In a historic building by Lake Como, the Marco’s is a family-run hotel in the same square as the panoramic funicular to Brunate. It has free parking, a typical restaurant, and free Wi-Fi throughout.
Score from 361 reviews Good
It was a lovely large room with a great view towards the town centre. Very close to a large shopping centre and to the town walking tour. Good breakfast and free parking.
Everything was fine.
Location, staff was very friendly and kind.
Excellent location close to city center, nice view from window on 4th floor.
Small room, air condition not working, windows not well sound insulated, some street noice
Staff was very nice, helpful and facility was very clean.
wi fi- appalling
The location was perfect, close to boats, shopping, supermarket and restaurants. The staff were great and breakfast, which was included was excellent, great choices of food
Hot water and coffee at the breakfast area was always cold or empty. Maybe something electrical to keep them constantly hot would be great.
Staff were very helpful and amenities good
Very small rooms, and noise from the streets kept you fro sleeping well
Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was very clean and comfortable. Location is excellent--easy walking distance to the main square and sites. Affordable, comparatively speaking.
Parking is a challenge. No parking available on the surrounding streets and the contracted garage is a number of blocks away. Guests should ask for directions to drive back to the hotel when checking out as there are a number of one-way streets.
Location. Staff. Cleanliness
Poor pillows and bumps in mattress
Thank you very much, Dominiano! I am still grateful to reseptionists in this hotel, especially to young but very proffecional Dominiano. He helped me to get to Malpensa when the railway was blocked by strike. Regards, Gala L., Moscow
Location is great, close to everything
WiFi is a joke
Friendly staff. Nice room. Beautiful breakfast. Cooperation with parking place.
Direct in the city centre and near lake Room Breakfast
Price is high. Choose only for the location and not more
We had a comfortable and enjoyable stay at Hotel Plinius in early September 2014 for a long weekend. It is centrally located, has sizeable and very clean rooms, breakfast room, and powder room. The hotel staff are kind and helpful. Breakfast was good.
Due to its location, as some of us were light sleepers, we had problems with the noise on the street at night with weekend feastings We would have liked the availability of SKY facility on TV as two in our group are football fans and they were not able to follow the games during our sojourn.
position staff breakfast
dust in room on bed headboard and window frames, not been dusted for weeks. street noise from scooters and motor cycles
Right in the old Town Centre. The lift. Great breakfast. Nicely decorated room. Nice bathroom.
Wifi kept dropping out in the room. Signal was weak. The street noise was quite loud until late at night. No way of blocking this out.
Very noisy small (not 17m2)room above entrance, disturbed until 1am by motos, cars and people. Couldn't use aircon because it emitted smoke.
Close to the square to enjoy the public entertainment and a good selection of restaurants closely. Easy walk to the lake and the ferries. Excellent breakfast selection. Great balcony outlook.
Staff were friendly and made good recommendations for sightseeing. Hotel is in an excellent location not far from the wharf, buses and train station. Como is a wonderful base especially for those with walking issues as it is quite flat as opposed to Bellagio and other locations around the lake.
Crowds in August. Didn't know that many places close down in the week we were there - 17th to 24th August.
Our rooms were very clean and nice. The breakfast was excellent. Out rooms were in the top floor and we had nice small balcons. The location was very good. We were very pleased. The staff was very polite. Nothing to complain.
Nice, clean hotel, located down-town, walking distance to everything. Friendly staff. Simple breakfast, but nice.
We found a free parking spot quite far but this was not an issue for us.
A pair of arm chairs in the reception were very dirty and need a good clean or replacement
Very friendly and helpful staff. I liked the breakfast. Hotel just a few steps from good cafes and restaurants. Nice bathroom. If you find the pillows flat, just ask for more at reception.
Lots of noise coming in even though the windows were closed. Motor bikes revving, shouted conversations, but this is an Italian holiday resort so unavoidable really. Maybe better seals on the windows are needed. Don't eat at pietros on the duomo square, really overpriced and food was mediocre
Location and helpful staff.
Air conditioning was too strong and we couldn't cut it off.
Position Small but comfortable room Nice breakfast
Very old fashioned way of providing wifi access (24 hours access with codes on a bit of paper). Not good..
