Quality Hotel President Palermo  

restaurant-- first night, went to the top floor and the restaurant had about 2-300 people eating under excrutiatingly bright lights. There was no chance to get in, nexdt morning, breakfast was the same. Apparently the hotel takes on tour buses for rooming. There were maybe 2-300 people on tour buses staying at the hotel and it was so crowded it could not function.The wifi internet was impossible always booting you out of the internet. Our television didn't work and it took three sets to replace it and find one that would work. The bed was uncomfortable. I would absolutely not recommend this hotel to anyone but a masochist. It was impossible to change rooms because the hotel was entirely booked. The furnishings were old and the rooms were in disrepair (stories galore on this item alone.) The hallways to the rooms were beautiful (at least on our floor), but opening the door to the room was shocking. I would not call this 60s, or 70s decor, I would call this mid WWII decor. But Palermo was a very dirty and uninviting city anyway. Even Rick Steves didn't have anything good to say about Palermo. I should pay more attention to him. Our recommendation, stay at a hotel close to the beach, closer to the airport and if you must, take a day trip into Palermo. We loved Cinisi and the Azzolini Palm Beach Hotel. (and free wifi too!) There are interesting day trips from there and you don't have to deal with the suicidal/homicidal city drivers.

We chose the President Hotel initially because it was listed as being close to the Port/Dock at Palermo,.When we arrived off the Ferry from Genova, the Hotel was immediately visible. It is a beautiful, Traditional, Quality Hotel, where we were Greeted and Welcomed on arrival and nothing was too much trouble for the Staff. Although we anticipated a simple Continental Breakfast, it turned out to be a 'substantial', and nourishing Buffet and again nothing was too muich trouble for the Waiter...........Standard of cleanliness and attire was beyond reproach. We were sorry to leave this Hotel, as it was the Best one we had stayed in over the past 10 days, staying in Barcelona, Nice and Sicily. To sum up: Our stay at the President, took 'precedence' over all the others!!!!

We could not fault the Hotel or Staff...........we just wish we could have stayed longer! Simple tea or coffe making facilities in the room, for when cafe/coffee shop was closed, would have a good idea.

Good breakfast, located on walking distance historic centre.

The location from the dock was great. The room very adequate and breakfast was very good.

The fridge in the room didn't work and those linen drying cloths most places have are just not adequate.

Our flight has changed and we arrived one day later. Thus, we missed one night for which we had paid. However, the manager gestured kindly and offered us a free dinner instead. The manager and the staff were really kind! It had a very central location. The room was clean. Our satisfaction for that price was high.

Price. The rooms were large and comfortable. Breakfast was good and big as I like :). Nice employment especially in restaurant. We were checking out at 5 am, and they prepared some food for a trip.

Old fashioned. Could be little bit cleaner.

The location is perfect for those who are going to leave Palermo from the port early morning, it's relly some steps from the port entrance. The stuff of the hotel speaks English and was very friendly.

The hotel is situated near the street full of clothes shops, but it's near impossible to buy something like shampoo there.

No free wifi and wifi did not work. Also parking at €12 per night was very expensive.

The location was fantastic and the room sizes were great too.

The hotel was deserted at night and it was a little eery.
