Busy hotel...Clean room & facilities, helpful and plentiful breakfast. Understanding staff - they do a great job under trying circumstances...lack of general guest understanding. I was treated with courtesy and respect. Hotel's proximity to Santa Lucia train station & ferry terminal makes it a great jump-off point to check out city sights & functions...vallue for money Gino's Pizza...opposite gives preferential service to Hotel Principe guests. Alas, some of the guest reviews are polarised...because people don't realise that Venice is the most expensive city in Italy in which to live or visit..!! |

The breakfaft and the lobby! We asked for one double bed when we've booked and not two beds but we didn't get it. The receptionist was really impolite even when he assumed our remark at the booking sheet. They organized later and improvised bed which was acceptable. The room was much to small for a 4star hotel even if the price was reduced. I can not imagine that someone would pay a full price. |

If you need to be close to the train or bus stations, which we did, this is a quick walk from either. Very easy to find. If you want to be in the heart of shopping and dining, it's a fair walk, although a very pleasant one. The room was shabby and old. |

Rooms and room service was very good. All staff were most welcoming. Breakfast was excellent every morning. Views of the Grand Canal were fascinating with life in Venice going on before our eyes. Views from the terrace equally interesting. The only thing we didn't like about the hotel was leaving ! |

Everything was great. Loved the location which allowed me to leave on foot or by water taxi. The room and bathroom were large, efficient and comfortable and more than filled all my needs. The a/c worked very well during those very hot days I spent in Venice. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise offering a variety of choices for the American and European traveller. |

Extremely convenient location to train station As I had read on a few other reviews prior to booking, the staff left a lot to be desired. We booked this hotel because it would allow us to use the Internet. Instead, we could not use wireless. We got a great signal in the room and lobby, but the staff told us the password was a secret that even they didn't know. Great. So we were told to use the Internet through tv in the room. This did not work either. We evencalle the # for Internet help. They decided we may need a new cord and would call the front desk to have it delivered. Never came. We spoke to the front desk about it and all they said was that Internet doesn't work. No sorry... Nothing. I printed the page from booking.com stating both wireless & tv. Nothing. Room was small. |

Being on a canal in Venice in room and rest of hotel which were in keeping with city. We had a budget room but still had a view of the of the canal. It also had a very nice terrace. The staff were courteous and helped with queries but some were a little impersonal perhaps because they did not have a lot of english. the internet in room was too slow to be of use |

They allowed us to check in early. It was right on the waterway. Friendly and helpful. Would have been nice if they offered a airport shuttle service to the airport. Price to take a cab from hotel a little over the edge. |

Spacious reception area, interior of hotel is very cosy, carpeted, looks and feel very Venice, good customer service from staffs, located near the FS train station (5mins walk) & Piazzale Roma bus station (10mins walk), Lista di Spagna is one busy street with various kind of shops (souveniers, ice-cream, restaurants, sundry shops etc). I booked the room furnished with Venetian style at 2nd floor directly overlooking the busy streets and it wasn't noisy at all. Hotel has free private boat service to visit Murano Island (one way only) provided by one of the Murano's Glass factory. Buffet breakfast was deliciouss and its restaurant is overlooking the Grand Canal. No free wifi, Principe is a 4-star hotel-expect to pay average eur100 per nite. |
