desk stall resourceful, able to solve some difficult transport problems for us. waiters provided useful tips for travel everone exceedingly friendly. cleaners with high standards and always friendly and discrete
nothing, it was all good
The place is awesomely located by Fornillo beach, making it almost exclusive for Pupettos guests, and it is amazing! They have a shortcut only 3 min walk to the city centre, that makes it basically close to everything in Positano! Very friendly staff.
The only bad thing about the hotel is the distance from the parking lot: 300 VERY steep steps. Even if you are an amazing marathon racer, you will get tired on your way up. The good thing though is that you won't be needing your car to get around Positano..
Great location in the bay next door to the busy central beach but only 5 minutes away walking along a lovely path around the side of the mountain. Beach bar on the beach which was great for lunch and drinks and snacks and ice-cream and suncream and espresso! Amazing restaurant with a very relaxed atmosphere with fabulous food & very attentive staff in the evening. Spectacular views out to sea. Not a fancy hotel - basic, clean and everything we hoped for and more. Delightful!
Nothing. Loved it all.
Location: near beach and station
Beach service: extra charge
Lovely, helpful staff...location was great, easy access to the main beach and ferries etc. I would stay there again without hesitation.
The buffet breakfast was a bit ordinary unless you enjoy cakes and pastries, in that case it was probably excellent.
The views are top notch. Staff was friendly and courteous Food at their restaurant was amazing
Steps, steps, steps ... But expect that everywhere in Positano. It is the nature of the location. Take it or leave it. Rooms are very basic and somewhat tight. Beds are very firm, full size beds are two twins pulled together. But the offer minibar, porter service for bags up and down the steps. Bring water shoes for the rocky beaches. As you see my dislikes are mostly not their fault. The steps and the rocky beach. I think their beds can be a little softer though
Having first visited Positano in 1973, I always hoped that one day I would transcend the place. It never happened, nor could it happen. During the course of 40 years, I have had the privilege of staying a dozens of hotels in Positano. Previous to this latest stay, I selected a hotel up the hill from the beach. I was well over 60 and mildly regretted the choice--I was too lazy to hike up and down the stairway. This time I selected Hotel Pupetto. It is on the beach but has the advantage of being one beach over from the more hectic beach that lies directly in front of such Positano icons as Buca di Bacco, Tre Sorelle, and Chez Black. Hotel Pupetto is a short, nearly level, walk from Covo Sarencene. If you arrive by hydrofoil from Napoli or Sorrento, the walk to Hotel Pupetto is less than ten minutes with baggage in tow--and I am 66 years old. There is nothing not to like about Hotel Pupetto. Anyone who gives it less than a five star rating is probably a crank would will not find satisfaction anywhere ... you know the type. Enjoy Positano but don't spread the word on how perfect it is. Keep it a secret.
The location and its position one storey above a lovely beach. I liked the fact that you are so close to the centre of beautiful Positano but having stayed at hotels right in Positano before, I must say I prefer this location. It is a cute, family run beach hotel with very friendly service and great food too. The reception staff were always smiling, obliging and helpful and the waiters were friendly and efficient too. Our balcony looked directly onto the pretty beach below.
Great stay. Outstanding staff and service
Very friendly staff Excellent cocktails at beach cafe Perfect position Great food Easy access to Positano - walk or boat
Staff were friendly. Hotel was right on beach. Easy access to restaurants and shops.
A lot of stairs to get to hotel.
the view, room staff.
Gabriella, the concierge, was unbelievably friendly and helpful. I would not look any further than Hotel Pupetto when staying in Positano. Great location, panoramic views, private beach, great service, and great experience.
Hotel seafood left a lot to be desired.
The location is fantastic. Removed from the main beach which gives the Pupetto Beach an element of privacy yet only 5 minute walk to the busy town center.
The beds and pillows are clean but very hard.
Our balcony overlooking the sea was a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the view & really become part of the beautiful landscape. The staff was warm, friendly and helpful & conveyed a sense of pleasure in what they did. The location is ideal--right on peaceful Fornillo beach which made cooling off in the sea easy. The in house restaurant was excellent, on a terrace overlooking the sea, in the shade of lemon trees and bougainvillea. On our last evening our server showed us the fish they would prepare for us, took it away to cook it and then filleted it at our table to be added to a dish of home made pasta--delicious, lovely and gracious! Pupetto is a short walk from the center of town with other great restaurants and shops, and connecting ferries. It was a wonderful place to stay in beautiful Positano. We wish everyone there all the best and hope to return soon!
We liked everything--it would however be helpful to have directions on the best way to arrive at the hotel from bus or ferry.
Location is its main asset. Beach front but away from the bustle of the main breach and port so it is quiet except loud music from different bars on the beach. Do not mind that 5 minute walk from center town to hotel as beautiful scenery.
The property needs to do maintenance. All railings in rooms and public area are rusted. Inside the shower there is no possibly to place even a soap! There is not much counter space within the shower/toilet either. There is no elevator in this hotel which could be inconvenient if you have heavy or big luggage. Access to certain hotel rooms, like ours, through doors (fire escape?) that are always kept open. This hotel does not have Skype TV so could not watch World Cup matches in hotel. The restaurant food is bland while breakfast is skewed towards sweet pastries. We stayed 2 nights. On our second day, an over-flowing ashtray next to our table, was not emptied the whole day within the smoking area of the restaurant / garden even though waiter came for our order.
Perfect Location, beautiful views, great Restaurant... And the best 'vino della Casa' Bianca! 10€ a bottle :)
Loud and rude Americans.
Quiet, lovely terrace, good breakfast, nice staff.
I liked the location being slightly away from the large crowds. The 40 meter walk over to the center of Positano was delightful. The porter was truely my best friend, assisiting with getting the luggage up and down the long stair case.
It felt a little too rustic. The restrauant was not appetizing.
The staff was very kind and helpful, the rooms were clean and the air conditioning was most appreciated on the hot days.
The beds weren't very comfortable at all. It was a bit of a walk to the main beach, but it was a beautiful walk. While the rooms were clean, they left a bit more to be desired in the overall feel and comfort for the money being spent.
The fact we were unable to use the elevator to get to & from the resort- causing us distress by climbing 200 steps in the heat!!
Splendid room, big terrace and hotel location. Beautiful road to hotel, which goes along the sea!
Food in restaurant in the evening
The ambience at this hotel was wonderful. It's intimate yet lively. The staff was very helpful. A little hard to get to but that just added to the wonderful experience.
The beach is all stones which makes it difficult to walk at times but I knew it would be like this. The beauty surrounding you makes up for no sand.
