We liked everything about it. There are a lot of small things that really matters, like choice of pillows, extra blanket made of real wool, garbage can with possibility to separate plastic, paper and bio waste. Breakfast is amazing, big choice of local products, selections of tea, very nice atmosphere. Elena (the owner, I guess?) gave us very warm welcome. Nice pizzeria next door.
Everything. The owners, friendly staff, the accommodations, afternoon tea, excellent breakfast, lovely rooms
The movies got so bites
There is no lift which may be a bit of a bother if you arrive with luggage - it wasn't for us because we had all the help we could need - and more - from the staff. This is off the beaten track - which again - for us is a plus. It's a real haven away from the hustle and bustle of the Ligurian Riviera. The only real drawback is that there are few restaurants in the vicinity - although the ones recommended by the hotel, albeit rather rustic, provided ample fare!
This hotel definitely deserves more than its 3-star rating. The rooms are exquisite, the staff exceptionally friendly and helpful, everywhere is immaculately clean [the hotel staff actually cleans street signs outside and hoovers up leaves on the public road the length of the hotel]. The setting is idyllic. Breakfast is a real treat. Really not much to criticise. We highly recommend this hotel.
The view was on a blind wall.
Staff wa superfriendly & Interior was very nice en good.
We had the most relaxing week at the Relais Del Maro. Comfortable, tastefully decorated rooms. Fabulous garden - sun-lit by day; candle-lit by night. A breakfast buffet to delight, with un-metered prosecco if you must! Afternoon tea with an array of teas to choose from. Such attention to detail in everything. Be sure to sample the homemade daily pie at breakfast time, and cake of the day at tea time. Ask for details of the walks to do from the hotel or from nearby locations. Though a small village, there's no shortage of choice to eateries. Pizzeria next door serves massive pizzas - delicious too. Censin da Bea down the road serves an almost endless set menu all inclusive of wine, water and wicked digestifs. Nearby Lucinasco has a great trattoria that serves a very refined menu of local dishes - the red pepper with anchovy sauce there was sublime. So many other places to eat that we'll surely return to the Relais del Maro for another week of relaxation and indulgence!
The hotel is gorgeous and breakfast is absolutely amazing. Elena and Piera, the owners, completely understand how customer experience drives business - they tried to do everything possible to make our stay as pleasant as possible. They've also hired very well. The cleaning staff - in particular Violetta - and the lady at breakfast (Viola, I think her name is) read every wish from your lips. It was like being at a friend's house - everyone was so nice and forthcoming.
What is not to like with this perfect hidden spot located in the small village Borgomaro. In good distance from the hustle and bustle at the Rivera, but still close enough to many interesting spots. Relais del Maro itself is the perfect spot for a relaxing vacation with excellent surroundings, perfectly manicured garden and pool area and very clean rooms. The food was very good (breakfast and lunch) and the neighbouring pizza place served some very delicious pizzas. We will be coming back again with our 2 children who also loved the place.
The facilities of the pool and relaxation area was limited due to size of the garden and pool. It was difficult to obtain a lounger and swim when busy. Loungers were left with towels on when not in use!
Staff efficiency and the quality of breakfast was excellent. Location being in a quiet village.
What a beautiful place and what a nice people! We would highly recommend this place and would love to go there again!
the area is a bit run down. only one restaurant open in the area on a Monday. Could be a tad gloomy in bad weather. The place is very architect designed and you could say it is like Tuscan German in Liguria.
This place is made up to an exceptionally high standard. Breakfast is excellent. Staff are very helpful. This place does give a lot of work to the local community and is run by locals I hate to guess how much this place cost to renovate The tea bar is truly exceptional.
Excellent attention to detail & very friendly staff. Well worth the visit.
