My husband and I stayed in the Luna suite and my in-laws were across the way in the Sun suite. The rooms were spacious, very historical and nicely decorated. Our bathroom was small, but beautifully tiled and well organized. There was also access to beautiful patio/garden areas with fabulous views .

The mattresses were quite hard (not uncommon in Italy) and pillows were not to my rather picky standards, but not horrible.

The room was medieval and beautifully appointed. It was very romantic and centrally located in Assisi. Staff were very helpful and courteous.

The room was is disrepair toilet seat broken, range hood broken and front door handle kept coming off. We also felt this accommodation was quite expensive. Most of the rooms were empty which tells me they are charging too much. It should be better to charge less and have occupancy. Parking was available under the city but also expensive. Photos of the exterior on are not representative of the accommodation.

The ambiance, breakfast, location, room comfort

Staff is there from 9am to 6pm. No staff at night. Wi-fi stops working in the evening and until staff comes back to reset it which is annoying.

San Crispino is a medieval converted religious building whose structure looks great. It is superbly located in the middle of Assisi right next to the church of Saint Claire and 2 blocks from the main square. The views of our suite were beautiful. Staff is helpful and try to satisfy us in any way they possibly can. As to our suite, I must say that even though it had great vaulted ceilings and some nice older furniture I cannot describe it as stylish or upmarket as the pictures and some comments lead me to believe. The bed was ample but it had an old spring mattress, the upholstery was old and in pink satin already stained in some previous accident. There we lots of melted candles, artificial flowers, an old computer with Its tiny screen doubling as a TV and supposedly Wi-FY in the room , both cable and wi-FY disabled. The bathroom was tiny but worked. I do not think it was good value for money and certainly did not fulfill our expectations of spa wellness or of staying in an stylish, upmarket medieval suite.

I was cautious about San Crispino after reading controversial reviews here, yet I still decided to stay there for 2 nights as I wished for some freedom from a hotel environment and for an ability to cook in a kitchenette; I booked a suite. How delighted I was with my stay - the place exceeded every expectation. The welcome was efficient, I arrived during official arrival hours and got help with the bags. Signora Gianna was very courteous and helpful, she had supplied a cooking pot and some utensils as I asked. The rest of the place was perfect - a one bedroom apartment, all beautifully furnished with elegant antique wood furniture and real leather sofa in the main room, and a great canopied bed in the bedroom. The place looked and felt truly romantic and cozy, so much that I did not want to leave it in the morning for breakfast, indulging instead in local delicacies bought in nearby shops. I always appreciate when some personal touch is felt in the decoration of the room, and here there were plenty, including such charming things as the pearl-adorned gaze window treatments. The flat is very quiet, being at the top floor; the view from the windows in both the main room and the bedroom was magnificent, with the church of Santa Chiara, and down below a marvelous private garden. The apartment has high ceilings, great heating (October nights were cold), a totally functional kitchenette for light cooking (pasta, gnocchi, etc.) with adequate dishes and utensils, a good size small fridge, excellent WiFi, marble bathroom with good shower. The bed was extremely comfortable with great linen and real wool blankets. The wardrobe and the commode for clothes in the bedroom were very convenient. I loved that everything was of high quality, and above all the privacy and tranquility of the flat. Cleaning was done every day, and it includes dish washing. The building is actually a converted monastery of San Crispino and it retains and lot of bygone era character.

I made my reservation in early April, and when a month later I thought of extending my stay in Assisi I found with dismay that the rate doubled. I must note that I found the place exhilarating for the rate in the double-digit euro, but I am not sure if I would be as elated paying the double of that - the current rate. I loved the privacy and relative solitude of the place, and it caters certainly for a somewhat independent traveler. If you expect lots of hotel staff at every turn being available for any whim - room service, bar, spa, valet parking, etc. - this is definitely not a place for you. Personally for me there was nothing I did not like as I value above all the tranquility in a beautiful comfortable spacious suite where I can rest and relax, free from any traffic and other noise. This place was just a dream come true for me, so discreet and charming. One difficulty was parking but I found free parking outside of the Santa Chiara gates. One has to be resourceful to stay here, I think. I recommend it for those who enjoy this type of accommodations.

There is individuality,Rustique, good location, Breakfast was served by a very friendly italian hostess who really cared about whether you enjoyed the breakfast

Reception only opened for a few hours a day, shower toilet too small, rooms not cleaned everyday, It is good on its own accord but it was not the boutique luxury hotel I thought it was

Assisi itself. The building is in a great setting.

No concierge a/h. No other staff. Breakfast in same street but different building across street. Had to ask for toilet paper Skimpy soaps. In four days we received 2 tiny bottles of detergent. Tiny towels on last day - only small face towels Dark entrance - no light - had to stumble in dark and trip. Bed was smelly. The place is not a hotel but a series of rooms that are let. In short, an expensive place of little substance but quite some stylistic pretension.
