Grand Hotel Et Des Palmes is an elegant Art Nouveau building, a 5-minute walk from Palermo’s Massimo and Politeama Theaters. It has classically furnished rooms and an extensive Sicilian breakfast.
Score from 437 reviews Very good
difficult to find a parking space nearby, and garage is a bit pricey, but super close. we didn't bring any slippers and they didn't have any [but all in all, i m really just knit-picking]
breakfast was excellent, location is good, staff welcoming and helpful [though not always present], rooms spacious and clean and confortable
Great location, beautiful big room, excellent friendly helpful staff
Breakfast time could be extended from 9.30 at least until 10. The overall information provided at the desk could be more precise.
Good situation, not far away from the main attractions. Friendly staff, taxi service from and to airport on demand.
Nothing in the kitchen area. Glasses would be nice..
Great for seeing Palermo!
the breakfast was of poor quality and inadequate.
excelent location. helpful staff.
A water kettle in the room would have been great
Very nice and classy furnishing, perfectly clean, excellent value for money
Dust on the floor, the staff was not quite pleasant (all our requests were responded dryly and unfriendly). Notwithstanding there was a kitchen there was no dishes, so we had to ask for them.
Very good location (located on the main street – via Roma), suite was huge and sound proof, no problems with Wi-Fi, every day cleaning.
Little bit old fashioned room- Not very new interieur
Nice room, nice staff, well located in the City centre, very good price
Location is perfect, wi fi excellent, stuff - very helpful!
You feel very alone in this hotel as there is only a few hours per day staff available.
Very friendly people at the reception. Good Wifi, big bathroom.
the small bathroom: change the bathtub with a shower cabin
This 4-star hotel doesn't have a 24 hour reception. We called in advance that we would arrive late because of our flight. My parents arrived earlier and wanted to wait for me at the airport. But my plane was delayed, and when I called the hotel to tell we would come later they replied that they wouldn't wait for us till 1 am and asked my parents to come and check in without waiting for me. It costed me 50 Euros more as I had to pay for the taxi. Then, the room was all old and just everything was broken. Water in the bidet and in the sink didn't go away. TV made strange sounds, the air conditioning buzzed as hell and I doubt it was ever cleaned, because after I turned it on the air filled with powder. Some handles were broken, too. The walls were dirty and scratched. The convertible sofa was broken and the bed for the third guest (me) was kind of a 60 cm wide cot with a mattress hard as a table. At the end I didn't manage to sleep at all because of the uncomfortable bed and the noise from the air conditioning. The breakfast was open till 9.30 and was quite poor. And at the end when we checked out and I tried to complain to the staff, they told me "What did you expect for 110 euros?" Well, it wasn't even high season, it was January! I expected a luxe apartment in a 4-star hotel which it was supposed to be and then I expected an apology from the staff.
The breakfast is quite simple even without pure water. The breakfast place is really small.
The staff is really friendly and helpful. The location is also good but you have to bear the traffice noise. The WIFI signal is quite good even inside the room.
Wifi access in the room was not the best, most times only worked when close to the door. It is a B&B and as such staff is only there until 1 pm. Sometimes there was a constant noise in the room)
The location is right in the center of Palermo and very close to the boat station. Staff was very friendly, we arrived at 8 am and they let us check-in to our room right away. When asked for a car rental they called and arranged for the car rental to pick us up. The restaurant across the street was a good family restaurant.
Breakfast Wifi Rooms spacious Location Very accommodating
Big room, very central, very clean.
Parking at public garage Staff not available 24 hrs.
Location Friendly staff - Jenny Elevator Breakfast - fresh croissant
Room's design is a little old (Old wood cabinets, etc) Parking costs 15 euros (which is typical for almost all hotels in a good location)
Great location Staff is very friendly and helpful Room is very spacious
Staff was normally unsmiling Breakfast not topped up when nearing end of service (we arrived 9:05am and service ends 9:30am)
Location was in the middle of old and new Lift Good shower facilities Strong wifi Good selection at breakfast
Breakfast - although good - the buffet wasn't always topped up, and therefore you may not been aware of what was missing, and not have had the full choice. The toilet drains had a problem and were very smelly for a few days!(no doubt would be fixed after we left though)
The location was excellent for being central for walking around the city. The room was also excellent - (lovely bed and linen/ luxurious curtains/ good size towels etc) - as was the lovely member of staff on check in . Expect street noise though - cars, people out at night and barking dogs on neighbouring balconies - all of which could be loud even on the fourth floor! (and all part of being in a city!) We had a corner room with two balconies , providing lots of light and insight to the local community around us! A lovely stay!
no 24hr presence at reception
We had a very enjoyable stay here in Palermo. The room was very large with good facilities in a good central location. Breakfast was very good and the staff helpful and friendly.
The traffic noise at night. I cannot sleep with air conditioning on, but opening the window for fresh air meant that you had to endure traffic noise from the nearby Via Roma.
Everything apart from the traffic noise at night
location, space, and price
the staff was great. very helpful. the rooms were great.
