Villa Campestri Olive Oil Resort

The wonderful old buildings and the atmosphere. Beautiful decor, large old rooms. Great food and service. Beautiful region, nice views, fresh air.

Overall we had an amazing experience with this resort. Every single parameter was just great!

This 13th century building is stunning. It's a magnetic setting for sure. We were upgraded for free to a suite for the week we stayed in Sept 2012. The room was beautiful and spacious. The included breakfast was great. We loved the carrot-orange-lemon juice!! The service In the restaurant was always good and Dario was especially great. We had a massage in our room which was also good.

We had really hoped to take some of the cooking classes but were told upon arrival that they were completely booked by a large group for our entire stay. If this is something you want to do, I suggest you book in advance. Dinner in the restaurant was slightly inconsistent with the food we had during our 3 dinners there ranging from very good to just ok.

Villa Campestri was a wonderful hilltop Tuscan retreat abounding with gracious hospitality and a highly accommodating staff. The friendly greetings, smiling faces and and frequent staff inquiries regarding our welfare were truly sincere. The views from any vantage point were truly breathtaking and provided endless photo opportunities. We spent four lovely September day::s relaxing, swimming, reading and exploring. The complimentary breakfast was extensive and the lunch/dinner menu offered many culinary delights. Some highlights we chose to book were wonderful and included an olive oil tasting, wine tasting at a local winery, 3 cooking classes with wonderfully instructive head chef Jerry and a truffle-hunting expedition with Gianni and his truffle dog "Zatta". Needless to say, this visit far exceeded our expectations. Paolo Pasquali has truly created a unique olive oil -themed retreat.

The employees were perfection, helping us with lost luggage, making reservations at Uffizi and arranging for the best massages I have ever had anywhere (ask for Sabena). We took a great cooking class from Jerry (these are really fun, if you love to cook, take a few courses). I am a travel agent and usually I say pay over 200.00 at least for a decent place, but this rivaled a lot of the 5 star places we have stayed in Italy, but felt less stuffy, more genuinely Italian and down to earth. We are going back for a whole month when we retire in a few years. The food was lovely and the daughter/managers of the hotel made us feel special and welcome. Lovely, feel confident booking this. Food was really good/gourmet and interesting.

The rooms are not totally 5 star but charming none the less, the decorating is really cute but do not expect ultra luxury. At first I thought the beds were too hard, but they really grew on me and although they were not pillow top beds were restful and comfortable.

Lovely sympathetically restored villa in exquisite grounds. Fabulous restaurant and dedicated staff. What more could you want for a totally relaxing holiday.

This is a lovely hotel in terms of location, quality and staff. It has a nice classy homely feel to it with quality period furniture and fittings. Good quality food from restaurant at reasonable prices (apart from wine). Able to eat out on the terrace with lovely views. Room we were allocated was very spacious. Excellent pool with lovely views over the valley. Free no problem wi-fi. One of the best hotels we stayed at during our holiday.

Although the restaurant food prices were good, the bill was hiked by the cost of wine. Even the cheapest house wines were 20 euros which we thought excessive especially when compared with other local prices. No airconditioning so quite stuffy in the hot summer. Could have had more fresh fruit at breakfast. Hotel is billed as an 'Olive Oil Resort' but this not really played on. All fairly minor issues as overall experience was excellent.

Stunning views, room was characterful and huge, food of good quality in the evening although breakfast felt a little "pre-packed". Excellent reception staff very helpful. Extensive grounds which are well maintained.

Facilities are a little lacking given the slightly remote location. Really needs a tennis court / games room or spa. Doesn't make much of its "olive oil resort" billing. Tour of olive oil facilities €50.00 per person for guests??

We liked everything about this place. We were a family and wanted a triple room. We were shown up to our shared room, and was breath-taken by the size of the rooms. The two bedrooms were very spacious and the interior was so beautiful. All the rooms and facilities at this resort was just so well kept and professional staff gives you a feeling that you are warmly welcome to feel like home. The atmosphere can not be described by words. The food in the restaurant was delicious and we were sad that we were only there for one night. We will definitely return one day, but then for a longer stay.

The serenity and views coupled with a wonderful dining experience in an ancient building.

Not a dislike but some olives in the room would have been a nice touch.

This resort is one of the best places I have ever stayed. I will deffinately return for a much longer holiday. In our group we had 6 couples and everyone said that everything about this resort was excellent. 10 out of 10.

The hotel and grounds were spotless, the views to the Tuscan countryside were breathtaking. The food was 5* and the staff extremely helpful.

The welcome from the staff when we arrived was exceptional. The views from the resort were the best that I have ever seen in this part of Italy - the Mugello valley was shown off at its very best. The pool area was clean and well laid out, with plenty of pool furniture to choose from. The restaurant was excellent with an immaculate Maitre who spoke very good English and who added to the experience with his opinions on the wine and the dishes. The fact that you never signed for anything and yet the bill was 100% accurate was testimony to the care that the staff took. Also, you never needed to tell anyone your room number - they just knew!

The bedroom was quite small. It was well furnished but, if anything, there was probably too much furniture in there. Telephone signal in the bedroom was very patchy, which considering how high up we were, was quite disappointing. My son and some friends visited us at the hotel but were not allowed to use the pool - or even sit beside the pool - because there wasn't any insurance cover for that. I offered to sign (and get them to sign) a disclaimer, but that was not considered enough and so they had to leave. This put something of a damper on our stay.

Loved the Tuscan location and the countryside. The hotel is beautiful and the staff amazing.

It's a little far away from Florence to easily sight see.

Everything was perfect!!!

The place located in the countryside of northern Tuscany, The staff was very welcoming, the surroundings are beautiful. The room are nice and Clean. we slept in a room with handicap facilities (ets toilet and shower) wich was not comfortable for us). Breakfast was very good and the restaurant was fantastic! The chaff is extremely good and so was the waiter / winestuart. The restaurant was not cheap but worth the prize.

Tout, et en particulier : le site (magnifique !) le petit déjeuner (fabuleux sur la terrasse ! ) La disponibilité du personnel de l'accueil (infos, conseils...)

Praticamente tutto, tranne i tarli nell'armadio. Il resto stupendo.

L'armadio aveva i tarli (che provocavano cattivo odore , di legno marcio forse, nella stanza).

L'ambiente "old Tuscany", la posizione isolata nel verde, la calma, la buona cucina e la simpatia mugellana.
