The Hotel Naples is in Naples historic center, along one of the most important roads, Corso Umberto I. It has rooms with air conditioning and a minibar. Guests have free Wi-Fi access in the hotel.

The property is in the middle of historic centre. It is possible to get to many places of interest by foot. There is also a metro station nearby. Rooms are clean and comfortable.
excellent location. Modern and clean room with high ceilings. B and B but lots of privacy (basically not manned at all) but felt safe as it had very secure doors.
got a bit noisy as there was a stage erected right outside our window. Double glazed glass kept most of the noise out but got a bit stuffy in the room. Was a little complicated to check in as the place is not manned and the manager did not show up at the pre-agreed time. (despite confirming the time by email twice beforehand)
Well located, very central to historical part of town and close to the Metro. Stylish modern interior. Clean. Breakfast Ok, good coffee and fruit salad, a hard lumpy, bread roll. Helpful in holding my luggage at a sister hotel nearby for the day as my flight was in the evening.
No reception staff and felt very cold, lonely and unfriendly. I had to wait for someone to come and let me and they stayed briefly to tell me basics. They were friendly enough as was the cleaner who was there the next morning. However, I went into my room and couldn't immediately figure out the airconditioning and managed to lock the safe and not be able to open it again and there was no one around to go to for help. I was also anxious on return from dinner about what would happen if I didn't manage to open the many doors to which I had keys before I could get into my room.I was also asked to leave my room key behind which left me anxious. Whilst very cool and modern, there were signs of wear and tear especially in the bathroom which had not been attended to. It is on a noisy square and generally this is kept well out however the kitchen was outside my door and I had to put in my ear plugs from early in the morning to keep out the clatter of crockery and cutlery. I was a bit surprised to find I had not paid for breakfast in my booking and I was not alerted to this when the receptionist simply asked me to complete a form saying what I would like in the morning. Probably mainly my fault for not noticing and it was reasonably priced, but a bit irksome.
Nice little gem hidden in a Crazy city.
Comfort, cozy and value for money. Actually I wasn't expecting that much clean and stylish room. I would def recommend it.
very clean, staff friendly and helpful, comfy bed. Didn't have breakfast so can't comment, but it is only served in your room, which are a good size. very central to everything - 20minute walk to sea front, 10 minutes away from duomo, 5 minutes away from garibaldi on the metro, bus stop in the square.
these are not dislikes really, just pointing out what little things to expect - the towels in the bathroom aren't the thick ones us English are use to, they are the thickness of a table cloth, but they still did the job. If you get the room that is off the communal kitchen/sitting area - then walls are thin if you have other guess coming in at 3am being loud and making themselves drinks, then the road sweeper starts up in the square every morning at about 5am. So if you are a light sleeper this is not the room you want to end up with.
The location was realy good, but no wifi in rooms. We realy enjoy our staying in this place.
No wifi in the room
How you feel about Portalba Relais will depend on how you feel about being in the middle of a bustling vibrant city. Don't get me wrong, the hotel is a perfect ocean of tranquility, calm, quiet, clean with friendly staff and amazingly comfy beds, a great view over the main square was also awesome, try and get a room with a view if you can. But what makes or breaks this hotel is the location. We literally walked the whole of Naples, 20 minutes from pretty much everywhere, you are slap bang in the middle. Students buzz around on scooters, hidden alleyways take you from one bustling hive of activity to another. A street vendor or pizzaria on every corner. Situated in what seems to be a book district, street side markets, shops and cafes hawk their wares, piano recitals and opera blares out from the rooms of the bibliotheque musicale as you wander down cobbled streets from one amazing site to the next. You are in the middle of it all. You will experience Naples as it really is, and that includes the graffiti ( which is everywhere and kind of awesome ) and the rubbish ( which they seem to have sorted out and was nowhere near as bad as we had been lead to believe. Is it "dangerous" well, after the first day and initial shock I never feared for my wallet. There are to many people, to many Italians for this to be a good mugging area. Police presence is also unobtrusive but clearly visible, My girlfriend and I looking like pale fat tourists with to much money felt perfectly safe everywhere we went. That said, some people will be unnerved by the roads. The technique is to walk out in front of the traffic traveling at 40mph. If you do this you will cross unscathed. Traffic will swerve around you or stop. Consider the ever present honking of scooter horns an informal "welcome to Italy" rather than a sign of actual annoyance and you'll do fine.
Tough call. I spent the entire 5 days with a look of silly joy on my face. But I can see how this might not be to some peoples tastes. The roads are scary. The staff are not 24 hours ( as explained ) And Naples is a loud bustling vibrant city. Some people are not going to feel comfortable in that environment. If you think that's you, there are some beautiful hotels all along the Amalfi coast where you can spend a relaxing few days away from the hustle and bustle of the city but, if you have one shot, one chance to see Naples and a thirst for experience, book in at the Portalba Relais. It's pretty much perfect. p.s. They will always get your breakfast wrong. Don't worry about it.
Perfect location, nice room with high ceiling, quite decent breakfast.
The staff was very accommodating to our needs. Breakfast in our room was more than ample. I would highly recommend the Portalba Relais to any one visiting Naples.
The electricity didn't work in the whole hotel. The flushing of the toilet didn't work so we had to use a bucket. There is no reception so you get no help. It it horrible. This for 80 eur!
the manger was extremely helpful, friendly and she went out of her way to make our stay wonderful.
there were some spots that the wall paper was peeling away from the wall
