very good location, nice room, excellent breakfast. highly recommend
only one channel on TV in German, no Italian channels were available
We went there ended up there is only a tiny door closed. So we rang the beel, someone answered the phone telling us his college will be there in 5 minutes. But we waited for more than 20 minutes, finnally two staff came and told us the heat facilities are borken and there was no hot water for shower, and she asked us to transfer to a another place which is a private apartment. The whole experience is disappointing.
The location was great! The staff very friendly and helpful, the hotel was clean, cozy and well appointed. I would definitely stay again and my friend whom I met there but he stayed in another hotel said he would stay at my hotel next time!
- Nothing, everything was in good order.
Excellent location, 2 minutes away from Rialto and 5 from San Marco. The room was quite big, bigger than you'd probably get in a 5-star hotel. Cleanliness was spot on, and the staff is very friendly.
If we have to complain about something, here it goes: The breakfast doesn't have a lot of variety, if you care about that sort of thing. And, travelling with a 1 year old, the worse was manhandling the stroller up the stairs to the room. But that's a problem inherent to Venice and not to this residence in particular.
Stairs and "reception desk" ...
We arrived at La Campana very easily by private speedboat and the driver pointed us in the right direction. Within two minutes we were in the hotel! The location is simply perfect! We assumed that we were in the hotel itself but were pleasantly surprised to be walked down to a seperate apartment right on a canal and within a stone's throw from anything we wanted to see. The apartment itself was extremely clean and was decorated as you'd expect with Venetian designs! It was a great stay, thank you!
The hotel staff weren't there all the time and when we realised our room didn't have an iron there was never anyone there to ask for one... Needless to say I ended up ironing my clothes with my girlfriends hair straighteners. Other than that it was amazing.
A lot of noise during the night Low quality breakfast No hot water
Our room is a double floor apartment with nothing useful on the second floor. The breakfast was OK, and we really enjoy the atmosphere they make and the beautiful classical music leads us go back to the medieval time.
It is really hard to find even with maps and GPS. After we finally find out the little outdoor, there is nobody there. And there is no views at all from the window.
Having to leave
Good location. Just a few minutes walk from Piazza San Marco. The entire hotel is very clean and beautiful. Good breakfasts.
Do not have an elevator. Had to raise my suitcase upstairs by myself.
old beautiful furniture and cloths, modern appliances
Italian breakfast was relatively modest
The staff were friendly and the hotel was clean and suitable for our needs.
It's tricky to find. Just a door with very little to suggest there is a hotel there.
Location is ok.
Because of some mistake, they placed us some other place called la loggia. And the second day they moved us again to an apartment. Apartmant was so creepy and dirty. This was the worst experience ever. Staff tried hard to make us feel ok. But sorry guys it was a total disaster.
The location is really convenient as it is really close to San Marco square.
All rooms were non smoking, which is something they have to say: ''we do not accept smokers'' and not request that we do not smoke in the room. I think the non smoking law applies to communal areas and not private spaces in Italy or anywhere in the world. Also, bear in mind that since all buildings in Venice are old there are no elevators, so you have to carry everything some two or three flights of stairs.
The hotel, or maybe, hostel? Is perfectly located between the Rialto bridge and St Marcos plaza. Getting there by ACTV boat from the railway station takes only about 15 mins including walking. The breakfast was fair, actually. Room facility was good, but the hairdryer was hard to use. Overall, a good stay for Venice.
Breakfast should offer more meat/eggs for selection. No elevator.
Rooms are well decorated, staff is friendly and helpful, excellent location
wi-fi quality is not really great
Excellent location. Huge room with nice facility, clean and quiet.
The sign of the hotel is not clear on the street. Breakfast too sweet. Need some basic thing, like good toasted bread.
Location and our suite were fantastic. Such a bonus to have a sunny terrace!
Breakfast, especially the coffee and the bread rolls, was pretty bad. But this is fairly typical for Italy. Quality of sleep was also terrible. Being on a busy street meant sleeping without earplugs was impossible.
Everything was correct, clean and fine. It is not superb though, nothing above standard nice hotel - like the rating on booking would suggest (almost 9/10). But I do recommend it.
Very little logo, so difficult to find.
Great staff and price
The situation of the hotel is perfect in the center between San Marco and Rialto - 5 min to Vaporetto Station. The room was nice, cosy and quite spacious (we took the superioir). The breakfast is not good, but not bad as well, exept coffee (it is not possible to drink). We were alowed to stay 2 hours extra after check-out time that was very comfortable for us.
There are some things that are lack for the hotel to be very good. 1) Coffee on breakfast is very-very bad. It was our 5th time in Italy - and the 1st time of so bad cofee. 2) The pillows are too hard - but it is a problem in many hotels in Italy. 3) It looks like they had never cleaned the room carpet with a vacuum-cleaner so it is really dusty. 4) we saw no administrator at the reception since we checked-in. 5) Outside in front of our window (1st floor) there is a big lantern. The curtains in the room are light. So at night time it was quite light inside the room.
Terrific location. Excellent Staff. Good upgraded & comfortable rooms.
It being Venice, mosquitoes can be a problem. Make sure you keep windows closed at night and you'll be fine.
great service and beautiful room
The location was just perfect, 5 minutes walk from both: rialto bridge and Saint Mark's square.
Breakfast could have included some more variety of food, since it currently has 2-3 croisants and one choice of ham and cheese.
