It is a lovely old hotel with a courteous and helpful staff. The old and rather small elevator harkens back to earlier times with its wrought iron gate and wooden doors which had to be carefully opened and closed. Lots of marble stairs. The breakfast area was on a lower level with no windows, but the canary yellow decor was bright and cheery. The lounge was business-like and welcoming. The hotel lies beyond the main tourist areas, but a short walk takes you to most of the sights. It was convenient to the train which we took to and from the airport with no problems.

Very friendly staff, good room facilities, good price.. room smelt of smoke, even though we had requested 'non smoking' Location was a slight problem, but only because it was so hot & walking to the nearest centre was arduous.

The hotel was easy to find, less than 10 minutes walk from the main train station where the bus and train arrive from the airport. It has recently been refurbished and from the smart marble entrance to the light lounge and breakfast room, everything looked clean and new. The bedroom was a reasonable size with a small but beautifully fitted en-suite with an excellent shower. There were even complimentary extras like toothbrushes and slippers! The breakfast was great with a wide choice, including bacon and eggs, so we never needed to buy lunch. The hotel will do an evening meal on request, but we found a lovely restaurant 1 minute's walk away , 'Dan Giovanni's' which was excellent with the cheapest wine in the city! A bonus in the hotel was the free internet so we could check e-mails and book our seats on the return flight without needing our own laptop. The staff were friendly and could tell you the best way to get to different places. Buses stopped nearly outside the hotel and metro stations were within 5 minutes walk. Excellent value. The hotel was a little further from the main sights of Rome than other more expensive central hotels, but it only took us 15 minutes to walk to the Trevi Fountains, Spanish Steps, Borghese gardens and 30 minutes to walk to the Colosseum. If you didn't like walking you could easily catch the metro and bus for only 1 euro. This was great value when visiting the catacombs outside the city walls as a ticket lasts for 75 minutes so we went partly by metro and partly by bus all for 1 euro!

Reception staff were very welcoming and helpful - spoke good english. We arrived early and our room was available which was great. Breakfast was excellent, fresh and good mix of food. Location was good for the price within a capital city and walking distance from shops and train station. Bus service available just outside of hotel. Rooms were well serviced and clean. The beds were a little hard.

Very friendly hotel with helpful staff. 3 person room was large enough for 3 adults with very good en suite bathroom. Breakfast was good with plenty to eat every day - continental with limited hot food.. Hotel was in a superb location for walking or getting the bus to the main historic attractions. I would stay there again if I went to Rome

The hotel was fairly close to the train station and about a 10 minute walk to the nearest metro station. There were restaurants and little shops nearby. Near the metro station there was a good shopping area. We liked the area the hotel was in. Very clean and quiet. The staff was friendly and helpful. Continental breakfast was quite good compared to other hotels we stayed in. We enjoyed a drink or two in the hotel bar, it was a nice place to relax and visit with other travelers. We also like that they had two computers for guests' use and free wifi in guest rooms.

The staff were very pleasant & helpful These are not complaints, just our personal thoughts, 1. Softer bread at breakfast, perhaps a toaster, & a sharper knife 2.Better choice of TV channels, on our TV there was only 19, no films or music. 3. Maybe a roof terrace/ bar area to sit & relax at night

Excellent hotel for that money. Very clean, safe, good breakfast, friendly staff, great service. The antique elevator a bit slow, yet adds to the charm of the old building.

The people who work there are most helpful and accommodating. The location is excellent for walking everywhere I want to go, including the train station. There are great restaurants in the area. I stayed there last year and again this year and will definitely stay there next trip to Rome.

I mainly chose the hotel Ranieri for the price and location near the Termini train station and a Metro station (Repubblica). We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The breakfast food was great tasting and had a good variety. The room and bathroom were clean and neat. Air conditioning worked fine. I noticed you have double pained windows. I good walk to the Trevi fountain and Spanish steps. The city bus stops are along the street to get you to Termini quickly in one or two stops. The elevator works great but the space was small after you put two pieces of luggage inside.

The staff was very helpful and friendly. The location was convenient for getting to the train and metro. It was also close to a number of city sites that we might not otherwise have visited. The hotel was very clean and provided a very nice breakfast. The room we upgraded to was very spacious, nicely decorated, and had a very large remodeled bathroom. When we originally booked the room we asked for a standard room. When we got there, we found the room to be fairly small and spartan but clean and adequate. For a nominal price,we upgraded to a better room for our last 2 nights. This room was great! Much larger room with a nice street view-beautiful bathroom with separate shower and tub. Was definitely worth the upgrade.

This hotel was ideal for sightseeing in Rome as it was walkng distance or a short bus ride to all the tourist attractions in the city. It was clean, had a free safety deposit box and a mini bar. The room was small but adequate and the staff spoke good english and were extremely helpful. It had an olde world charm, the dining room even though at basement level was bright and cheerful and was decorated with colourful mediteranean ornaments and coloured glass. The breakfast was excellent giving us bacon and eggs as well as the usual continental option. I would highly reccommend this hotel for a visit to Rome as it was reasonably priced and good value for money.

The staff is very friendly and the cleaning is good. There are toothbrushes in the bathroom, which is not very common for the 3 stars hotels. The location is nice: just under 20 minutes to historical sights as Trevi and Quirinal palace, Corso street, Villa Borgese, 10 for the Termini station and 5 to the Rinascente store. Still the room is quiet. The breakfast is continental and ok. It is very cold in bathroom in winter. The wi-fi is slow and sometimes difficult to connect.

Excellent staff. Good location as its close enough to the busy side of the city without the noise. Rooms with no views are compensated with quietness. Perhaps have a list or recommended restaurants in the vicinity.
