Little bit small room

The only bad experience was related to the noise the lobby door was making EVERY time it was opened or closed. The door system is totally inappropriate for a hotel, it should be changed or a buffer should be installed, or the rooms on the ground door should never be rented again.
Amaizing view and atmosphere. You feel like you are in the country side in the middle of Tuscany, still the hotel is 5 min walk from the Porta Romana (one of the old city gates). Very big, clead and nice room. Free parking, locked overnight. Very good cleaning of the room, daily chage of towels. Good breakfast, every day some items were diversified - different king of cheese, strawberries, melon etc. Italina freshly made coffee.

First of all, I would like to mention the view from our room - it was something unforgettable! When I woke up at 7 in the morning I saw little deers walking around eating grass in the first sun beams, and it was amazing! :) The room was quite small but cosy, the bathroom was clean and the bed was comfortable. We enjoyed breakfast too, the croissants with cream were very delicious. The staff is very attentive. The location is great!

The room was very small (but has comfortable bed)
Perfect location, only 5' walking to Siena. Free parking (that is extremely helpful). The view is perfect (in autumn it must be a small paradise), the style of the hotel in side and also the outside area are very nice.TV, WiFi all ok. Clean and simple rooms.

toilet seat was loose
best view in toscana

The breakfast was ordinary, the wifi reception was intermittent, and it would have been more comfortable with carpet mats on the floor and a good mat at the front door, as it was raining while we were there.
The staff were very helpful, the room had the basic comforts and the view of the surrounding area was great.

If you want to leave early: breaktfast only starts at 8 am
It's authentic, calm, phantastic view, you have a free parking place, go to the trattoria the reception recommands, you get a map, the walk to the center is interesting and quick, our bathroom had a window.

Good location and friendly staff

There are not many eating places nearby, the Wifi was poor
The rooms are okay, and the breakfast was good value.

We checked in late and we had heavy luggage. There was no elevator to the second floor yet the young man at the desk did not offer to help us with our bags. The day man (who I believe was the manager) was extremely helpful with everything we needed so maybe he needs to have a word with the guy on duty at night.
Within walking distance of the Campo yet it still has a beautiful view of the Tuscan countryside. It also has parking if you've got a car.

No lift. Hot tub is heated by sun so it's not really a hot tub but a solar heated soaking tub.
Very close to old Siena and the sights. Wonderful view from our room of what you picture Tuscany to look like. Receptionists was VERY helpful with our time in Siena and our travel plans to other towns.

The bathroom is tiny, almost impossible to shower in, water didn't drain.
The location, free breakfast & parking.
September 25, 2014
The room was very small and noisy. we were on the first floor and could hear every one come in and out of their room.
The location was good. 15 min walk from the center.
September 18, 2014
The walls of the hotel do not protect voice so you can hear the sounds in the other rooms. Also if you are staying in the 3th floor there is no lift but you can ask help.
The hotel is so cute and staffs are very kind. The view of hotel sees the trees and hills. You can walk to the city center (piazza del complo) in 15 mins or in front of the hotel there is bus stop and number 26, 28 and 51 go to back of piazza del complo. To compare with westerm style breakfast, the breakfast is very rich and tasty. Also the hotel has free parking inside the hotel.

The room we stayed in was very modest. The bed was in dire need of an update. A foam bed may give more comfort. Hopefully the beds are replaced soon. The doors in all units need rubber stoppers as everyone in the building seemed to slam them and in a building made of bricks and mortar, every noise reverberates throughout the 3 floors. The property was neat and tidy and there was a really funny cat who made us laugh every morning (and we are dog people).
First, the positives. The hotel is just outside the Porta Romana gate. About 15 minute walk from Piaza il Campo and the convenient store Conad. There is a great view of the valley from our bedroom window (2nd floor) where we had a fantastic view of the Siena hillside. The breakfast is included so that saved us time having to look for a place to eat before taking on the day's retreats. The staff is friendly enough but again, being from a foreign country like Canada, we understand that tourists "don't know what they don't know". As a suggestion, I would tell the staff in Hotel Porta Romana to treat every person who stays in the hotel like a little innocent child who needs guidance with everything from what to see, eat, taste and touch in Siena. Don't assume that they have done their homework since they may not have heard or considered Montalcino or Montepulciano as a day trip.
September 18, 2014
breakfast selection a bit poor, nothing warm, no way to get some scrambled eggs or such...
Loved the location and the view on the valley nearby, also liked free parking where I could leave my car also next day for few hours after check-out while visiting the city center again.
September 12, 2014
Very small bathroom and shower, short bed (only 6 foot), variable wi-fi.
Free parking, reasonable distance from centre, view.
