We loved this place. The staff lavished attention on us and answered to our every needs. When it rained, they lend us umbrellas. When we left, they kindly offered to take custody of our bags for the day. The room was tastefully decorated and furbished in a traditional style, with a lot of attention to details. For example, there were painted friezes reminiscent of the gorgeous decor you can find everywhere in the city. The breakfast was very good and plentiful. It is a buffet and offers everything from eggs and cheese to cereals, fruits and yogurts. They have american coffee but you can also ask for a real italian coffee or cappuccino. The location was idillic, very close to the main sites and central, but not too close to the busy touristic places, in a quiet little street. Plus, our room faced a courtyard, so there were no street noise.
The only minor inconvenience is the noise coming from the corridor. The wooden door of the room is not soundproof, and we could here people coming and going. But there are not many rooms, so the disturbance is very minimal.
Excellent accommodations! The pictures looked so good that we were skeptical--wondering if it was going to be a "Club Paradise". Not so, the pictures did not do it justice. Also, the Staff was so very helpful. Breakfast was better than expected . We would highly recommend.
Charming and spacious. Great location, very helpful staff. Loved being on the first level and offered laundry service,
The bathroom was the turn off - at least in our room, such a big room, the bathroom was small - needs to be updated and reconfigured. The step down to the toilettes was dangerous.
very convenient location delightful accommodations friendly, helpful staff
Very clean, excellent breakfast
The location was ideal, a short walking distance from nearly anything a visitor would want to see. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The quiet courtyard was perfect for breakfast. Lastly the too was bigger and nicer than we'd hoped for. We lucked out finding this place and would specifically recommend it to any friends/family traveling to Florence.
Easy walk from train station and within walking distance to all of Florence. Staff were very accommodating, booking tickets carrying cases up narrow staircase, etc. Loved the view from my room overlooking Duomo.
Can't think of anything.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Our bags were carried up to our room on arrival and brought down on departure. Great breakfast.
Mosquitos...no screens on windows. Lots of steps. If you have trouble walking this may be a problem.
Close to Duomo and other tourist attractions. Security and the breakfast which was superb.
Everything! Grazie mille per tutto!
We loved everything about our stay but mostly the staff who treated us so well. We will return and recommend it to anyone who goes.
The staff were wonderful, very helpful with any questions and recommendations to needed. Even though it's location is central (5 min to Academia, 15 to Train stn, 10 to Duomo) - it is wonderfully quiet and has a peaceful inner courtyard for when you need down time after sightseeing. Good breakfast.
Be aware of the mosquitos in Florence, even in our inner courtyard - bug repellant is useful.
Quiet peaceful setting in central location made this the perfect retreat in Florence during the busy tourist season. We stayed on the second floor overlooking the small, lovely courtyard and the rooms were beautiful, high ceilings, spacious with lots of old woodwork, stained glass. Also - loved the fact that it had A/C as it was the first week of July. Breakfast was good.
Beds were adequate, but pretty hard. Showers were teensy, but this was the norm in every place we stayed in Italy.
Location great, very clean, friendly hotel staff, nice continental breakfast - overall a very pleasant stay
The owners of the B and B did all to make us comfortable. Excellent location, room for 3 was spacious with 2 large windows, room was clean, breakfast was amazing on the patio. Staff engaged with us to make our trip the best. Thank u Giovanni and Niri!!
The photo on the advert is perhaps only relevant for one room. if you only intend to sleep here - OK - but otherwise you are just paying for the location. Avoid room 48
Giovanni and owner Neri were fantastic. They greeted us warmly and were so helpful. Il Villino rooms was restful, beautifully appointed, and comfortable. The inn is very close to the Duomo and easy to get to the major sites in Florence. Breakfast is wonderful in the cozy courtyard!! Anne, Hamilton, Ohio
Location - on the Grand canal
Parkay floor pieces were loose. Could hear people in the rooms next door.
Beautiful B&B; rustic and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and the staff very helpful. The location is convenient for walking around city center and surprisingly very quiet in our room and the courtyard. All we could hear was the sound of church bells!
Lovely quiet courtyard. Staff very helpful.
The room was spacious and comfortable with a nice balcony and a nice breakfast and terrrace area.
I would've liked to have seen better door locks, a room safe, and more control over the air conditioning system. For my taste it was a bit warm.
The staff was very attentive to our needs and were quite gracious. We lost our credit card and the owner went above and beyond to help us out. He made dinner reservations at a nearby restaurant (Acquacotta-fabulous, by the way). Since they knew him, we didn't have to pay until our credit card arrived! The delicious breakfast (cappuccino and croissants were my favorites), the central location and room with a view of the courtyard and Duomo was wonderful. We will most definitely stay at Residenza Il Villino again.
The air conditioner in the room didn't work very well, but it really wasn't a problem since we could open the window and a cool breeze quickly cooled things off.
Location is nice.
WIFI is too slow.
From the outside, we couldn't tell that it was anything but an apartment building. Once we rang in and went down a hallway, we were greeted by Neri, the owner, who made us feel very welcome. The breakfast area and outside patio were charming. Our room was spacious and very clean. The mini frig in the room was a nice touch. At breakfast each morning, the staff was attentive to our needs. We would definitely stay there again.
My husband says that it was a little noisy outside our 1st floor room with people on the stairway and doors opening and closing in the early morning hours.
