Relais Villa AnteaVia Francesco Puccinotti 46, Fortezza da Basso, 50129 Florence (Show map) Wonderful, Score from 85 reviews“This was the best hotel that we stayed in during our two week, four country vacation in Europe! The hotel staff arranged parking, museum tickets, city maps, and personal directions to locations that we visited in the city. The entire hotel was beautiful and we will definitely be going back for our future trips to Italy!!!”

We had a great time at Villa Antea! The staff was superfriendly and helpful, the room excellent - spacious, clean and in good taste, and the location is excellent - the hotel is on a quiet street but within walking distance from the center.

This is the best hotel in florence that I've stayed. The hotel exterior seems like a ordinary residence in Florence, but once I got inside the room, I couldn't imagine from its appearance as such as wonderful decoration. The room is large ,kept clean. Location was very convenient with transport links. Less than 10 min. To sta. Smn by bus, also bus route covers most of major attractions. I got to square Michelangero directly by bus. So I didn't get tired from walking at all. I enjoyed various breakfast with Ginori Tableware. All hotel staff are very warm and friendly. I'm sure to come back Antea next Florence!

Chose this hotel because of its location outside the dreaded ztl, but on arrival we were really surprised. A family villa converted into a small the room hotel with excellent service and wonderful and very helpful staff. Nice room with a small darkroom closet and a giant bathroom. Breakfast with homemade hot meals is also fantastic. Must be even better in the summer when breakfast is serves in the garden.

A quiet, clean, comfortable atmosphere. The staff makes all the difference. No task was too great; very willing to help with directions, taxis and restaurant recommendations/reservations. Very professional, friendly, without being intrusive. The breakfast each morning was a nice touch. Fresh fruits, coffees, juices, breads are available, while the staff will prepare a hot meal on request. We chose to spend our 35th anniversary at Villa Antea. Our decision was a good one!

Staff are super friendly, room is very nice, and huge too. Breakfast is very nice too. The only drawback is it's very far from the attractions, I actually have to cab it to uffize, or it would take a 45mins walk. But if you've plenty of time and is in no rush, this place is very nice.

The attentive and helpful staff made us feel very welcome We had a lovely large room, with a dressing area and huge shower room, but there was only one chair (a dining room chair at that) although the room was large enough to take an easy chair and/or sofa. We feel they could have made the garden more appealing to use.

- The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. - Unique experience staying in a 'villa' opposed to a hotel room; felt more personal. - Fewer rooms so there was more attention to detail and staff tried to meet your needs as far as possible. - We paid £20 per day for parking; was not aware of that when we made reservations and would've considered alternative options - The villa was more suburban (not right in city centre but not too far either). It worked for us as we werent spending too much time in Florence however, if you are not keen on walking (20-30 mins into the city) you might want to look at alternative options.

Friendly staff and a peaceful atmosphere - this is a nice thing to come back to at the end of a day out in the crowds in Florence! It was about 10mins walk from central Florence. But this probably also contributed to the peaceful feel of the Villa, so was not entirely a bad thing.

We are a young couple and spent 2 nights there - one word: brilliant. Not only was the service exquisit (we even got help via telephone to get through the Firenze traffic and were picked up when we failed despite all the help). The atmosphere of the rooms and the hotel itself - a historic building - was just magnificent. Beautiful, clean, big rooms with just about everything you could ask from a B&B hotel. The staff helped us out with tips for restaurants (try trattoria "Tiberio") as well as other information and was very kind and helpful altogether. Prices are more than adequate for what is offered. We strongly recommend this hotel and it will be our first choice for any stay in Florence.

This place really has a wow factor. A beautiful Floretine Palazzo with amazing High ceilings and a Bathroom bigger than Most Hotel Bedrooms. The room really is of a 5star Hotel Standard. Its a bit of a walk from the main tourist area but I'd say better for it and there are no shortage of places to eat and drink nearby.

This is a super place to stay, our room was spacious & the decor lovely. It had doors leading onto the garden & the bathroom was huge. Florence was busier than we had anticipated & so coming back to this quiet location was a real positive for us. The staff were excellent, courteous & helpful. The breakfast room is lovely & the breakfast was great. Would definitely reccommend to couples looking for a touch of luxury at a good price.

Staff spoke english and was helpful. The location is too far from the center of Florence to walk so a taxi was necessary adding cost to staying here. The hotel is in a nice neighborhood and they do provide parking for a car for a fee. My room was big, bathroom was large and I had french doors that opened to a nice patio. The dining room is very nice and the house is well kept and clean.

The staff were very welcoming and extremely helpful in every way possible. Great breakfast in the morning. Quiet neighbourhood but only ten minute walk to the main sites in Florence. Directed to several excellent family restaurants in the evenings. Everything exceeded our expectations.

What I liked best about Relais Villa Antea: every detail is considered for you. When you arrive and check-in they present you with very good information for your stay about the local area, attractions, a map of Florence and also a very thoughtful and well-designed booklet of their own that provides detailed information for taking busses to and from the hotel into the city center, the best restaurants within walking distance and also some in the center (I chose Pantarei, which was excellent and very popular). Details and directions for the major museums and galleries is also included. The location of the hotel is also excellent in my opinion, because for the first time in Florence I felt more like a resident than one of the millions of tourists. In just a few minutes' walk you can be in the center. I would love to stay at the hotel in warmer weather and enjoy sitting outside for breakfast (but the dining room is beautiful also). My trip to Florence was for business, and I plan to book this hotel in the future for any trip to Florence.
