Breakfast is simple [cereals, pastries, boiled eggs , yoghurts, fresh fruit, cold cuts and home made baking ] but of high quality. However I strongly suggest investment in a new 4 slice toaster.
The hotel was small , personal and a lovely experience.
We had booked for Valentines Weekend and were surprised by the good value offered. What we experienced was even better than hoped.
Reflecting its history [once a home to Benedictine nuns ] the décor was largely rustic - with terracotta floors , pine furniture and high ceilings , but the amenities were modern with cable TV , a large bathroom featuring a Jacuzzi bath and Wi-Fi. The bed was very comfortable and the lighting adjustable.
Facing onto a small and picturesque courtyard the room was peaceful despite being in the heart of the buzzing Trastevere district.
The best feature of the hotel were the excellent staff. At front desk they were welcoming ,knowledgeable and keen to assist. In the breakfast room the young lady [ there were only 5 tables so just one member of staff ] was cheerful and efficient. And the room maids were smiley and proficient. All went out of there way to make our stay feel special and personal.
And the location was ideal for our needs ; the local streets were full of good restaurants and bars ; The Vatican , St Peters , The Coliseum , The Forum and other highlights of the city were within a 20 minute walk. And there were local shops and a small market on the doorstep.
This hotel was an excellent discovery ; we shall look forward to returning.
