Madison Hotel  

I have stayed in 100's of hotels and this is by far the worst experience I have ever had. Not only did I catch bed bugs in the bed and kill a few, a week later my wife and I broke out with approx. 250 bed bug bites.

Very friendly staff, very near to the station. Very good breakfast served.

BED BUGS !!! We were happy about the place, breakfast and friendly staff. But animals in your bed? Also the room was smelly from the kitchen odour. Also do remember that Termini is busy place and this hotel is right there with all the smell and strange people around. We were immediately moved to another hotel which was very comfortable and clean.

The location was handy for everything. That is about it.

3 star hotel..?? The reception staff were the rudest people I have ever met. The smell in my friends room was so bad he couldnt sleep all night and had to have a room change at 6am next morning. Rooms clean enough, but small, stuffy and depressing, lots of things not working. My main issue was that - even though both rooms I booked at this hotel were paid for in full at the time of booking, I was called by reception on the day of check-out, by a man shouting at me that it was passed check out time and I had to get down stairs right now and get the rooms paid for, etc, etc, he kept shouting at me and arguing with me that the rooms had not been paid for, and would not listen to me. Later, when he realised his mistake - I did not even get an apology. I have never been treated like that at a hotel before in my life and was furious and disgusted! I will be going into greater detail and making a full complaint about this man and the way he treated me.!! Also, the night before when we tried to get into the hotel at around 12:00, a different man on recieption was lying drunk and was angry at being bothered to get up and let us in. The staff here are a disgrace.!!

Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent supply of breakfast food. Location is absolutely fantastic I.E. closeness to the Termini, to airport and other shuttle buses, taxis, tour buses and public transportation, to restaurants and shopping areas. Very clean room.

If you use metro, bus or train hotel is at good place, otherwise not. there were beggar and people who slept at street in the night. Hotel was cleen, breakfast was very good. Bathroom was nice. Aircondition works!!!

Colours were horrible in the room, allover deep green. Only one small window in the corner, very dark room. There were no blankets in the bed, only sheets. Staf was not very friendly.

The location to Termini Station was ideal for us. Good location for food and restaurants. We stayed three night the first time and the second time 10/8/11 they had us move to the Hotel Galles five blocks away. Very quiet, great desk help and a very nice reception area but no air conditioning.

We wished for air conditioning in the rooms and they really don't have it. The maze of halls to get to the rooms had me thinking where do we go and how do we get out in case of a fire.

Very good central location immediately across from the main train/metro station, so excellent for connections within Rome and further afield in Italy. Very well-organised buffet breakfast. Friendly staff.

Some noise coming from bars/cafes below the hotel - especially in the late evening from the central courtyard.

Everything is good and enough for me but hotel's bed is uncomfortable

I liked the hospitality of the reception staff especially when we arrived from a tiresome journey from Venice. They were spontaneous in arranging our check-in and they provided finite tourist desinations that we could visit immediately and that we could make the most of our available time. Breakfast was great-somewhat reminded me of South Africa and the best we have had in 9 days. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable. Our luggage on the last day was in safe custody for at least 12 hours. The location is great-in close proximaty to all tourist destinations. I would certainly recommend the Madison Hotel to anybody who wishes to stay in Rome.
