Offering great service, free Wi-Fi and a large buffet breakfast, Hotel Globus is in Rome's La Sapienza University district, only 2 metro stops from Termini Train Station.
Score from 708 reviews Very good
The whole venue is apparently and old medieval village that had been left to deteriate but someone had the bright idea to convert into what seems to be primarily a wedding venue - but keeping and building on the medieval theme. Seriously weird but perched high atop a hill about 30 minutes drive outside Rome it is a beautifully quiet alternate if you didnt want the madness of trying to find somewhere in the midst of the chaos that is Rome. We were driving around Italy so free onsite parking was also a bonus. On site restaurant was excellent and rooms were very spacious and had everything you could want.
Probably not the closest location if your sole reason for going there was to be checking out the centre of Rome.
Location beautiful. Shuttle bus for €5 per person each way was handy. Took a visit into Centre of Rome 2x. Stops right outside Vatican city. Hotel looks lovely. Rooms nicely decorated. Breakfast was ok but not much variety but was expected as buffet style. staff speak good English. Nice romantic location and we enjoyed visiting here.
Didn't have coffee/tea facilities or an iron which surprised me. For the size of this hotel we expected more facilities like a pool or somewhere to exercise. Restaurant was expensive but was expected as you are quite far from anywhere else to eat. Remember they charge tourists city tax per person per day.
This hotel was a welcome relief from our previous one in the center of room. The room was amazing and we really enjoyed the breakfast. We stayed here for a wedding but would recommend it if you wanted to stay outside of Rome.
The WiFi was a bit hit and miss.
Very nice and romantic place Kind staff Nice breakfast
Really long distance from Rome. We needed at least 25-30 minutes with GPS depending on traffic.
location, room, breakfast
local bus difficult to time, menu limited
I never write reviews but after our stay here on our honeymoon we were both so disappointed that I thought others should be aware of what this hotel is like! We are both really easy going people and were really shocked by how unprefessional the staff were. Every night there were weddings being held there and the music was blasting until 3am right outside our room! The staff kept calling us in the middle of the night to ask if we wanted transport into Rome (an hours drive away) they charge a bomb to take you there and if you don't have a car you have to use buses which takes around 3.5 hours! The breakfast was really bad too (like school food) and all round really disappointing stay! If you go to Rome try and stay closer even if it costs a little more! Will save you time stress and maybe even money as we were paying 60£ each way to get to Rome!
The country view and breakfast were lovely. Staff was kind and communicated in English.
Location was too removed. Cost of hotel was good, but was expensive after factoring in travel to and from the city for several days and airport transfer. Staying in the city would have allowed us to use more public transit. No cell service and no reliable internet (though marketed). No English channels or available subtitles.
The hotel itself is beautiful and well kept.
The excesssive prices for dinner and laundry services. They have a monopoly based on the surrounding area and it seems awfully pricey. Also, our first night there was a wedding reception taking place and there were obnoxious fireworks going off after midnight.
The locations and the surroundings were lovely. Staff were very helpful and the shuttle service into Rome everyday was a real bonus. Was lovely to start and finish each day with a trip through pastures and rural surrounds. Breakfast was terrific with a great range and wonderful genuine home cooked pastries.
The restaurant meal of an evening I thought was average and expensive. The first night especially was very average and the waiter quite abrupt. Breakfast service however made up for the evening meal.
Location was beautiful, staff very helpful and the food was excellent
Distance from the city centre of Rome is quite far, however the hotel offers to bring you everywhere in Rome for a very fair price
Beautiful location and buildings. Isolated with no bar facilities or snack services. We got to witness some beautiful fireworks for a wedding though.
Would be nice to have later transfers available into rome so to enjoy the evening atmosphere.
outside of the city craziness nice landscaping Food was great
far outside city shuttle only at 0900 and 1900 poor management Need more activities around the hotel. Possibly a shuttle to different places
We like to use this accommodation to get us to the airport for a late morning flight. Not for the faint of heart, it's on back roads and you have to have a good sense of direction, a good map or GPS to get there. It leaves you with a pleasant 30 minute drive to Fumicino Airport. Front desk staff always very cooperative and helpful. Good quality accommodation. Food OK.
That close to Rome you might like some English TV. On a hot day such as we had, a pool would be a great addition..they have the space. Breakfast service the morning we were there was not up to their usual good standards...cold scrambled eggs...seemed to be some staff issue going on that morning...ask for warm milk for your tea and eyes were rolled....whispering at the bar between the female staff and a guy who dropped in for a chat and a snack. It's some distance from anything of a cultural or aesthetic nature but it's great being in the countryside.
i like the hotel. it's beautiful , locates in a quite valley. the staffs were very helpful and professional. rooms were good. we didnt know they have shuttle bus service, which should be very good, only 5 euro for each ticket. then if don't have car, can still visit rome without problem. food from the restaurant was good.
rooms were not big, and the first night the water was not hot. but these were not big deal comparing with the nice environment.
the location was perfect for a quiet break but not good if you wanted to be near the centre and all the attractions
I booked a "private car with private driver" for the transfer from the airport to the hotel but not only was it the hotel shuttle bus that picked us up for the transfer we also had to wait for people to arrive from other flights. One couple we ended up waiting more than an hour for because they had a problem with their baggage. This is not a "private transfer"! In the end I got a 50% reduction in the price of the transfer but this I had to argue for! The bed in our room was incredibly squeaky so the least little movement produced a noise. Having returned from the city centre about 11pm I wanted to have a hot bath before bed but there was no hot water. I did report it to reception, twice, but the situation didn't change.
The hotel is great. Good installations and you can easily stay at the hotel property relaxing and enjoying the view.
The location was perfect. For visiting Rome. Allowed us to have quiet time outside a busy city. Directions off aa route finder a little vague. Food a little cold on the hot breakfast. Staff very friendly. Rooms beautiful.
Menu wasn't in English for evening meal so wasn't sure what I was ordering. A little expensive too. Disappoint no English channels on the tv. Some of the shower facilities didn't work and the shower leaked in room 107.
the hotel is great
we were in the hotel in january- it was quite cold in the room and bathroom and as we were with the baby it was a problem for us. But overall the hotel is very good
Not that good food
This hotel is quite a pleasant place to stay just outside Rome. We used it as a launch pad for a flight the next day..it's about a 30 minute drive from Fumicino airport.
