Relais Le Clarisse  

η εξυπηρετηση του Gianfranco και της εξαιρετικής κοπέλας στην αίθουσα πρωινού. η καθαριότητα του δωματιου επισης.. ο εσωτερικός κοινός κήπος με τα τραπεζάκια και τα φυτά ήταν ενδιαφέρων... πολυ καλό και το πρωινό !

η έλλειψη παράθυρου στο δωμάτιο μας...με μία είσοδο φωτός δεν παίρνεις "αναπνοές"..

The location was great, we could walk to the main sites in Rome. there was also bus and tram stops nearby. The local area was lively with lots of pizzerias, decent restaurants and bars, all within walking distance. But the hotel was in a quiet side street and for the 3 nights we stayed we were not disturbed at night by any street noises.

Excellent location, quiet room, superb breakfast!

The staff was pleasant and friendly, especially the lady in charge of breakfast. The location is good, near nice restaurants, the tram line, the river.

We went on our honeymoon and my wife asked me to book something relaxing with a Jaccuzzi, so, based on the reviews, the executive suite of the Relais seemed like a good idea. Well, it turns out the main feature of our room was broken. The Jaccuzzi could not heat the water, did not have operational jets, no lights etc. What is worse is that when I went to inquire about it they knew and claimed the repairman had already been called. What is even worse is that, reading the more recent reviews, I see that the Jacuzzi was broken according to a review 3 weeks before our stay! And what is insulting is that their solution was to give us a 10% discount, when our suite was a full 30% more expensive than the non- Jaccuzzi one. I did not want to make a fuss on my honeymoon, besides there was only a reception girl there, so I let it pass... Other negatives are the smell of mold in the Jaccuzzi area, the sewage smell in the bathroom and the fact that there was no acknowledgement this was our honeymoon (except the reservation response email), forget the rose petals you see in the photos. Also, there was a table in front of our front door where people would sit and chat and be heard quite clearly from our bed... I would suggest to avoid the suites, for your special moments you can do better (and not more expensive either).

The staff, especially the breakfast staff the first five days, where exceptionally service minded and kind!

We where upgraded to an Executive suite, which had a bathroom with a plastic brim around the partly broken Jaccuzzi completley full with mould! (We never used the jacuzzi). Theree was a terrible smell in the tiolet in the Executive suite despite the fans. They obviously had some problems with the sewage in that tiolet. The Executive suite had no window(!), just a glass door with heavy curtains. (Felt like living in a cave) The last night we had to change room to a standard room; quite small for three persons, but very much nicer, with a window and an ok bathroom (just a little bit of mould arond the shower).

Relais Le Clarisse is a short tram ride from the main tourist area. The tram is very close to the hotel. The hotel is located in a busy neighborhood filled with locals and fabulous cafes/restaurants. The area is very safe...people are walking around all day and night. The hotel staff are friendly and accommodating. They speak English very well. The breakfast buffet is fresh and plentiful. Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We would definitely stay in this hotel again. If you are a woman travelling alone, you might want to request a room in the main hotel; for us, as a couple, a room in the annex was fine. (Note: the garden view room we originally booked was unavailable. However, the hotel advised us of this, a few days before our arrival, and gave us a price break. We were satisfied with the changed arrangements.)

Since I was in Italy on holiday with an intention of experiencing the local culture, I specifically choose B&B's and not hotels in all but one of the seven places I visited. I did see reviews which complained about the fact that you have to carry a bunch of keys around (to ensure that you can enter the property after hours) but for me this was just part of the experience. The room I stayed in - Oleandro, was in the 'new' extension and very clean, neat and quaint. The continental breakfast was about the best laid out from all the B&Bs I stayed in during my trip and the lady in charge was very kind and helpful. It was also a nice experience to live in a more residential neighbourhood of Rome, which was still just a short distance away from the main sights and even the Vatican - rather than be stuck in the touristy areas around the station. Public transport - buses and trams to the main sights are close at hand and easy to use. Even my transfer from the airport, which I managed by local train and bus, and back to the train station was very easy. As a single woman traveller, it did not feel unsafe to be living in this area (a couple of harmless tramps were all I did see). They were unable to facilitate an early check in (and to be fair, did not promise it either) but you can store your luggage and lunch/ brunch at the neighbourhood restaurants/ cafe. Based on my experience in Italy, the price for the quality of accomodation was within a reasonable range (as my Italian friends also assured me).

I had a double room for single use and strangely enough the double bed had two different matresses - one which was very uncomfortable, but I quickly figure it out and shifted to the other side and had a restful sleep. Unfortunately, I forgot to mention this to the staff but will do so now that I am back, so hopefully the problem will be easily solved. Previous reviews have mentioned that street sounds in the 'new' wing are rather loud at night and I would agree however since I am used to living in an urban setting it was not unmanageable for me. If you are a light sleeper - ear plugs would be required. The room was extremely comfortable in the summer with an excellent air conditioner but I suspect that the rather rustic door might allow undesirable drafts to enter the room the in the winter.

The hotel is located just a short stroll away from the bars and restaurants. The room was lovely with a brick vaulted ceiling The room was constantly kept warm Breakfast was plentiful and the coffee was good. The staff are excellent

+ Breakfast was very good and the location excellent. A good base to explore Rome.

It is very close to the Ministry Building I was visiting It is clean and in the rooms there is free wifi some of the rooms are very spacious (not the last one)

The fridge was not working and very noisy. I had to disconnect

We lived in a 4 beds room, and all of my friends were very satisfied to the hotel. The desk lady was very nice and answered all the question patiently. The breakfast was so yummy! Overall, I like this hotel, and I will recommend to my friends.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Room and facilities were newly renovated and clean. Room was quiet despite busy neighborhood.
