Friendly staff. Old world charm. Good breakfast. Convenient location.
The location was very convenient and the hotel is fine although a little shabby.
One bed was very soft.
- Location is in down town (perfect); - enough cheap; - the room was big enough.
- no control of the heating in the room (it was too much hot even if the external temperature was 6°C); - if you have the window open the bell tower can disturb your sleep;
The location was perfect for me, in the center of town. Very close to sights, excellent restaurants, and a grocery store just steps away. Breakfast included was very nice.
Wifi is available in only one room.
Everything was OK, good night of sleep.
Location, quality of room.
Hard to access wifi.
Alessia was very friendly and helpful. It was a great price. The hotel is old and has a charm of its own.
Convenience and price
Bathroom, bad wi-fi
the location in the center the architecture of the building very comfortable beds
the clock of the churche wich was close to the bedroom and preventing from sleeping
Great location in the centre of town. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Uncomfortable bed. Bathroom needs updating.
When we discovered that the bathroom down the hall had a tub rather than a shower, she let us use the shower on the next floor.
Great location. Decent value.
NO WIFI! This generally wouldn't bother me, but they state that it is available on the main floor. It is not.
The hotel is in a superb location in the heart of Orvieto, and the reception area gives a good initial impression. The ensuite bathroom was a good size, and included a bath-tub (and plentiful hot water) - a rare treat these days. The Wi-Fi was easy to access, and the coffee at breakfast was very good. The overall price was very good value for such a central location.
We found the bed a bit too hard, and there were no in-room coffee-making facilities. It was a surprise to find no TV in the room, although it wasn't a problem for us. Breakfast was a limited choice, with no cereals on offer - just rather sticky croissants, pre-packaged toast, and rolls. The room could do with a refresh - the paint was tired, and the garden could do with a make-over - a shame, as it was a pleasant outside space to sit. Proprietor was inefficient calculating the final bill
We loved the position in the old town. It gave us a great start to exploring Orvieto and its history. Very friendly helpful staff, and a good breakfast.
Parking was tricky and the one way streets made it interesting to negiotiate at night.
Location, price, staff on site on the time.
Would be nice to have better directions to the hotel. I walk all the way to the hotel with my luggage, when I got there I found out that I could ride the bus to the duomo and walk few meters to the hotel.
It was a very beautiful hotel in a very good location
We were Americans with a little known French, it would have been nice to have some facts about the Parking, what to do and not to do ,bus service ,and at restaurants about facts about water and prices but overall very good , did not mind the bells also but what to do if you were out after 9 pm to get back in
Great location, clean, comfortable rooms with armoire, dresser, and writing desk. Screens in windows (an uncommon luxury in Italy)! Pleasant staff. For the price, you really can't beat it (not sure why Rick Steves referred to it as "dumpy").
Superb location for both the cathedral and the city itself. Splendidly stylish building. Decent breakfast. Helpful staff. Overall, a very good package.
The renovation was tasteful enough, but incomplete, and at yes of dubious quality- eg water escaping from the shower.
the rooms are clean, comfortable beds, perfect location, the hotel is in the heart of the city
not good enough soundproofing, very bad wi-fi
Right in the old city and it's so easy to walk around. Accommodating staff. Spacious room.
Not the fault of the hotel but if driving in beware that Google maps can send you down one way streets....and they are narrow cobbled lanes. Also the sign to the hotel is not large or coloured.
The hotel itself was fine
Double windows should prevent the heavy noise of the bell tower nearby, which beat each 15 minutes...even during the night...
We got a double room without a bath, which made our stay in Orvieto very comfortable and affordable. There is a sink in the room so brushing your teeth before bed is very easy, and the double bed, though just two twin beds together gave us a good night's sleep.
The bathroom down the hall was tiny, but it was available whenever we needed it, occasionally after other guests had taken a shower there was water all over the floor. The wi-fi doesn't extend to the rooms, but they are very friendly about letting you use it.
This hotel was in a fantastic location. We found it a little impersonal, but maybe that's simply because the owner doesn't speak any English. This is not a complaint though, after all we were in Italy. There was a young woman at the desk during the day however who spoke very good English. The guesthouse was in a wonderful location, so close to everything. We had a lovely room nice and spacious with a good size bathroom. We had a lovely big window which we kept open all the time, a good thing because there was no air conditioning. Having said that during our stay air conditioning probably wasn't that much of an issue though a fan to keep the air moving would have been good. Can't comment on the breakfast because our stay didn't include breakfast. The are however heaps of places close by, we found one with great wifi. Wifi in the guesthouse is available but only in public areas. This didn't really bother us because we did most of our wifi-ing at breakfast time. Everyone was friendly and the young woman during the day was very helpful if we had any questions. I was grateful that I always sleep with earplugs because the church bell tolls every fifteen minutes to let you know the I time, and I'm talking 24/7. I actually love it but am not sure how wonderful I would have found it without earplugs. It was great too that this little guesthouse has a lift. It's small but it works so there's no need to carry luggage up stairs. Overall I found this little guesthouse good value for money and would stay there again.
An electric fan in the room would have been good. While the bathroom was a good size the actual shower was a little small. Having said that we found that in many place in Italy, including a bidet in the bathroom tends to take priority over the size of the shower. My personal preference is for a shower to take priority over a bidet.
Hotel Posta is conveniently in the old city of Orvieto. Our room faced the back of the building, looking out to the garden. It was quiet, except for the ringing of the clock every 15 minutes :) Our shared bath was clean. We had to go to the lobby or garden to use wifi.
The rope hand rails, while decorative, are not useful for someone who has mobility problems
