Score from 1065 reviews Very good
central location, room large & spacious, staff friendly, choice for breakfast, good to use as a base, air conditioning was a bonus, had fridge and safe.
no lift so might be problem for elderly/unfit guests, the old furniture was not in good order, not much English spoken, might appear impersonal to some. no ironing facilities.
Good breakfast Nice decor
Air conditioner didn't work. Some street noise.
We enjoyed a wonderful dinner in to town nearby. The hotel is clean and peaceful.
Decor is dated.
Staff very friendly. Everything, train station, leaning tower, restaurants etc all within walking distance. We were made to feel at home The breakfast was a good start to the day and the manager was pleased to arrange our transport back to the airport on our departure. Would definitely stay here again.
We stayed here twice in one week and had a different room each time. The second room was not quite as luxurious as the first and the air conditioning was noisy, but apart from those minor points, nothing bad to say.
Charming fin de siecle style of room, quiet, excellent breakfast, everything worked.
Location was perfect and hotel was very traditional
Parking was very fraught as area is not designed for cars
Everything - the lovely room, the old-fashioned charm of the building and furnishings, the lovely, helpful staff, the brilliant breakfast, plentiful hot water in the shower etc etc
Typical small Hotel. Unusual almost Renaissance decor. Perfect location for the tourist. Very helpful staff. Located on a pedestrianised street.
Room overlooking street was noisy at night. Needed to find the right combination of air con/window. If all else fails they do supply ear plugs
Great breakfast buffet, very friendly staff, perfect location to discover Pisa
A bit loud if you are in a room facing the main shopping street and noise at night bothers you.
Nice rooms Big bathroom Located in the city center Comfortable bed
In the nighttime hordes of mosquitoes will make sleeping impossible for few hours Some facilities where medicore (hairdryer was busted and the air conditioner was VERY loud)
Surprisingly complete amenities. Excellente location.
A/C unit could be much better. Breakfast is just OK.
Place was ok and cheap enough close enough to attractions but not train station as stated
Woke up in middle of the night with the strong feeling of a presence in the room and that it wanted us out! Never experienced that before and asked the man on reception in the morning about it and he rapidly developed bad English and suddenly no understandy. Googled the hotel afterwards and people have got photos of ghosts in the rooms. Very strange. Not the best but ok for what it is.
Street noise at night (Friday night) - earplugs were provided!
Location was good - near the river, and half-way between the station and the Tower.
Although not as expensive as some hotels in Pisa, it felt very overpriced compared to our hotel in Florence. On our first morning when we started coming downstairs we were ushered into the breakfast room. Breakfast was nice, but nothing remarkable. After our second night we also had breakfast. It was only when we checked out that we found out breakfast was not included and was €7 each - for adults and children! That was a costly sting of €56 that we weren't expecting, and we know we could have had a nicer and cheaper breakfast in a pasticceria just up the road!! In hindsight it felt a bit sneaky that we were ushered into breakfast after our first night. The only other complaint would be about the hot water for the shower. It was unreliable. It went cold after one person had showered. The hotel owner was friendly enough, and came up straight-away to look into it, and got it working, but after the next person it went cold again. Very annoying for a comparatively expensive hotel.
We stayed there this summer with our kids and my sister, and as always were delighted with the service, the decor, the price, the location, and the general ambiance. Very good value for money, and the staff really cannot do enough to accommodate you. This was our 5th time staying at this hotel, but it won't be the last- they put in an extra bed for my sister for one of the nights at no extra cost, accommodated an extreme flight delay which meant middle of the night arrival with no hassle, and just generally were fantastic. We love this hotel!!
Atmosphere, staff (especially Marco-so enthusiastically helpful) Breakfast choice unbelievable, decor superbly quaint Italian with all modern conveniences. 10 minutes walk from railway staion
Request a room at the back-bar close by did not close until 04.40-noise levels immense therefore very little sleep!
Located in the center of the city and close to everything. We enjoyed staying here!
The staff was very helpful with moving to another hotel due to booking cancellation, even helped with moving the bags.
My room was claimed to have problems with water supply, so the booking was cancelled with a notification to e-mail only. Having no Internet access during the vacation, it was a surprise to find out, that we are offered to move to another similar-priced hotel in the nearby
Great location. Nice bedroom and bathroom. Excellent breakfast
Great location, walking distance from station and The Tower area. 18th cent. restored building with charm. Staff very helpful. The suite had everything! Breakfast was great..I would recommend it
Being an OLD restored building rooms are not light and airy but definely not a problem.
All staff was good
The location was excellent for access to the main sites.
A busy cafe was located opposite, which opened quite early in the morning.
Beautiful hotel! Stunning room. Very good value for money. Other reviewes complained about noise but we slept soundly without a problem. Extremely helpful staff at check in. Both on arrival & departure someone helped carry our luggage up & down the stairs. Excellent location & great value for money.
Breakfast was not great but we didn't care as the positives of staying in such beautiful surroundings far outweighed this one negative.
It is in the city centre and very close to the station.
The Street is crowded during the night. So it is hard to sleep because of the noise outside.
The location was right on the main drag. The rooms were surprisingly large and quite nice, and the shower was amazing! We've never had such a high tech washing experience.
Fair warning, the air conditioner might as well be wall decor. Closing the windows and running the AC left the room sweltering. We had a little more luck in the evening with opening the windows in the room and bathroom and letting the breeze blow through. Luckily it was a corner room.
