We liked the convenience of the Relais Uffizi in relation to the sightseeing attractions in Florence. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. The staff very friendly.
When we booked our room we asked for a ground floor room as my husband is disabled. From the breakfast room to our bedroom we had to take two lifts and a steep flight of marble stairs. The lifts were no problem however had we known about the steep flight of marble stairs we would not have booked this hotel.
Great location. Walk everywhere
Little shabby but clean Hard to find first time
So close to all major sites
everything was wonderful
Location Breakfast Nice view from breakfast room on the Piazza della Signoria and on the cupola of Duomo
Arrival by car
Deluxe rooms were good, standard are to small. Traditional house.
The corridors had an issue with flooring. To much cushion, carpets and sofas in lobby, bit dusty.
The location is perfect for sight seeing. The staff was very nice and helpful with maps and suggestions. The breakfast was very nice with a great view from the sitting area. The rooms are very unique and fun.
The Wi-Fi is NOT good. This is not the hotel for those unable to walk stairs, as it is required for getting to the rooms. I agree with another traveler that the walkway outside can get a bit noisy, but it didn't really bother us.
very good location! nice staff!
The room was very comfortable, the bed was fine, the temperature in the room was fine, the breakfast was lovely, and the view from the breakfast area was spectacular. The location is superb.
There was not enough space in the bathroom for cosmetics and bath articles, and no drawers in the room for underwear and small articles. My cosmetics kept falling to the floor. A small additional shelf or cabinet in the bathroom would improve comfort tremendously. I was in Room 12.
Felt like a 2-3 star hotel even by European standards, not the 3-4 star as advertised. There was nothing "wrong" with our stay or room, but certainly nothing impressive either. Expected more considering the price, star rating, and Rick Steve recommendation.
Location is perfect and our room was clean. Staff was very helpful.
The hotel is really old and dated. The breakfast was poor. Price we paid was not worth the stay.
This hotel sits right on Piazza della Signora. The entrance may be from a side street but the second floor reception / day room / breakfast room looks right out onto the square and I don't think they show that well here. The first picture on booking.com's main page for this hotel is truly from this window. I really feel like I hit a home run when I chose this hotel for our stay. We had the Junior Suite which was perfect for our family of four with two teenagers. We felt like we could really stretch out here. The breakfast was good.
Wifi had issues. Had to ask them to restart their wifi access point but it started failing again after about 3 hours. (nitpicking) The old fashioned need to leave the key at the reception desk when going out for the day. This was the method at one other place we stayed on our 23 day vacation. (nitpicking) the strange layout of the hotel with the entrance door and elevator on one level and the reception on the second floor in a different area. They have built a hotel inside of what must be several different buildings built at different times all about 500 years ago. For me, it gives a quaint, family run atmosphere, but some people might not like it.
the staff location
The location was central and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The building was clean and quiet.
It was a little hard to find at first. The hotel had emailed directions ahead and that helped. The Wi-Fi was spotty, but did what I needed it to do.
Location can not be beat! Staff and service fabulous and everything from room to breakfast was great! Saw many events just looking out of lounge windows on to Piazza Signorella.
Great location and unique rooms. The staff is very nice and helpful. Breakfast was as expected, no complaints. The location is the best selling points.
Lots of stairs, but after eating so much pastry and pasta we needed it!
the location and cleanliness of the hotel was good and the staff friendly
Access to the rooms is very difficult and uncomfortable, also the poor sound insulation of the room. The bathroom needs repairs loses water shower.
Location, friendly & clean
Difficult to find. Use the gps on iPhone!
Location and staff were very helpful.
Quality of hotel did not seem to justify the price. The WiFi only worked in a very small area.
The location was in the perfect place. the staff was very accommodating and the services was good.
The lack of WiFi - was not available all the time and the TV in my room was not working.
The location is superb, would definitely stay here again. It is easy to find if you know where to look, they could do with better directions. The staff are lovely. Breakfast excellent. We were in the annex which was a little noisy at times, but it is Central Florence.
The air con was not switched on, this seems to be the case in every hotel we stayed at in N.Italy in May. It meant it was a little stuffy but not a huge problem. Don't stay here if steps are a problem there are quite a few, even with the lift in the main building.
Beautiful location in 2 min from Piazza Signoria! It's the perfect place if you want to feel the medieval atmosphere - historic building, antiquarian furniture, elevator in style of Leonardo Da Vinci and perfect view on Palazzo Veccio from dining room.
If you are used to the classic chain hotels - you would not like it here. Hard to lift luggage, narrow staircase
Location was amazing. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was enough for a good start to the day. I will definitely stay here again when I return to florence.
It is not the hotel's fault, but there is a dormitory cafeteria up the alley and the noise is horrendous in the afternoon. Also the church bells next door ring the hour from 6:00 AM to 1:00 AM. The breakfast is minimal, the same fare everyday. There is a musty smell in the hallways.
