The hotel receptionist was extremely helpful and friendly. The facilities are excellent. The architecture of the hotel is beautiful, the rooms are decorated with a great eye for detail. The breakfast area is flooded with light overlooking the beautiful garden and the pool. The city centre is a 7-8 minutes walk, but you will definitely need it after all the pasta and pizza you've been eating. There is free parking space, and it's quiet during the night. I warmly recommend this hotel.

It was perfect for me: a delightful, immaculate, stylishly restored/designed, small property surounded by manicured lawns and a small pool. I had a perfect room with absolutely all facilities - on the ground level. Secure on-site parking. Easy to find from Mararea-sud access. Hospitable proprietor and courteous, most helpful staff. 5 mins on foot to the edge of the action/old town. It may be 5 mins down into town...but it's a puffing steep climb back up

Great location once we found the facility. Breakfast was adequate but somewhat limited. Staff was very helpful and allowed us to park our car in their lot while we went for a walk to town after we had checked out. Very clean and they have a lovely pool, which we did not use. Could have stayed a second night. Check out time of 10:00 am is a little earlier than we are accustomed to seeing. Bed was quite hard.

Let me start with Imma. She has got to be one the best hostess/receptionist/concierge in all of Italy. From the friendly email confirming my reservation to calling and making reservations at local restaurants to calling and having pizza delivered to my room...she was amazing. The hotel was an oasis of tranquility just on the outskirts of town. My wife, my son and I spent many hours at the pool which was a dream for the hot weather. The Sassi and town are so close...right down a set of stairs less than half a km and you are there. We spent mornings around the town...afternoons at the pool...and then back to the city in the evening. If you really want to feel at home...ask for room 114 where you have you own entrance without the stairs, easy ground access to the pool, an outside table, and easy access to the back gate. Good luck finding something wrong!

Rooms were comfortable, well-appointed, quiet, and the Hotel itself was of historical significance. There was a very nice pool area to come back to at the end of sightseeing. Understand that the Hotel is not in the major part of the historical district. It is within walking distance, but it is (for ome of us) a long walk there.

Ottima posizione a 10/15 minuti a piedi dal centro. Personale molto cordiale e disponibile.

“The Hotel was in the Heart of the Sassi in Matera, Italy. The Sassi is 12,000 years old and the adventrure of staying in a hotel built into the mountainside was intriging along with fascination! The staff was great and a perfect continental breakfast comes with the stay, the rooms were very clean. There is a full restaurant right across the street. In Matrea there are plenty of places to shop and the the town is very busy! ” Lisa, Carrollton |
