8 am so this wouldn’t be a real problem if you go arround by car during the day. The room was very small, but we expected it, that's what all hotel rooms are like in Italy :).

Excelent location; clean bathroom.

Great location. Close to train station and the sights. Staff let us store our luggage afte we had checked out.

The views and the location. Also how clean it was. Really good value for money, as I'm sure the hotels nearer to the lake, which are much more expensive, do not offer the same quality.
