A great base to discover Tuscany, this new, 4-star hotel offers an excellent location, with stunning views of the medieval city of San Gimignano and of its countryside.

Just 3 miles from San Gimignano, Le Terre Rosse is close to the Via Francigena, the ancient pilgrim route to Rome.
Score from 401 reviews Excellent
Dating back to the 11th century, Leon Bianco is in Piazza della Cisterna, one of San Gimignano’s main squares. During the summer, breakfast is served on the quiet, relaxing terrace.
Score from 670 reviews Wonderful
Hotel Sovestro is surrounded by pine trees, vineyards and olive trees, just one mile from San Gimignano's towers. It features 2 swimming pools and a traditional restaurant.

No free wifi
I ask to the DO NOT clean my room for three days and they ignored all my resquests. regular breakfast, very few parking spots.
great view, very quiet hotel, close to the city (about 400m), large rooms, free wifi.
room size, barely get around bed and find room for two carry on suitcases
location, facilities, staff, view from bedroom
It was all good. Nothing I didn't like here
view, garden, friendly staff, short walk to town, pool, relaxing
Just a 5 minute walk into town
free parking availability could be better
room has been updated quiet pool area great view great breakfast
The bathroom could do with updating. Plastic shower curtain leaked a bit.
The location was excellent and the staff really helpful and friendly. we had lots choose from at breakfast. also, free off road parking for the car just outside the gates.
The pool and garden area, the lovely view of the tuscan hills and a great location would recommend a stay.
Unable to control room temperature, room slightly cold at times. It would also have been nice to have tea making facilities in the room.
Excellent breakfast, lovely to be able to sit outside to eat. Excellent views.
Proximity to the town, the swimming pool and the quality of staff.
The room was advertised as "small room" with balcony.....small was an understatement....the picture did not really reveal how small the room was....it worked but we would have liked to be able to move around the room a little easier!!
The locations was great and the staff very helpful.
The room was almost exactly the size of a queen size bed. This can be an issue for people with lots of luggage.
Excellent location close to the ancient part of San Gimignano, but far enough to escape the constant crowds. We stayed at 9 hotels in Italy and this was the best breakfast we had. The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. Very good view of the Tuscan landscape from the pool area.
Perfect hotel. Nice staff.
the original room we had booked, although a junior suite, had no view so we were offered a (paid for) upgrade which I thought on top of the 268 euros per night was excessive. Having said that the terrace on the room we moved to was lovely and had chairs and sun loungers.
The hotel has lovely views over the surrounding countryisde from the terrace and pool area, we had a lovely lunch on arrival and a chilled glass of wine. Our room was traditionally decorated and furnished but comfortable and we enjoyed the air conditioning! The hotel is a short walk to San Gimignano which is a must see village in the area and we had a great meal watching the sun go down oer the valley.
Pool, breakfasts, service, cleanliness, 10 mins walk to San Gimignano centre
No restaurant but many fine dining establishments to suit all pockets, nearby
Modern hotel with all the comforts and amenities within a short walk from the walled city. Friendly, professional and accommodating staff
No evening meal available.
Wonderful view of the countryside. Close to the entrance of the town.
Superb location for exploring Siena, Florence, Pisa & much more. San Gimignano is a true Tuscan hill town well worth a visit !
This really was a lovely hotel. Very generous sized comfortable room. We stayed here for three days and just loved relaxing by their enormous pool. Fantastic view over vineyards and just a short stroll into the beautiful medieval village. Highly recommended.
Top class staff, 10/10 for the helpful reception, wonderful breakfast staff and brilliant standard of room cleaning. The hotel was almost full but 4 of us could always get a sun bed in the afternoon. It was a short and pleasant walk to the town where there are so many fabulous restaurants you'll need to stay for over a week to try the best ones.
A beautiful hotel, helpful friendly staff in a fantastic location. An inviting pool was a greatly appreciated after spending a couple of days walking around the beautiful city of San Gimignano.
No food in the evenings. Mosquitos (this is a general problem and not specific to the hotel). Taxis are very expensive in San Gimignano (min €30 regardless of how short the trip is)
Close to town and with good views and a nice pool. The staff were excellent - very friendly and helpful.
Rooms were cramped but we knew that in advance & whilst compact lots of storage & spotlessly clean.
Location excellent -10minute walk to San Gimignano but peaceful retreat during the day when town is busy with day trips. Beautiful gardens with pool. Staff really friendly & helpful. Would definitely stay again.
When we arrived at reception one of the first things they suggested was that we could upgrade if we wanted. This was strange but on arriving at the room we saw why, it was so small you couldn't even unpack the suitcase and had a v small double bed, absolutely not acceptable. We upgraded to a very nice room at an extra cost of €60 per night and this room was lovely. I felt that the first room was used to create a situation where an upgrade was necessary in order to be able to charge extra, there is no way that the small room was worth the price we'd paid. I travel extensively world wide on business and this was far & away the smallest room I've even had, even Ibis or Premier Inn offers larger rooms at a quarterof the price. During the stay we heard other guests complaining about room sizes. Additionally, a small thing but representative of the overall attitude at the hotel was the factthat they wanted to charge for Internet access. When paying close to €200 per night you don't expect to have to pay for wireless internet. It's a shame because the hotel was lovely, just these little attitude changes would help to improve significantly.
Great views, quiet position.
