Relais UffiziChiasso Del Buco 16, Uffizi, 50122 Florence (Show map) Very good, Score from 109 reviews“The lounge fronts on the Piazza della Signoria on the third floor. We were able to watch all of the activity on the piazza and hear an opera from the windows.”

In a 16th-century building, overlooking Piazza della Signoria, Relais Uffizi offers spacious rooms with free Wi-Fi access. The Uffizi Gallery and Ponte Vecchio are both just a 5-minute walk away. The hotel's elegant rooms are decorated with antique furnishings and original artwork. Each is air conditioned and has a minibar and a TV. Some are located in the annex, a few yards away. At the Uffizi Relais, a continental breakfast buffet is served in the panoramic breakfast hall. There is also a library on every floor with a variety of books and magazines. Hotel Rooms: 15

Location was outstanding. Hotel is in a 14th century building with amazing views. We were in the annex which has about 20 stairs on a narrow case you have to climb before getting to a lift. Very hard to do with big suitcases. Staff weren't very helpful - only 1 member helped us with tours, the others said we had to do it ourselves. Breakfast was meager at best; yogurts, cheese etc were warm, not readily replenished, pastries were reused each day even in the hot weather. Your really paying for the location not the services.

The location is fantastic and this is the reason to come here. You are right on the plaza and close to just about everything. Staff were helpful. We were in the annex section of the hotel. The room was very smelly: almost like a cellar even though on the second floor. Also very noisy: lots of crashing bottles being loaded just below the window. Other issue was it is very difficult to drive to. The driving directions take you to some tiny side street miles away. Best just to drive to garage on the opposite side bridge (costs around 24 euros per 24hrs). Rooms in the main hotel looked a little better and didn't seem to smell.

Great location around the corner from the Uffizi Gallery in the Piazza Della Signoria. Basic breakfast including bread, cold meats and breakfast cake. There was a bowl of fruit on most of the days I was there, and one choice of cereal. They prepared a fresh coffee for you though which was great. Close to the train station and shopping. Definitely go to the San Lorenzo markets before you go to the shops as there is a good range and reasonable prices there. You can walk to a lot of places from the hotel, easy to get around. Take the number 12 bus to Michelangelo Piazza there is a nice view from there. The Pisa tour was pretty good too if you have time. Very hot in May when I went. I would recommend the hotel, but only the main hotel part, and not in the lower floors. There are two sections to the hotel, the main hotel building and another building down an alley located nearby. I stayed in the other building and being alone I felt uncomfortable in the alley at night. The room looked out onto another alley with garbage bins and was quite noisy, however with earplugs was ok. The Wifi is not available anywhere except in the reception area so I had to walk down from the other building to the main building and go to reception, where there are a few chairs to sit. CNN is the only English language channel so you will get sick of watching that very soon. Watch out for people on mopeds stealing women's bags off their shoulders in the street, happened right in front of me, keep your handbag on your opposite shoulder from the street. The Uffizi Gallery doesn't allow photography which was very disappointing. Everyone seems to smoke there especially at restaurants, it's foul.

Location and proximity to shops and main sights Room lighting inadequate and made the rooms look rather dull and dirty - although they weren't No mirror in bedroom - hotel obviously designed by men for men! Women need mirrors and plugs for haridryers and straightners and good brigth lighting for applying make up! Street was noisy all night due to refuse collection and street cleaning activities. I was glad I had brought earplugs

The hotel entrance can be difficult to find but the driver of the car service we had from the airport took the time to find the location. It's in a beautiful alley type of street that opens up to the Piazza Signoria which is next to the must-see Uffizi Gallery. It could not have been a better location! I found the most interesting spots (restaurants, shops, hotels) in Florence were in these thin alley streets. The room was quiet and the staff was very kind and welcoming! It is a 3 star hotel so do not expect to be pampered but if you want a wonderful Italian experience than I highly recomend Relais Uffizi

- Great location next to all attractions. - 20 minutes walking from the train station. - Clean and spacious room, and most of all air-conditioned !. I didn’t expect to see such a spacious room in Florence, after all the bad reviews that I read before traveling. - A cozy family owned and managed hotel, so you will feel at home … you will NOT get the feel of a luxurious relaxing hotel … for me this is not a drawback, but some would see it differently! - The hotel is surrounded by restaurants, pizzerias and groceries. Look for a supermarket chain called Despar around the hotel. I feel it offers the best variety and prices. - Staff speak good English. - Free internet WiFi. - Terrible breakfast …. Consider as if your room is without Breakfast coz you will barely find anything to eat! … Bread and Croissant are refilled, but very minimal quantities. - Almost impossible to find the hotel coz it’s located in a very tinny street … I was 25 meters away of the hotel and simply can’t find it or see it! … I asked couple of Police Officers for directions, they were very helpful trying to assist me, but had no clue where the hotel is … although I discovered later they were standing infront of the hotel (on Piazza Segnorina), however, the entrance of the hotel was on a backstreet from the piazza! - Check-out is earlier than what you would expect … 11 am to 12 pm … I asked for late checkout, I was given till 12 pm! … however, I was allowed to keep my luggage at the lobby of the hotel. - Beware that the hotel has an annex (where I was staying, and actually liked it more than the hotel itself). The annex DOESN’T have an elevator to take you to the first floor, so if you have problems with stairs, don’t book at the annex. - You will be given keys to the room … actual keys, not swiping cards, so I was always afraid to lose them!

We totally enjoyed our stay - romantic and rustic yet comfortable, location central to everything of interest to a visitor (right next to the Uffizi Museum, Piazza di Signoria (as I recall the name), the Arno River and the Duoma. It was also good value with discounts for staying longer and paying cash. The negatives are minor. We didn't like the "Americano" coffee - tasted like instant rather than espresso with hot water added. So I learned to just order espresso. Also, one of the juices (believe it was meant to be orange juice) tasted like "Tang" - or some instant variety of that. The key to our attic room door was clumsy and could trap a person during a fire (there should have been just a thumb lock on the inside). That's it.

Your friendly and very helpful staff. Relaxed atmosphere and very convenient location.Rob Cushman recommended your hotel after we stayed at his farmhouse in Umbria. There were a lot of dish crashing noises outside the window of our room, but I doubt that in such a busy area that could be avoided. I would probably request a quieter room, had we known, but other than that one early morning awakening, I would say your hotel is a wonderful spot while visiting Florence. We had many questions and every member of the staff was so kind and cheerful. Thank you. We will not forget our trip to Florence.

This hotel has a great area overlooking the Piazza Della Signoria. Entrance is on a small street just off the Pizzia. The staff here were absolutely wonderful - great service and really helpful! Also, our room was spacious and roomy with a separate upstairs sitting room and bath. The location was great with terrific access to the Piazza, the Uffizi and Ponte Vecchio and only a short walk from the Duomo. We loved it! The only drawback here was that you can overhear the glass recycling collections in the morning, and they do start pretty early. Of course, this isn't the hotel's fault. Maybe if they could install some soundproof windows this would help. However, we really did enjoy our stay and would certainly stay here again.

The Relais Uffizi is a wonderful and welcoming hotel, with extra large rooms, and so close to the Uffizi gallery that within 30 seconds of walking from the hotel entrance you are already in the gallery entrance. Location of the hotel is the best, on the Piaza della Signoria. The hotel crew are warm and hosting prices are reasonable and all Firenze attractions are in short walking distance.

The location was excellent. It was impossible to find. Since it was in the city center it was loud. All the restaurants around were discarding bottles into trash cans all hours of the of the night. The alley to get to it was also kinda gross. We were travelling with 2 toddlers and there were enough stairs and narrow halls to make me not want to stay there again. Nice enough place, just not for us.
