It was my first time in Vieste, and we came for the food and beauty of the area. Not the beaches. Since it is off-season many of the restaurants were closed. That was frustrating because there isn't anything that tells you it's closed. Google says it's open. Many don't have websites and even if they do, they don't update it to say they are closed. So that is just something to know before you go. It's a summer tourist town. That said, I wouldn't want to be there in the summer. Traffic was sometimes heavy in October. Interesting old town/port with long history. The citta vecchia is located on white cliffs along a promontory overlooking the sea. Elsewhere it consists of rather undistinguished more modern buildings. The beaches are superb - clean and inviting. Safe swimming with gentle beach slopes and comprehensive lifeguard cover. We arrived in Vieste as the crowds were gone. It was busy but not overwhelming. Lots of restaurant selections to choose from. Lovely beaches , perfect weather and easy to get around. We chose to do a lot if walking, but driving was easy as well. Safe and friendly town.SusanCanada - 8.0Scored 8.0

Gaetano & Michele from Svevo were very welcoming & helpful with their advice & tips of the place’s & restaurants to visit, the only little thing I would complain about is that while you were using their stunning pool their was no serving of beverages or snacks while you were out in the hot sun. Nice place, clean, nice view from deck / terrace gated, 2 miles from town. Beware don’t put your bags by door, it leaks water badly during rain ! ( not horrible but …..) Loved the dog and cat, beware they get a little muddy ( typical dog 😳) Entrance sign hard to see with car parked in way, gps is a little off, look at map. The view from the roof top terrace is breath taking and a 30 secs walk brings you down to the old centre of town. The host Giulio is the best host we have met during our road trip in Puglia, Basilicata and Campania. He knows the surroundings very well, has great tips for beaches, restaurants or other activities in the Gargano area (and outside in case you have time on your hands). Breakfast is diverse, with local products and of course great coffee, as you can expect in Italy.

The breakfast would have to be one of the best if not the best we have ever had. The car parking facility in the hotel garage was a bonus, for only ten euros per day. To be in the middle of the old town & have a lift off the cliff to the beach inside the hotel was another great bonus. The facilities are more than you would expect.
