The Paba is a small hotel in a residential building less than a 5 minute walk from the Coliseum. All rooms have private bathrooms and come with air conditioning.
Score from 176 reviews Wonderful
On the right bank of Rome's Tiber River, Hotel Sant'Angelo is in a historic building, just half a mile from the Spanish Steps. It offers free Wi-Fi and rooms with private bathrooms.

Only the location and the wifi
Even if i booked a twin room they gave a us a quadroom. We were 2 persons in a room full with beds and furnitures (that we did not really need them). The toom was one of the worst i have ever seen. When we arrived there was no hot water (because of a problem as they said) and the room was a little bit cold (they told us that there is central heating that works only a few hours a day and we could not turn on the heating the heating or yhe aircobdition that works only during the summer). Bteakfast was poor too.
The gentleman and the lady at the reception were super helpful. They speak very good English (unlike other hotel receptionists in Rome) and they were very friendly. Hotel location is perfect for sightseeing in the historical part of Rome. Rooms are clean, Wi-Fi reception and connection speed are smooth. I definitely advice this hotel to everyone.
Location great, decent breakfast, kind staff. My room was very clean and big. Bathrooms very clean (including sheared bathrooms).
There is only one staff after 5PM. Since the hotel is quite big (over 4 floors) the staff person cannot open the gate or door for you if they are busy with other customers on an other floor. I tried to call them, ring the bell for a long time. it took me 20 minutes to get in. Not a big problem but be aware of it.
I loved the location and the area that the hotel was in. Also the staff was very nice, I was confused about the payment process and they were extremely helpful and nice. It is not a 5 star hotel, but it was exactly what I needed and I would go again.
I didn't like the loud cars outside during the night. It was not bad once you passed about 1 a.m. but it was a bit loud at first.
Loved the location of this hotel - close enough between both ends of Rome (The Vatican to The Colosseum). Lots of transportation options around including a reliable bus service going to the train station etc.
Very noisy at night.
The hotel is centrally located. It is a very short walk (2-3 mins) to Campo di Fiori and Piazza Navona. The hotel is also facing the main road (Corso Vittoria Emanuele II) and there is a taxi stand in front of the hotel. It is also within walking distance to the Vatican City, Colosseum, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps. For Muslims, there is a halal and delicious kebab shop near Campo di Fiori fountain. The staff were incredible! Ivorna (so sorry if I spelt it wrongly) was very friendly and helpful. We reached the hotel at about 8.30am in the morning and she told us our room was ready. The manager-Michele- was superb! My husband wanted to watch a football match and Michele's advice saved us nearly 12 euros for the taxi service! Our room was spacious and the view was beautiful! Breakfast was provided in a small room but it came with a view of the city, totally enchanting. In sum, the hotel is great (for us, it is!)
very close to Vatican and other famous places. Staffs can speak English well. They are also helpful
It was quite difficult to find the place. The price is very high for me. However, I traded off for a good location
Location and friendly staff
Excellent location, in walking distance to many attractions, stores, restaurants, bars and nightclubs, Clean Cozy room, WiFi, free basic breakfast On the fifth floor but the vintage elevator makes it fun!
Not a very good view from my room, Kind of hard to find at first if the taxi driver does not know the hotel
staff flexible and approachable and willing to accomodate extra guests at short notice for a reduced fee we were very grateful
The location was perfect for us. We were right next to Piazza Navona and the Camp de Fiori, and on a bus route that could take us towards the Vatican and to Roma Termini where you can catch the subway to see the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, etc. We actually walked to the Vatican one day, and to the Colosseum and Roman Forum and Palatine the next. Vittorio was the kindest man and went the extra mile to make sure we had whatever we needed. We will definitely go back to stay when we go back to Rome.
I think this hotel has the best location. You will be near the Vatican City, the pantheon, the colosseo and everything you have to see. And it's a fair price. Totally recommended!
Excellent location .Very tasty breakfast with variable goods.not very noisy despite its central location.Near to super market and places of interest (navona pantheon venezia Vatican campo Di fiore ).next to bus stop (100m) and taxi.security level because of the big external door which remains locked during the day and of course the night.
price. unreasonably expensive for what it offered.
So close to central Rome and lovely family breakfast room, also the beautiful antique lift.
Great central location , within walking distance for many must see attractions. Very helpful staff.
Location, staff attitude, WiFi, near to all attraction and within walking distance
Noisy during one of the night due to event nearby
Perfect location for Rome. Clean and comfortable room on the 5th floor with private bathroom. Every day cleaning on the room. Discret staff. The equipment of the room is according to 2 stars-rating hotel.
Bath towels are dull. Bath equipment is old but clean. Price is unreasonable but...location.
Location -very central
The location of this hotel is perfect. The staff is really friendly and our room was large wih lots of extra space and a great view out both windows. The complimentary breakfast was really great and exceeded our expectations.
The hotel has one small plaque on the wall and it was really difficult to find when we showed up after dark. The bathroom could have been cleaner and needed a new shower curtain.
The location is superb. You really can't do better for this price. The hotel is also housed in a really great 19th century building that features large rooms with high ceilings.
The staff was accommodating, but could sometimes seem a bit short. Check into this hotel, check out of this hotel, and don't make too many requests of the staff and you will do just fine. Also, don't bother with breakfast. Unless you get up really early, breakfast is crowded, small, and prepackaged. There are several cafes or grocery stores nearby that you can quickly pick something up from without spending too much money or time.
Location is excellent, just a few steps from Piazza Navona, and a short walk to most monuments in central Rome. Friendly staff
Breakfast wasn't great, but will do if you are on a budget.
room 11 has a boiler behind the wall/near the window, which makes exessive noise. difficult to sleep there...
Location, friendly staff and spoke english
Very small sign outside, very hard to find sign after dark, very small room, only changed bath towels every other day,
The location is good.
The newer hotels in the area charge $140/night for 3 people with much bigger space. $135 a night for an old tiny room is fairly expensive.
