Hotel Savoia has been in the family for 3 generations. It has a fantastic location in Positano, next to popular Mulini Square and 218 yards from the beach.
Score from 394 reviews Excellent
High above the Tyrrhenian Sea, the Alcione is in Positano, 37 miles from Naples-Capodichino Airport. This residence features Mediterranean style rooms, each with a private panoramic terrace.

Score from 87 reviews Very good
Breakfast was OK, but maybe a little below the price level of the hotel. Elevator was not always responsive.
Location was excellent, on the beach in a private location. Almost no steps to get to the main part of town. Staff was helpful. Restaurant was good.
Over 300 steps to climb to reach the road from the hotel. Not a hotel for the physically challenged.
Quiet location. Beautiful beach. Short walk to center of town.
Noise of old ac Restaurant closed for dinner Cost of sunchairs (€8) Lack of parking & cost (€15/diem)
Location on the beach Breakfast
300 stairs to get to the property
Overall a delightful place with one condition: you can climb stairs!
The view, the location!
There was quite a hike up the stairs into the town, but we found out that if you take a right turn when you get out of the hotel restaurant, there is a short cut into positano.
The room itself was beautiful, the bathroom had the most beautiful color tile I've ever seen, the bed was very comfortable, my husband and I slept quite well for the six days we were there. The best part was that we had a huge deck overlooking the mediterrean with a breathtaking view of the positano and beyond. There was also a very nice beach with chaise lounges available. We didn't use the beach that much because we could sun ourselves on the deck. The pictures that the hotel uses in its ads are accurate. They also had a restaurant that had free breakfast and it was open quite late. We used the restaurant quite a bit and the food was excellent.
Staff was amazingly friendly and accommodating from start to finish.Food was super and the location is wonderful. Will likely return for a longer stay.
The rooms are quite basic for the price charged.
The hotel is right on the beach approx 5 minutes (flat) walk from the town centre. Staff were very helpful & there are porters to transport your luggage back up to the road - v important when you have a 6am start & there are hundreds of steps! They reserved us a place in a car park which was essential in Positano. My husband left behind some clothes which they posted back to us at no charge.
Very hard bed.
Loved the quiet and the service in the restaurant. A beautiful setting.
The entire area of Positano was amazing how it is build into the Rock every hotel is unique in its own way. Took a private boat tour along the coast swam in many different areas well worth the 4 hour trip. The breakfast was included and very good the dinner we ate once in the hotel and once in town both no issues.
Everything, most beautiful place, fantastic location although I would research how to get to the hotel, we sort of found it by good luck! Staff were so helpful and the breakfast on the terrace over looking the sea was to die for
Older, family run 2 story hotel in need of some updating ( but still quite pleasant)....need water shoes for the beach (rocky bottom....tough on feet)
Location....if you want to be right on the beach....away from the main beach & touristy area....6-8 minute walk from the boat dock.
Can't think of anything.
We visited Hotel Pupetto the first week of October for our daughter's birthday and had an amazing time. The hotel's chef even baked a cake for our daughter, and the wait staff surprised her with a rousing rendition of happy birthday. The hotel is older, which adds to it's charm, the food excellent, and the staff very friendly. There is a good number of stairs to and from the hotel but we enjoyed the little bit of exercise. It is important to note that the beach is made up of small rounded rocks so you will want to bring some beach shoes. The water is very clear and in the mid seventies while we were there. We will definitely return ASAP!
No Wifi set up
Sound of water lapping. Excellent beach side service best vongole on Amalfi coast.
very small shower
loved my room. great terrace. restaurant great.
Some wear and tear in room but not really a big issue for us.
Great friendly staff, location right on the beach, good beach bars.
we didn't love walking back up to our car at the end of the trip but we ran into people doing it for fun (?!). but all worth it!
the hotel is right on the beach with amazing views from the room. It is very quiet and relaxing and only a lovely short walk to the main part of town. we especially loved the daily wake up calls by the local rooster.
The restaurant was quite quiet so didn't have much atmosphere in the evenings, so we didn't eat there.
The location was perfect, fabulous views from our bedroom overlooking the beach. Great breakfast and amazing staff.
Lot's of steps to reach hotel.
Porters to deliver baggage otherwise would be difficult. Obvious great views.Very relaxing and great staff. Able to communicate and several speak english
The twin beds were extremely narrow so were not comfortable to sleep in, yet there was plenty of room in the large room for bigger twin beds. Some towel or clothes hooks in the bathroom would be handy.
Once you got down to the hotel there were not too many stairs to negotiate. The location is great right on the beach. The organisation to get bags up and down from the hotel was excellent and includes a flying fox. Staff were very helpful with transfers and tourist information and restaurant bookings.
The hairdryers provided could use an update.
I hope heaven is like Pupetto! The views, the food, the staff... all were wonderful! The reception staff were friendly and helpful as was everyone at the beach and the beach café. We slept to the sound of the waves on the beach. If you're not afraid of a few stairs, Pupetto is the best value in Positano!
A self catering option would be great. Tea/coffee making facilities would also be appreciated.
The location was super, staff were attentive, very helpful and friendly. We ad a great holiday there.
nothing, it was all good
desk stall resourceful, able to solve some difficult transport problems for us. waiters provided useful tips for travel everone exceedingly friendly. cleaners with high standards and always friendly and discrete
The hotel itself was fine but we regretted our decision to dine in the hotel restaurant for an evening meal. The food was quite expensive and did not meet the standards we had grown accustomed to on the Amalfi Coast. If the restaurant could improve its offering I think Hotel Puppetto would have left a more positive memory in my mind.
This hotel was one of the more expensive we stayed in during our time on the Amalfi Coast and we would have expected a little more for our money. The rooms were perfectly adaquate but I felt we stayed in nicer and less expensive accomodation elsewhere on the Amalfi Coast, including expensive Capri. The hotel is a little dated but it has very nice staff and is right beside a relatively quiet beach. There was only a five minute walk to Positano. This was definitiely a plus. We liked that the hotel contacted us in advance to see when we would arrive. They arranged for a porter to meet us when we got off the ferry at Positano and helped bring our bags to the hotel. The breakfast service was very good and the range of food on offer was impressive.
Warm hearted associates, kind porter which will carry all your luggages to your room. Have nice restaurant and great wifi. Nice location, just 10 steps you will be on the beach. And 10min walk to reach the boat to other area.
