Location, situated in an art deco building, occupying two floors, nice view
Breakfast could be better
Good location, next to the main street Via Etnea. Clean room, good wifi, friendly and helpful staff. Very good buffet breakfast with sweet and savoury food: ham, salami, cheese, coffee, juice, pastries, toast, fruit, milk, youghourt, etc Hotel staff offeres us the only available private parking spot for an additional price, very convenient since that allowed us to avoid finding a parking space in the centre and paying at the parking meter.
Driving in the neighbourhood is a challenge.
The stuff was helpfull and friendly
You can here everything that happen on the floor. Bathroom needed improve
The room was very small. In 5 minutes after we arrived we had to kill 2 bugs on the floor. The bathroom didn`t seem to be cleaned properly. The can of garbage was almost full, so it wasn`t cleaned before our arrival. The breakfast is very poor and after the experience from the room, we didn`t have the courage to eat anything but only packaged stuff (like jam and nutella). We arrived at the hotel in the evening, the entrance is extremely horror, it`s not like you are going in a hotel, it`s like going in a torture building, and the scale in the building where the hotel is located doesn`t have any light and the elevator is the most terrifying elevator I had to experience in my life. The staff is friendly, but it`s not enough to cover the dirtiest hotel I stayed in my life. The city of Catania is the same like the hotel, awful. I don`t recommend this to you at all !!!
very good value for money. staff is extremely friendly and helpful. cute little hotel in a huge palazzo. good location, historic city centre is only a 10 minute walk away and just 3 minutes around the corner there is a great pizzeria with terrace that came recommended by the staff.
Very big rooms and toilettes. New furniture, located in an old historic building. Helpfull staff.
Not that easy to find (check to have the address with you!!!) Hot because located on the top floors- though Air conditioning is available.
- Kind staff - Quiet and still fairly centre - Big room with a balcony
- It is not actually a stand-alone hotel but a floor of a block of flats - Breakfast is rather poor, melon gone by the time we arrived, "bread" is only toast bread, milk got warm and the processed meat a bit dry towards the end of breakfast time
Good staff. Good room. okay bed. good shower.
Old, dirty, uncomfortable
Location - although our room was a bit noisier than our friends but cannot be helped when you are in the middle of such a big city.
Lift was rather erratic although fairly normal for Italy! A kettle was listed for our room but we had to ask for it and then that was it. A kettle but nothing with it. Managed to borrow a couple of cups and we had some teabags/coffee with us so we managed. Don't turn left when you leave the hotel and head down to the harbour which is revolting and filthy and quite threatening on the way. Go to the streets near the Duomo as there are some good places to eat there. There is a square near there with entertainment most nights (boxing and football when we were there) and nice restaurants just off of the square.
Beautiful hotel in a tradicional building in the main area of Catania, wonderful breakfast, the room was very nice and clean.
Our second stay in a week. The location is excellent and the staff are ever so helpful and friendly - they do their best to make you feel at home. My thanks go especially to Vincenzo and Daniele - grazie per tutto ed arrivederci...
very helpful, friendly, service-minded staff; clean and spacious room; very good shower and bathroom
poor breakfast, absence of safety deposit boxes in rooms
Personels were legendary... Location and ambiance was nice...
Mosquitos :( No water in mini bar...
The Staff and our room with the view on the Etna!
The Orange juice ahahahah
If you are looking for a down-at-heel, spartan and unfriendly hotel this is NOT the place for you. Hotel Regina Margherita is characterful and full of Catanese charm (evident in the staff, the atmosphere and the strange old lift that conveys you up from the old lantern hung pink courtyard). The room I had was sparkling clean with a fabulous view - the hotel is located centrally but not too centrally which makes it quiet - across the rambling Sicilian rooftops to Mt. Etna. The shower was strong and hot, the bathroom pristine and the excellent breakfast was served with fantastic Italian coffee. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to anyone in both its modest pricing for what you get and the courteous, ever helpful staff. As an experienced traveller I can truly commend Hotel Regina Margherita in terms of arriving in style but also in having a quiet and peaceful but atmospheric place to return to at night when tired. Truly excellent.
The hotel was comfortable, clean and the showers worked very well with plenty of hot water. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Location of the hotel is very central with easy access to the main street of Catania (Via Etna); buses go frequently to the train station as well as the airport from near the hotel.
Beds were very uncomfortable! The breakfast was extremely basic (I've seen more experienced guests bringing their own stuff to eat despite the breakfast buffet provided).
Home away from Home.
There were a bit too much mosquitos, but I don t think it's the Hotel fault.
Very friendly staff. Clean and good location for visiting all the local tourist attractions. Great value for money.
Situated off Via Etna so there is a lot of noise from traffic at night
Great location, near Etnea Street, which is their most important street, that leads to Duomo. Rooms are big enough and very clean, staff is very helpful, they were trying to fix any problem we had.
The hotel is hard to find, and at first you enter a yard which seems a little creepy at the first impression, especially when you arrived in the middle of the night. It's situated at the 4th floor of an old building, but again, in the middle of the night, we felt a little lost until we find the reception. Another thing is that breakfast was poor, no eggs, no ham, no cheese, only sweets, juice, tea and coffee.
everything, particularly the helpfulness and outstanding friendliness of the staff
nothing, really nothing
Good location, friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast is quite good for Southern Italy ))
Hard to find - hotel's adress on the Booking.com is invalid (another building). Shower don't has any fence - pool on the floor in the bathroom every time after you take a shower. Sometimes poor WiFi connection.
It was an excellent room, with excellent stuff.. Good breakfast, clean. Very central easy to find.. Nothing bad at all.. Next trip back to this amazing Hotel.. Thank you
Central, easy to walk to the main attractions and you can take the bus to/ from airport or to/ from ferry (Marina Port) from the bus station 2 minutes walk from the hotel. The staff very nice and helpful
