    Every single thing

It was raining when we got there but lovely umbrellas were provided so even that wasn't a problem

We absolutely loved it.The design is stunning and is located right in the historic center! Rooms and SPA are delightful. Staff was very welcoming. The restaurant's design over Roman ruins is beautiful and the food is amazing; very promising young chef.

    Nothing.

    The hotel structure is amazing

Staff polite and gentle, but missing passion for hotellerie. I suggest a concierge to better advise guests and find solutions.

After spending one month in Italy, this short stay at San Lorenzo was a refreshing change. Everything is new, modern, clean, and fresh. San Lorenzo is perfectly located in City Alta, making it easy to explore. The staff was extremely accommodating, helping us with several requests and thereby making our visit to Bergamo perfect. For example, we arrived mid afternoon, just when all restaurants close. The San Lorenzo kitchen staff stayed a little longer and prepared us a fine meal.

There was no night light in our room, so I had to use my IPad to guide the way.

The staff at the Relais San Lorenzo is of the rare kind nowadays, they think;) They offered us rooms on the same floor as they saw we were one family, very kind gesture without asking. The restaurant recommendations were superb. Hotel is very new and in the mint condition. And Bergamo is a very beautiful city. Now with this hotel- more reasons to come. Can't wait to be back.

Great location, staff were excellent and good value for money for a 5 star hotel.

The spa was fairly underwhelming (ie. no spa, just steam room).

Situated in a quiet square in the middle of this beautiful old city. The Roman and Renaissance excavations incorporated into the dining room and bar areas. The bus to the airport and train station is only 100m away.

The location was excellent, so was the architecture of the building and the facilities. The staff was friendly too. The room and the hotel was very clean. The breakfast was top quality though there were few choices. Very good wi-fi speed though the codes expired often and we had to ask for new ones. The spa facilities looked very promising but unfortunately we did not get full access for no reason

We did not get full access to the spa facilities, though it was included in the high price we paid for the room. Instead we had to wait at least 20 minutes so that the hotel staff could prepare (?) the spa facilities and at the end they gave us access only to the relax sauna area, which is really unacceptable. Also when we asked for a massage treatment, they told us there was only one therapist to treat us and it would take one hour for him/her to reach the hotel. There was no sound proof at the rooms' door and we could hear every single thing that was going on in our corridor. Fortunately the hotel was not full.

Bergamo old town location is excellent, walking distance to everything.

Access roads to old town and parking bit of a challenge. Navigation couldnt find it and send me against one way streets, so be aware.

The place is perfect! Maybe that's the point. Perfection doesn't necessarily come along with cosiness. And design isn't the answer to all the questions. Of course everything was very tasteful. But still what was missing was a place where one could linger. Relax.. Have a coffee or tea. As we stayed there in november the nice terrace wasn't an option. The restaurant -built around those beautiful ancient walls- where you are having breakfast- is too dark... Hard to wake up there...;) Yes, one could stay in the room but even there some daylight was missing. The window could have been bigger to enjoy the lovely valley view. So the rest of the window* wall is covered with huge chocolate brown curtains... Dark! (*Maybe there were some restrictions the architect had to face). If you want to see Bergamo Alta maybe you should go in spring or sommer. Though it's hard to imagine the streets around the piazza vecchia even more packed with visitors. It already has been more than crowded despite the season.

    Location

Glass bathroom. Little privecy. Upon checkout asked if we consumed anything from minibar. Than they send someone to check room minibar content. Strange practice. In that case why not check minibar and then inform you what you had. Like this you avoid making customer look like a thief. Just a tip.

    location rooms design

you have to pay the parking (30 euro ) per less than 24 h. I think it should be free in a 5 stars hotel

We stayed at this hotel on our way to Malpensa airport. The location is terrific. It allowed us to stroll through the Citta Alta for a couple of very pleasant hours. The staff has accommodate our requests (minor) promptly -- with a smile.

The decor of the room is a bit cold and sterile.
