The care around the guest starts right in the morning, with an extensive and discerned breakfast: regional specialities have been carefully chosen and arranged into a kaleidoscope of pleasure – ham from the nearby Maremma, jams from a small factory in Bibbona, freshly squeezed orange juice, cheeses from the surrounding villages, fresh fruit and much more is served until 1 p.m. – on the large terrace with sea view of course, where there is always a fresh breeze.

The domain’s park, bordering the surrounding vineyards and woods, is an oasis of tranquillity, embedded in the impressive Tuscan landscape. The cypress trees reflect in the swimming pool and the water seems to melt the hills before disappearing into a cascade. A traditional herb garden, an orchard, olive trees, an orangery and a widespread lawn make Tuscan’s nature detectable with all senses.

Created by an important team of Italian architects, the estate has been transformed into a boutique hotel, which closer resembles a private manor. Using typical, stylish Tuscan materials, they have created ample rooms, luxurious bath rooms, a splendid vaulted entrance hall and gardens worth of an emperor.

This year Relais il Biserno is starting as a Bed&Breakfast only. However, cold cuts, sandwiches and salads are available on request.

Six bedrooms and a suite are available for our guests. The rooms all differ one from another, not only by their unique style and stunning views, but also by their atmosphere.

The colours, all inspired from the surrounding nature, have been specifically used to give each room a very particular flair. From shades of olive green to the blue of the nearby sea, from terracotta colours to sunny yellows, Tuscany's hues can be seen all through "Relais il Biserno", like a Leitmotif of an Italian opera.

A particular distinctiveness: some of the rooms have frescos depicting the surroundings, painted by a local artist, filling the room from top to bottom. Even the birds of the surrounding fields and forests seem to pause for a moment on the ceilings...

Bathrooms made of Carrara marble and alabaster from the nearby quarries give a sense of cool elegance. Four poster beds with a view to the coast spoil the visitor.

Relais Il Biserno is the perfect starting point to discover Tuscany. It is situated on one of Tuscan’s wine routes, leading to famous cellars like San Guido (Sassicaia) and Ornellaia (Massetto). Within the radius of a few kilometres there are several idyllic medieval villages. Some of them are even reachable by bikes that are at your disposal at the hotel.

North of Bibbona you will find the cities of Pisa, Livorno (an important Tuscan port) and the “Riviera Toscana”: Versilia and its glamorous town Forte dei Marmi.

Driving East, you will reach the alabaster city Volterra and from there the famous San Gimignano. Even Florence is just an hour’s drive away.

The “Costa degli Etruschi” – the Etruscan coast – extends south of the Estate with its crystal clear sea and clean beaches, the Baratti and Populonia architectural park and Piombino, from where you can access the renowned Elba Island. Continuing in this direction, you will arrive at Punta Ala and therefore at one of Italy’s most beautiful golf courses.

Our professional team will be delighted to organise tours to these and more destinations, as well as mountain bike, quad (four wheel motorbikes) and horse back riding excursions. And if you rather spend your day relaxing, you can always spend your day at the pool, go to the beach (only 7km from the hotel) or take a walk through the vineyards of the Tenuta Campo di Sasso…
