Featuring an outdoor pool, Abitalia Viareggio offers rooms with air conditioning and free Wi-Fi. Lido di Camaiore’s sandy beach is less than a 10-minute walk away.
Score from 609 reviews Very good
Designed by the architects Belluomini and Chini, Hotel Marchionni has a striking Art-Nouveau design. Next to Viareggio's seafront promenade, it has air-conditioned rooms with an LCD TV.
Score from 291 reviews Very good
Hotel Astor is at the center of Viareggio's seafront promenade. Offering a sea-view rooftop terrace and a free spa center, it was renovated in 2011. Most rooms offer views of the sea.
Score from 538 reviews Very good
If you want to relax in Viareggio, the Spinelli is what you need. Surrounded by the Pineta di Levante Park, it offers comfortable family-run accommodations.
Score from 54 reviews Very good
The bed was comfortable and the superior room we booked was excellent for our needs with the extra space for the 4 day stay in Viareggio. Bikes were available which we hired. Reception staff helpfull. The hotel was quite which was great for sleep. A kettle was provided which I requested but did not know it was there until I arrived as I had no e.mail from hotel to confirm such. Hence I brought my own one as I like tea with boiling water as I avoid machine drinks where possible. Weather was good for the 1st November and I had 5 swims in the sea. Visited old hill town of Montecatini by train. Train station 20 minutes away. Easy walk. Had to get taxi to airport as Ryan Air flight far too early at 6pm going home. Hotel booked taxi. 100 Euros to airport.
The Breakfast needs a huge lift and overhaul in the presentation of foods. An expert opinion should be consulted in buffet layout. No shortage of food but in my opinion the display verged on the synthetic or fast food. Yogurt and jam came from a tap which was very thin and runny. Eggs were cold. Fresh fruit salad could have been nicely chopped with a better variety of fruits. Best Western Hotel in Verona is a good example of a well presented breakfast as I stayed there last year. I have stayed in many hotels in Italy and have had much better breakfasts for same price. The dining room is a spacious bright room and needs a new coat of paint. White table cloths would improve the apperance instead of paper ones. If I had received an e.mail from hotel to say they had a kettle I need not have brought my travel kettle from Ireland. If breakfast improves this would make the hotel much more inviting as its location is excellent. From a frequent traveller to Italy and lover of Italian culture Mary Kildare Ireland
Location Room layout. Child friendly. Play room for children.
Evening meal in restaurant not up to standard Bar service hit and miss
Good location of the hotel for beach acces but most of the good restaurants are quite a walk away
The staff, especially the restaurant staff, are so rude that they make you not come back. The breakfast selection is so poor and if you get there half an hour before breakfast is over, there is nothing left anyways and none of the staff bother to accommodate you. Out of the 4 days we spent there, every day we had the personnel slam the door behind us as we leave the restaurant. We will never go back to this hotel nor recommend it to anybody. Even thou it's a good hotel, the staff just ruin the experience
The hotel was first class all round
We were disappointed with Viareggio, it was very big with little character. Poor choice of restaurants and the magnificent beach was not easily accessible (no promenade) due to private areas. Another gripe was the long walk into town (1.5 km) was almost solidly expensive designer shops which did little for us.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable.
The bathroom is very small for such a large room, but apparently all rooms are designed this way. Breakfast was ok, but no fresh coffee (machine only).
Wide choice of food at breakfast. Helpful staff. Large comfortable room and bathroom.
Price and location
Poor air conditioning; activity facilities actually part of another hotel; beds marginal
Free wi-fi English Speaking Helpful Reception Desk Good Breakfast hours and staff friendly Great Thursday Market Quiet rooms as away from centre
Too far for mature couple without transport to walk to the centre, Buses rare. On the non sunny side of the road
Newly renovated hotel, nicely furnished, friendly staff, good breakfast.
They really messed the washrooms. It is long but less than 4' wide. Sitting on a toilet your knees are almost touching the wall. There is no room for toiletries nowhere to hang towels or cloth. We booked hotel because we wanted to go to the beach. Beaches are mostly private and hotel can get you "discounted" access to the beach for 25 euro. Public beach is about 1 km away, about 30m wide strip and of course crowded as hell. Needless to say we did not like our stay, but it is not hotel's fault.
Good price for hotel in central Viareggio to stay overnight or 2 days if you want to spend some time on the beach
- 7 euro street parking special rate very handy - location amazing - rooms tasteful and clean
- 35 euro for couple at discounted rate not amazing. - English at counter could be better
The Hotel Residence Esplanade is wonderfull hotel. Location is perfect. Staff is helpfull and polite. Beach is near and co-operation with beach services are good. Rooms are comfortable and clean. WiFi is perfect. Breakfast is good enough. We spent four nights. One bedroom with living room was enough for us. 16 and 19 years old boys and parents. Ask parking ticket in reception - it works.
Nice hotel with nice apartment room, the beach is just cross street. The hotel service is good.
The breakfast is really not match with the hotel image, bad quality, not too much selection.
friendly, helpful staff. nice atmosphere in hotel and well located just off promenade. very convenient to pisa airport
having to pay extra to use beach facilities ! no uht milk in bedrooms for tea, coffee !
everything brand new, we got a very big room which was great! perfectly clean and good value. most of the staff was very friendly, except for the breakfast people.
a big big problem of the hotel was the way they approached breakfast. the staff there (and ONLY there) was absolutely miserable and rude. they were kicking stuff around, and i heard them making loud comments about the guests thinking i was a foreigner. really not professional. i replied, and the lady stopped for a while. next day she started again. a massive fail on the management side as they obviously selected the worst people to greet you at the start of your day. which is funny, because the rest of the staff was absolutely great and lovable. the best was our floor maid, who is an absolute ray of sunshine. but the breakfast people................ management: train your staff.
Location and spotless room .
no space for extra bed for kid..
Liked it all
I paid extra for a hotel balcony and there was no view, only Windows and a derelict building, so we never used it.
The confortable room
The room was very comfortabel and it's not far away from Pisa, Lucca and Firenze. We were there by train-very nice cities!!!
It's so far away from the city and the personal was not so friendly as in familar hotels.
Old building ... but at least trying to remodel as good as possible. Location is great, staff o.k. overall it is a o.k., but we would not come back.
No flexibilty on renting their bikes ... either one day or half a day ... although they were tons of bikes left ... not a good guest service
Breakfast and location were excellent, the apartment was very quiet, staff very helpful
The appearance of the apartment and the quality of the sofa bed was not what we expected of a 4*-hotel
great building, excellent location, 2 rooms for families with children, special place for children's plays
nice and large room. Good kitchenette. reasonable parking charge. proximity to the sea
Breakfast menu was very basic
Proximity to the beach. Rooms were comfortable.
