Score from 180 reviews Very good
Welcoming and hospitable hosts, great location & rates and excellent adjoining restaurant.
Handle to balcony was broken. Shower doors broken. Very loud and couldn't open windows due to smoke below. Pillows and bed very hard. Breakfast mediocre. Definately not a 3 star hotel. Stayed at a 1 star here last year that was better.
I liked the hotel it was in a most convenient position on the lake in a lovely little town with excellent restaurants surrounding it and convenient for the train to Milan.
The fact that it was a smoking hotel so rooms smelt of smoke, this could not be remedied with air fresheners as cutains etc were steeped in it, and I had not realised when booking that this was the case.
Being so central.
Position of Hotel in Stresa very convenient for lake tours etc
The hotel was a smoking hotel which I hadn't realised. My room stank of cigarettes and I was unable to get rid of the smell.
reasonable breakfast with wholemeal bread. English spoken.
Tired. Original old windows and lack of double glazing for noise reduction except on top (4th) floor. little sleep with bar and church bell noise. Aircon didn't work on 3rd floor. Poor quality pillows, blankets, towels. Ancient small safe with key, not pin,
Centrally located in the heart of the pedestrian zone
Distance from nearest parking
nice room, excellent location, helpful staff, plentiful breakfast
no problems whatsoever
The staff were very helpful. They provided a map of the town as I wanted to eat in the evening they also suggested eating in the hotel. Good value for money
The staff were excellent; family room for 3 was perfect with all expected facilities & balcony. Room service was excellent, with as many towel changes as required; frequent bed linen changes made. Continental breakfast was good; personal service & attention given to hot drinks. No language issues. A wonderful town with many shops, restuarants and places of interest, all close to hand. We will come back again. Mike S.
Nothing to report.
The breakfast quality is extremely low, absolutely unacceptable.
Staff friendly and helpful, they looked up the train timetable for us and advised
Good location Friendly staff Wifi access
Bed and pillows uncomfortable Quite noisy because of people talking on the street below Bathroom could need a renovation
Excellent staff Excellent location
Could have a little more variety at breakfast but what was there was good Had dinner twice at sister hotel 'Hotel Meeting'. The food was very good quality & very good value but the waiting staff watched over us & hurried the courses up because (I guess) they finished at 9pm. One staff member actually stood impatiently with her hands on her hips waiting for us to finish! We laughed it off later but it's such a shame because the food was great
the location was excellent and the staff very polite.
the triple room was very small and the carpet smelled.
Location Friendly, helpful staff
Good location. Acceptable rooms considering the price. No wifi on the room.
Central location in the pedestrian zone just 100 m from the lake. Friendly, helpful staff. Tidy, recently renovated rooms of fair size with balconies
No fresh fruit for breakfast. Cheap sugary stuff for 'juice'. Wi-Fi signal in our room (320) was unstable. Noise from restaurants and buskers on the street.
This family run hotel is very reasonably priced. The location is fantastic for Stresa. The restaurants nearby are great to explore. The bar on the opposite corner is perfect for ending the night out. The nearby church bells start ringing at 8am, but take it as part of the flavor of Stresa.
Located in town center. Great breakfast. Room size was ok. Staff was friendly and helpfull
Needs a sprucing up
Very comfortable and welcoming, with friendly staff. Good location, room was very comfortable, nice breakfast.
Air conditioning in the room was a bit hit and miss, as the weather was very hot when we were staying there, it could become a bit uncomfortable.
We got to the hotel 1 short block from the beach and very excited. To find they gave our room away to a tour group. They set us up at an apt. Which were now to deal with another hotel at the top of town. Our room was at the top of town right next to the train. Clean room but not what we paid for. The women at the front desk told us were to go to meet someone else to get the key. Before I could get better directions she turned her back on me and acted mad and did not say a word to me. So we wondered the streets in the upper neighborhood looking for this women to help us dragging our luggage. I've traveled Italy for years and I can roll with most anything, Never been to Stresa, which I loved but was disappointed how this was handled.
Upon arrival we were told our booked family room was not available & to squeeze 3 adults into another room would be to tight & so they moved us to an apartment alongside their sister hotel - the Hotel Meeting. Excellent self catering apartment facilities! Highly recommend staying in the apartments; Maurice room No. 1.
