Location was perfect. Breakfast is basic, but sufficient. From hot dishes they give only boiled egges.
I booked a quadruple room which due to the description on site is composed of 2 interconnecting rooms with 2 twin and 1 queen beds. The total size of 2 rooms should be 26 sq.m. When we arrive in the evening to the hotel we were given the quadruple room which consisted of 1 room with a queen bed around 17 m and 1 tiny room which was triangular and around 8 sq.m! where the hotel staff managed to put a two-storied bed for 2 teenagers, a table, a chair and a refrigerator, so no space at all to moove. We asked the hotel staff to change the room as it was not the same to what is described on site and seen on their photos, but they said the hotel was full. Next day we announced we move from the hotel and had to call to Booking.com team to solve the problem with payment. Booking resolved the problem quackly and we paid for 1 night and mooved to a nice cheaper B&B immediately. If you go to that hotel be sure that Quadruple room will be normal size 2 rooms. I was very dissapointed with this experience.
Giuseppe on reception was very helpful with good tips for Rome. Room was comfortable. Free WIFI was good.
Minor gripe - our room was next to breakfast area so was a little noisy but it did get us up early!
the location was amazing, close to everything. the staff were great, also the breakfast and the room were amazing
nothing was bad
Staying in this area feels less touristy than near the Pantheon. We liked being close to Vatican and shopping on Del Reino. The rooms are comfortable and very little sound from the street. The newly renovated areas are nicer than old style.
Old style rooms have a small shower.
A very nice hotel, confortable, clean and good looking, just few steps from vatican.
no complains to do
We stayed at Hotel Relais dei Papi from 6/jan to 9/jan/2015, and all I can summarize our stay as wonderful. We were a family group of 5 adults (including 2 marriages), and they gave us a familiar room, consisting on 2 independent but connected bedrooms that we enjoyed a lot. The decoration is great, and both the bedroom and the bathroom were so comfortable. Moreover, they include a very well balanced and delicious breakfast that is unique on its kind. They do not offer you only bread and coffee, they give you yoghurt, cheese, ham, bread, nutella, and a lot of different things that make your stay even more wonderful. Last but not least, we had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Giuseppe. He is a very kind man that was always happy to help us in whatever we wanted, he even gave us a free Rome guide, reccommended us a nice restaurant, and shared with us some photos with pope Francis. If you need something during your stay, I am sure that he will be so happy to help you. In conclusion, I think that this is a place with a lot of good qualities: it is beautiful, comfortable, the staff is great, it has a great location if you inted to visit the Vatican, and you get a great value for your money. I think that every hotel of the world should be like this nice place. I highly reccommend Hotel Relais dei Papi for your next trip to Rome.
I really liked all here!!!! I do not have any bad comment.
The design of the room The hotel is close to the main attractions
They don't have rooms for smokers
Excellent location. Many restaurants nearby. Good breakfast.
Bed too high if you have mobility issues.
Kind and helpful staff. The hotel is clean and neat. City center, near Vatican. Friendly price.
Modest dining room, poor (almost French) breakfast. Sometimes noisy early morning if the room located to the street side.
Excellent help on the front desk. Very helpful and informative.
Breakfast was nothing flash
Not comfortable bed and air conditioning doesn't work
The hotel is small and cozy; the Stuff is friendly, ready to help and speak English. Good location: a few minutes from the Lepanto metro station and in a short distance from Vatican museums. A lot of shops and bars in the area. Saying the long story short: Worth you money.
The hotel is well situated near Vatican museum and close to the lovely center .the hotel is in the 4 th floor and the first day of my arrival the elevator was broken and nobody were there to help us for the luggages !!! The personnel knows only to give you the main informations room number time for breakfast and the visit map if you ask them sth more specific unfortunately they don't know to answer .however they are friendly the breakfast is not good and the breakfast place small some times you have to wait for a clean table
The staff was the best I ever encountered. This was my 20th trip to Italy and I have never had such caring and responsible staff at a hotel as this one.
Location was excellent base to see all the sights, Giuseppe on the desk was brilliant host and couldn't do enough for us
Poor wifi in the room but I think this was just our room as it was excellent as soon as we left the room
The staff were very helpful
The room is super small
Decor of hotel, rooms Staff..not one complaint..excellent Location Breakfast Cleanliness Location Transport Culture Buildings Tours Everything and more..
View from windows Tv..channels catering for overseas visitors ie English Small lift but understand it is part of the buildings heritage
Central location. Large room. Large bathroom Close to the metro Close to the Vatican Excellent restaurants & shopping at your doorstep Fast free wireless Excellent breakfast Friendly informative reception
First of all the Pros: 10 minute walk from the Vatican City. Many shops, malls, restaurants and ice cream shops within walking distance. The staff was honest, and professional. Except the guy on the late night shift who appeared to struggle with the English language and didn’t seem to care for anything. 30 Minute cab ride from CIA. 7 minute walk from USO!
Now the CONS: Pictures of rooms are deceiving. Adequate for one max 2 people. But still no space what so ever. We were a family of 4 and it is not a family hotel. We have lived in Europe for many years now so we can adjust to the limited spacing and we made it work with 2 adults, 2 children under 5, 3 bags and 2 strollers. However do not select based on pictures. Breakfast was included but if you like bread, yogurts and juice with coffee you are GTG. We needed more than that so we walked to McDonalds about 5 minutes from hotel. For a European bathroom it was ok in size for shower. And is not the one you see in the pictures. But not your typical hotel shower. Oh and the worst part of all… the add says it has A/C but it is not an individual A/C, IT IS A HEATER! Elevator in hotel was very small (still European style). Wifi… lol… only one bar on my laptop. Smart Phones and I pads, forget it… no signal! In summary for 5 nights we made the best of it and were able to see all the historical landmarks by walking, cab ride or buses, but would not recommend it for groups more than 2 and would cough up the extra $ for more comfort and better breakfast.
Everything was good. We met Josephe At hotel reception desk who welcomed us and gave a fantastic introduction to the city and recomamded a lovely resturant. Great place to stay!
The staff are very caring and relate well with guests.
Some of the rooms are too small and tight for a double room, they may be okay for singles
Location politeness of the staff
Price was not adequate for this type of hotel They should have warned that it is situated on some floors of the building Photos are misleading about the size of the room The reception is calling at 22:15 to find out when I am going to check -out tomorrow The smallets brkfst I have ever had in Italian hotels
Location in a very nice quite part in the area of Vatican. Many famous places in Roma are about 20 - 30 min by walk. Personal is very kind and helpful. Perfect in English. Very good shop in the by building were you can by some small 'gifts' for your friends at home.
Breakfast room is too small and ofter too ful of people.
Perfect location for visitor to Vantican city, only 10 mins walking distance to San Pietro. Also warking distance to metro station and airport shuttle bus. Front desk staff are friendly and helpful . Breakfast room is very small, but the food is good. Confortable bed, 24-hour hot water, modern decration, everything is good except the room size, but this is Rome, right?
The hotel share entry gate and an old fasion elevator with several departments. There is a sign in front of the entrance. Need to be careful unless you'll miss it.
Location, location , location - 5 min walk to the Vatican Close to the mertro and shopping area.
Not enough place in the breakfast area. Got a room with a very old bed - not as seen in the images. walls are thin you can hear sounds from other rooms and breakfast area - typical to all our hotels in Italy
