I studied lots of B&Bs and spent weeks reading various reviews. The Relais Casa Della Fornarina exceeded our expectations. Large and quiet room. Very clean. Vouchers for a full American breakfast which we didn't get at any other B&B we stayed at. Walking distance to everything in Trastevere. Just don't judge a book by it's cover and how it looks from the outside. A+++ in my book.

Much smaller than expected. Rooms fresh and clean with nice bedlinen, bathroom was a good size but I thought the fixtures and toiletries supplied were of inferior quality. Some complimentary long-life milk capsules would be beneficial to use with the welcome coffee, tea and biscuits. Complimentary umbrellas a nice touch. Having to pay 5 euro for organising parking. Map supplied too small, a more detailed one of the Trastevere area would be a bonus. Hated having to go out for breakfast, fresh croissants and orange juice could be easily supplied

The room was large and had a great bathroom with an excellent shower. It was sparkling clean and very comfortable. The neighborhood was great with older children...lots of young people and hip shops, restaurants, and some nightlife. The breakfast options were fun (two cafes near the hotel take the hotel's breakfast card). It was walking distance from the Vatican. Fun!

We needed 4 rooms for our party so this was ideal as we had the place to ourselves. Perfect location surrounded by restaurants and bars in Trastevere yet within easy walking of the main sites and sights. Didn't think much of the breakfast arrangements

Location in trastvre is good and you have access to many bars and cafes et also easy to walk into Rome We booked a deluxe room with a seating and dinning area as per the picture on booking.com , but when we arrived the seating area hade been replaced by an extra huge bed the breakfast we were informed was an extra 4 euros per person by the lady who was cleaning the rooms when we arrived but that as a favour we would get them free ,,,,we actually booked bed and breakfast on booking.co the breakfast was tickets to be reedeemd at 2 cafes a short walk away and was a coffee and a pastry,,,, we left all the tickets on our departure dissapointing as it was Xmas and we had stayed before there and had great service etc and we expected the same

The location is very bustling but the double glazing is so good it keeps all the noise out so you can get a good nights sleep. Spotlessly clean. Breakfast at the Relais would be more relaxing than having to go out to eat. The Friends cafe for breakfast is good but they are closed on Sunday as was the alternative cafe which was supposed to be open, so on that day no breakfast was available. However this is probably the fault of the cafe and not the Relais.

I usually travel abroad for business and educational events at least 2-3 times each year. This year I teavelled to Greece, Jamaica, Australia, Switzerland and Germany. Rome was the final trip for 2012. I was very impressed with the Relais Casa Della Fornarine. The location was terrific. We were two short blocks from the river and could cross any of three bridges to get to the "City Center." We walked to every site in the City of Rome. In addition, there were many great restaurants and shopping places and churches in the immediate area. The staff were extremely helpful; waited for us to arrive late from the airport, arranged the taxi (limousine ride) back to the airport at 6:30 am. One of the best accommodation/location places I have stayed. There was nothing about the Relais I did not like.

We enjoyed everything about Relais, we would highly recommend it & would definitely stay there again on any future stays in Rome. Our pre-arrival emails were dealt with promptly and efficiently and they also arranged a luxury car to collect us from the airport (well worth the reasonable cost for this transfer service). On arrival we received a very warm welcome from Sonia outside of normal check in hours (previously arranged with Relais). Our room & bathroom were modern, spacious, very clean & comfortable. We had a luxury coffee machine with fresh coffee supplies, tea & biscuits, which were replenished daily. We also had a small honesty fridge stocked with very reasonably priced bottled water, soft drinks, wine, prosecco & soft drinks. The money is simply left in an honesty box and the fridge is restocked daily. Sonia was an extremely warm, friendly and helpful hostess. She provided restaurant recommendations, as well as detailed train information for our next destination and even a weather forecast and restaurant recommendation for there! Relais is in a very good location - 2 minutes walk from numerous good restaurants, bars, delis and shops. The Colosseum is 25 minutes walk away, and the Vatican City is 15-20mins walk. Grazie Mille Sonia for making our stay so enjoyable! There was nothing we disliked about Relais.

This hidden bed and breakfast was near to an older and interesting section of the city. We had previously been located near termini station and done the more central attractions. This accomodation was good for other proximity Boccaccio della veritable and the oldest bridge, try Marcos for dining we were very happy as a mature couple to be away from the bustle but loved walking the lanes after a quieter meal setting. You must take care to let the staff know time off arrival this is b and b not flash hotel reception.you need to be met. All good if you do this.

We arrived late at night to Rome and I had not let the hotel know about our arrival time. A taxi in the area called and Sonja came within 15 minutes to let us in with no problems. The staff is wonderful. Our sleep was very quite and restful. The location was perfect. We did not want to be in the heart of the tourist areas ,but close enough to get to them. Great place to stay. Breakfast was down the street, not served at the hotel.

The location was fantastic. We really enjoyed the Trastavere area. The rooms were beautiful, the bed was comfortable, the Trastavere can be busy and noisy, but even though this was in the mix it was quiet. A little haven. Also, Sonia was such a fantastic host and even made print- outs for our itinerary. We would stay there again! The only complaint is the breakfast. We received vouchers and you eat breakfast at a nearby restaurant which in theory is fine, but you don't get the same five star treatment... I don't like to complain, but the wait staff was rude and I definitely wouldn't order the American breakfast (which you can upgrade to at the hotel) I would just do the cappuccino and croissant and eat elsewhere later.

Everything was perfect for us. Extras like the use their computer and printer and being able to leave our luggage after checking out until later in the day, was the icing on the cake. The hotel is in a very convenient location, within walking distance of most of the major attractions and in itself a great area for all kinds of restaurants, interesting little shops and night time street entertainment. We would definitely stay there again. It's quite lively (but safe) at night around the area and therefore a lot of noise outside until very late - but it didn't bother us unduly.

We were staying for 2 nights in Rome prior to returning from a 2-week vacation in Italy which had started with 2-days in Rome in the Trevi area. we wanted to stay in Trastevere since we had not spent much time in that part of Rome. the hotel was a little hard to find, but Nicoleta, whom I had traded e-mails with regarding our arrival, was fabulous at making us feels at home showing us all the amenities of the room. She had also arranged for a driver to take us to the airport on our last day. She also suggested great restaurants. We really enjoyed that part of Rome. The room was very nice, a little larger than many rooms we had stayed in during our trip. The only thing that bothered us, was a humming sound (the air conditioner?) which had a very annoying monotone humming noise at night.

We liked the area it was in which is great for bar and restaurants yet has lots of history including the beautiful chuch of Santa Maria di Trastevere. Also there is a Mass in English every Sunday at 10.30 at Santa Maria de Scala which is a few minutes away from the accommodation
